In short period of time they were stranded together on an alien spaceship Tony managed to get Nebula to open up without fear of being punished for it, he put a band-aid on years and years of horrors Thanos made her endure. She was always compassionate and had a great potential for good, but with Thanos she was too afraid to show it and was bullied into feeling the constant desire to live up to his expectations. 

Tony made her feel she was good enough, he did not treat her like a weapon, he was not afraid of her and she knew she had his complete and utter trust. 

Nebula helped him greatly on the spaceship and was a terrific companion, she later became a very valuable member of Avengers who continued to treat her as their equal and not a threat.

Tony created a path on which Nebula finally found herself, her happiness and serenity.

Miss Peregrine & Miss Cuckoo friendship headcanons

I stan them, and hope very much that they’ll interact more in the next book, so I made these headcanons. Btw, I wrote friendship headcanons since there’s no indication of a romance between them yet, but I’ll 100% write some romance stuff if something happens between them in the next book.

When she came to the Academy, Isabel Cuckoo was a scared and confused 10 years-old French girl who didn’t speak a word of English. Alma, who was 9 at that time, took her by the hand and gave her a tour of the Academy, talking to her in French as best as she could (Alma’s mother was of French descendance, hence the surname LeFay, and she would occasionally talk in French with her children)

Given the limited number of rooms in the Academy, some ymbrynes in training, especially the younger ones, would share a room. Alma and Isabel became roommates.

Each night, they would brush each other’s hair until it would be smooth and shiny. Occasionnally, they would braid each other’s hair. Even at that time, Isabel often talked about her desire to dye her hair in bold colors. Alma 100% approved and encouraged her to talk to Miss Avocet about it.

Isabel’s dream of dying her hair silver became true when she was 17, and upon her insistance, Alma also dyed the tips of her long hair silver, so they could walk around with matching hair.

They would sometimes loop a few seconds for fun. For instance, when there was only one biscuit left during tea-time, they would make a mini-loop so that everyone could eat the biscuit all over again. Miss Avocet did not approve. Surprisingly, even Jack was fond of this little trick.

When she was 16, Alma went back to her village to attempt talking with her parents (who had kicked Alma, Myron and Jack out after Alma discovered her peculiarity). When Alma came back heartbroken and defeated, Isabel spent the whole night comforting Alma, as the younger ymbryne cried into her shoulder.

The first time Isabel learnt of Jack’s verbally and physically abusive behavior towards his sister, she walked up to him and punched him in the face, hard. She was 13 at the time, and Jack was 19. But she managed to put him in such a state of shock and panic (he thought that his nose was broken) that Myron had to dump a glass of water on him to make him come to his senses. For once, Miss Avocet and Miss Bunting approved of the use of violence, albeit reluctantly.

Alma and Isabel have matching friendship bracelets that Alma made. Both still have them, even though they graduated almost a century ago.

When Charlotte escaped from the Cairnholm loop, Miss P was in France visiting Miss Cuckoo’s loop. Both of them have been traumatized by the events of that day.

During AMoD, when Jake and co went on the mission and Miss P had no idea where they were, Miss Cuckoo would be waiting for Miss P in the Acre everyday with a bar of chocolate or occasionally a glass of wine. They would sit in the empty Ymbryne Council chamber and Alma would vent to Isabel.

And after saving the children and her argument with Jacob, Miss P, blinking back tears, went straight to find her best friend. She allowed herself to break down once more in Miss Cuckoo’s arms (Miss Cuckoo gives the best hugs)

Alma plays the piano, and Isabel managed to get herself an electric guitar. They play the best duets together.

am I the only one who thinks “for the children” and the way they say it sounds wayyyy too much like “hail hydra” ????

sacrifice plays tony stark has been willing to make (and has made) in the mcu:

iron man 1: commanded pepper to blow up the stark industries roof with him still on it in order to stop ironmonger, knowing it could potentially kill him as well 

avengers: flew a nuke through a wormhole into space on a suicide mission in order to destroy the chitauri armada and save the world

iron man 3: in a deleted scene, tony took out his arc reactor to use as a defibrillator to save a young boy’s life, and went into cardiac arrest as the shrapnel crawled further and further towards his heart 

age of ultron: placed himself underneath a falling city to blow it up before it caused global destruction, knowing he may not walk away 

infinity war: begged strange not to trade the time stone away to spare his life after thanos had impaled him and was about to finish him off with the gauntlet

endgame: wielded the infinity stones to turn thanos and his entire army to dust, knowing the price was his own life

sacrifice plays thor has been willing to make in the mcu:

thor 1: offered his life in exchange for loki to cease his attack on the town and his newfound friends

infinity war: risked killing himself in order to forge stormbreaker for the chance to kill thanos

endgame: practically begged to put the gauntlet on to snap everybody back before tony stopped him because he wasn’t in any mental condition to make that choice

sacrifice plays natasha romanoff has been willing to make (and has made) in the mcu:

aou: was willing to stay on sokovia and die with everybody she thought they wouldn’t be able to save before fury surprised them with the helicarrier

endgame: sacrificed her own life on vormir to give the team the chance to bring everybody thanos dusted back

sacrifice plays clint barton has been willing to make in the mcu:

aou: shielded the young boy in his arms with his own body when ultron started shooting in their direction

endgame: was also willing to sacrifice his own life on vormir but natasha beat him to it

endgame: could be argued that offering himself up as the guinea pig for the time travel test run was a form of a sacrifice play 

sacrifice plays bruce banner has been willing to make in the mcu:

ragnarok: changed into hulk to help thor save asgard, risking relinquishing all control to hulk, knowing he may never be able to turn back

endgame: wielded the gauntlet to bring everybody back, at great physical cost (he didn’t even know for sure if he’d even survive it)

sacrifice plays steve rogers has been willing to make in the mcu:

the first avenger: jumped on a (fake) grenade

the first avenger: flew a plane into the arctic to save his country

i really don’t understand why steve is painted as the noble, self-sacrificing hero when the rest of the avengers have actually been willing to make more sacrifice plays than he has?? steve isn’t even in the top half of the list!! tony has first place with the amount of times he’s been willing to lay his life on the line to save others yet he’s often painted as selfish and egotistical. post-tfa, steve legit became all talk. in endgame, he told everybody else to do “whatever it takes” while not really putting in the same effort himself. and in the end, he just went back in time and rewarded himself with a long happy life, abandoning everybody else in the present. he got everything back, while; tony sacrificed his life and left behind a family, nat sacrificed her life for clint’s family, thor had to accept his entire family and best friends are all dead, and bruce has to live with a physical handicap and the loss of nat. honestly, don’t talk to me about how noble and morally superior captain america is because endgame proved that he kinda isn’t…

One of the best parts of The Crimes of Grindelwald was when McGonagall undid the hex on the girl’s mouth and cast it again when she started talking badly about Leta.

Don’t think of Pepper, who always knew that Iron Man would be the death of Tony, watch as her prediction came to fruition, and not be able to do anything about it except give him one last parting kiss on the cheek.

Don’t think of Happy, who had been with Tony long before he had returned from being held by terrorists, after which he had immediately asked for a cheeseburger. Don’t think of how he must have felt when his daughter asked for the same thing after Tony’s death.

Don’t think of Peter, who had finally gotten that hug when he wasn’t turning to ash, only to have Tony slip away only a few moments later. Don’t think of how it must have felt for him to lose yet another parental figure, the grief he must have faced.

Don’t think of Rhodey, who had known Tony since they were both in MIT, and who had already nearly lost him to terrorists all those years ago. Who had been by his side all these years, especially during his Avenging, only to watch as he slipped away.

Don’t think of Harley, who had met Tony so long ago in his shed, and who hadn’t heard much else from him until his funeral.

Don’t think of Morgan, who was only five, and whose last words to her father were “I love you 3000,” and who had these very words returned to her in the recording Tony left behind before he died.

And definitely don’t think of Tony, who was so close to the happy ending he fought so hard for. Who had his second kid back — the first being Harley — and even had a third with the love of his life.

Don’t think of Earth, which had lost its Greatest Defender in the process of being avenged.

Mother’s Day

Minerva McGonagall was sitting in her office. She had just given detention to the one and only Weasley twins. The Weasley twins, she never thought she would have such trouble makers again since The Marauders. An owl flew through her window with the Daily Prophet. Minerva put 1 Knut in the little bag on the owl’s paw. She rolled the Prophet open and on the front page was a picture of Sirius Black. The sweet boy she once knew, or she thought she knew. Sirius Black, the troublemaker of the year, she had so many good memories of that boy. All the detentions she had given him, the times the Marauders pranked the Slytherins. Sometimes she laughed at their pranks and they would take that as a victory. Mysteriously those trouble makers had wormed their way in to Minerva’s heart, no matter how hard she tried to stop it, it hadn’t worked. Looking back at the paper, she started thinking. She couldn’t believe Sirius would do something so horrible, she had always thought of him as a hard working, brave, mischievous and good friend. She hadn’t expected this, she didn’t believe it. He could not have killed his best friend, the father of little Harry Potter who now had no longer parents and lived with his aunt and uncle.   She threw the newspaper in her trash can, not wanting to see the boy she loved as her own, in his prisoner clothes. The whole castle was awake by now. Sirius Black had found his way into the Gryffindor common room, or so Ron Weasley said. Minerva was searching in her hallway for the Black boy. In this hallway was her own bedroom as well. She was looking in one of the classrooms, but there was no trace of Black. She was about to walk away, when she saw a calendar. It was the 12th of May, Mother’s day. Sometimes Minerva wished she could have been a mother, have a child of her own. Looking away fast, she left the room. Minerva was tired after looking through the whole hallway, classroom after classroom. But she still had to be up all night. The last room she had to check was her bedroom. Opening the door, she saw a basket on her bed. She walked towards it, there was a note next to the basket: I’m sorry for all the Mother’s days I have missed. This is for the best mother anyone could ask for. Thank you Minnie. - your son

Minerva was now certain that Sirius Black was in the castle, because no one called her Minnie besides him. Minerva was beyond happy, because she realised something. The boy saw her as his mother, and so do many other students.
