My and @skysiren41 's httyd fic about our beloved ex-trapper.

What is it about?

Ever since he was little, Eret was always scared of the story about giant serpent roaming the seas of the Far north, stories his grandfather told him. Years later after he joined the Berkians, lost his dragon in a war and fell in love, he encounters two of his greatest fears:

The legendary serpent himself and the thought of returning to his land. The one he ran away from.

Now he's facing the consequences of leaving his throne duties, his family and friends and as well reuniting with his roots and remembering what it's like to belong somewhere.

How does this differ from the original Httyd?

Night Furies and Light Furies roam the New Berk

Eret's first dragon was a blue scarred Singetail that he rescued from one of his old traps. He died protecting Eret in a war.

Grimmel did happen but after him Drago showed up again but this time with only the hunters, who secretly planted bunch of dragon roots around the New Berk so the dragons become dangerous and the Berkians are distracted and unprepared for the war.

Viggo is alive (you can't change my mind) and he has his own island, where he nurtures and trains dragons, that he managed to rescue.

Dagur: We already do! My oldest son Oswald and my youngest girl Lani! And judging by Mala's latest behavior, I'm suspecting that there's a third one on the way.

Dagur: Oh I can't wait! Mala always makes the most colorful and unique threats to me it's almost poetic! 😍 And her mood swings! Ooh, how she keeps me on my toes. Her mood swings changing faster than a Changewing is both challenging and adorable.

Solved mystery behind Lars number 2.

In RoB Twins mentioned cousin Lars already, which means that in RttE they used Lars number 2 to avoid possible confusion that Twins are related to Grimmborns.

Dagur: Could I request me as Common Hoopoe and Mala as Blue Jay please? Sadly I don't know much about these birds, only when I see the grace of the Blue Jay and punky feather hairdo of the Hoopoe-*hehe silly name*- I think of me my and my love.

My theory is that he- oh wait, he's here.

Viggo: Thank you deity but I'll take it from there.

Viggo: The process itself was quite dangerous but simple too. All we needed was to find its location, watch the whirl center to count down for how long it lasts before setting a couple of very long chains at the bottom of the sea and after drawing the Submaripper to the chains locations, all we needed was to pull to secure at least one of the limbs before making it eat a lot of substance that shall remain a secret to make it fall asleep so we could actually drag it to the Trader's shores. It was quite a struggle to pull but as you have seen, I've succeeded. And if you ask about how we tied it up, we used the chain and a high sea stack to pull the dragon up to finish the jobs before dropping the dragon on the bottom until it woke up and began its chaos.

Viggo: As for the Shellfire. Similar process but it required a lagoon, harpoons and strong ships. Also strong dragons. Good thing we had the Catastrophic Quakens to do the heavy lifting. After the ship was built, we pulled the dragon back into the sea and started with the plan.

How do u think viggo managed to chain a submeripper underwater or capture a shelfire cause thats running on my mind for a while now?

I can't say for certain how Viggo did it. I can, however, provide my opinion on the matter. I'd like to think that the dragon eye may have given Viggo a general location to the submaripper whereabouts. After he managed to find one I think it would make the most sense to take it out with a large amount of dragon root. He may have dumped it straight into the ocean or had his men fire arrows at it if it came close to the waters surface.
