The way we have to go through all of march without a new season of dimension 20….
😭
what do you mean I can't control everything, why not
my plan for 2025 is to do things
I appreciate this analysis so so much. I'm always so excited to see how the seating arrangement reflects (and maybe affects?!) the characters.
i'm excited for the new season! i think they'll have a lot of fun playing with steampunk. ngl with the implied presence of a ship i hope the narrative will be a bit more player-driven like starstruck; i want to see the intrepid heroes go ham on new characters.
stats-wise, we're now up to 26 seasons of dimension 20, 9 of which are intrepid heroes. assuming this is a 20 episode season as the more recent main cast seasons have proven to be, we'll be just shy of 300 episodes of dimension 20, at 298 (including one-shots / live shows).
the seating arrangement is the same as the unsleeping city, with murph and siobhan swapped. to note: all of the intrepid heroes have now sat next to every other intrepid hero at least once, with murph finally sitting next to lou.
brennan is on for his 25th season, 20th as gm (including the time quangle + upcoming live shows as a separate season. otherwise he's at 24/19).
the side preferences are still the same; they're a bit skewed by having all of the fantasy high and unsleeping city seasons counted, but generally emily and zac are both on the left while ally and murph are both on the right, with siobhan and lou swapping sides. in terms of neighboring players:
zac is next to emily (6/9)
emily is also next to lou (3/9)
lou is next to murph (1/9)
murph is next to siobhan (3/9)
siobhan is next to ally (2/9)
across the table:
zac and ally are paired (8/9)
emily and siobhan are paired (4/9)
lou and murph are paired (3/9)
i'm excited to see where they go with it system-wise; we've seen them adapt dnd before, but i'd be excited to see what changes they'd make to suit a steampunk world. i heard mention of mechsuits, so maybe that's a consideration as well.
Recently showed Pinocchio (1940) to my partner and it was delightful to see how much they hated Jiminy Cricket. They said that he was the "Jar-Jar Binks of the movie" and would have "overturned democracy if given the chance."

Stories that would be improved by polyamory:
Dracula: it's basically a novel of kitchen-table polyamory already, but this way someone might actually kiss Jack Seward.
A Midsummer Night's Dream: just let them all have an orgy at the end. I feel like they'd be into it. Puck's invited too if he wants.
Bridget Jones' Diary: why force a choice between Mark and Daniel if there was the option to have both?
Any Arthuriana: less cheating, more honesty, fewer duels, more snogging, everyone's a winner.
Stories that would be made worse by polyamory:
Wuthering Heights: dear God do not give Cathy and Heathcliff a reason to drag more people into their terrible relationship than are already involved.

Me, 14, at school wearing a dress with a HUGE petticoat and matching makeup and accessories: Wow it's crazy that no one knows I'm queer! Everyone just looks at me and goes "straight" cause I'm so ultra-femme. Wild
