The Holmes brothers
wanted to challenge myself with this one a bit so this is the result lol I‘m not the biggest fan of how it turned out but I wouldn’t say it‘s bad either🦧
Have I mentioned how intrigued I am by their altering dynamics across the different iterations yet????🥸
Rewatching The Sign Of Three after having listened to Sherlock & Co.'s 10-parter is funny because now I'm recognizing names
Like OHH THAT'S their Sholto! Interesting!
AND JONATHAN SMALL AHHHHHHH
Granada Holmes Granny Square Blanket
In 2020 my husband and I got really into the 1984 Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett. In The Musgrave Ritual, the fourth episode of the second season, Holmes spends a lot of time swanning around being cranky wrapped in a crochet blanket. I had: lots of online classes and zoom calls, lots of pent up anxiety and energy, a wrist injury that flared up during everything except crocheting for some reason, and a Holmes-loving husband who was just as obsessed with this iconic blanket as I was. So I made this!
If you'd like to make one too, read on. I wrote the pattern two different ways; both are in the reblogs. There's a quick and dirty version where I assume you know the basics of crochet and throw some details at you and it's pattern chaos. And there's a nice, neat, detailed pattern with more specific instructions. Caveat for both: I'm a long-time "figure-it-outer" when it comes to fiber craft and I've made up tons of projects but I am new to writing a pattern for someone else to interpret. So good luck in there. And let me know if you have questions!

Yes!! I'm still reading it, but it was wonderful to see Sherlock being all giddy about his research at the start instead of the usual gloomy man who only gets vaguely excited about a case every once in a while😭 (I know that's exaggerated, but MAN the original Sherlock seems precious so far)
Just started reading Sherlock Holmes and all the adaptations are wrong. This man is a delight. He gets excited about hemoglobin and is ecstatic at the thought of Watson as a roommate. He purposefully forgets how the solar system works so he has more room in his brain for crime. He shows Watson the dirt stains on his trousers and he can tell what part of London they come from based on color and consistency. (As far as i can tell Watson didn't ask, Sherlock just gets back from walks and tells Watson about the stains unprompted.) The text specifically says "Holmes was certainly not a difficult man to live with." Why does every adaptation make him unpleasant and rude, he's literally just eccentric. He's such a goober, I love him.
I stopped what I was doing and audibly gasped when they mentioned the harpoon, because I was like "Is this what I think it is??" And the more they kept describing the scene the more I realized that I'VE COME INTO CONTACT WITH THIS CASE THROUGH THE FROGWARES GAME "SHERLOCK HOLMES: CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS" BEFORE, it's actually the first case you solve in that game and I hadn't recognized it by just the name "Black Peter" alone, but as soon as the harpoon came in the switch flipped and I was like "OHHH IT'S *THAT* CASE???" I'm still confused about the religious stuff that's been hinted at so far though, since as far as I remember, that part wasn't in the game👀
I also don't remember every single detail from the game version of this case though, so I'm excited to find out how they'll do this🦫
HE DIDN'T I THINK WHAT WHERE DID HIS BROWN EYES GO
Am I insane or did SNW Kirk not originally have blue eyes
Guess my favorite Arcane character challenge
level: impossible
He likely did! The Crimean War was part of the anglo-afghan wars;
I'm just referring to the fact that him and Holmes both live until after the first world war, which *could* mean that he fought in it, but @amypihcs does have a point, he was pretty old at that point and I'm not sure where the British military drew the lines in terms of age for their army tbh
Do you guys ever just remember that Watson had to fight in the First World War?
attempting to style my 12th Doctor wig while catching up with the last two Sherlock & Co. episodes🫡 (Only one more part left to come out for the Sign of Four wooo👀)
I asked Instagram for some suggestions too :]
I think drinking piping hot tea and absolutely burning your mouth is something that would absolutely happen to any Watson 🥸
(I bet y’all can’t guess what just happened to me)
Ah okay nevermind my last reblog then, I haven't learned about their birth dates yet, so damn I was very off about their timelines lol I completely forgot that they'd have aged that much until then and that I'd need to take their age into consideration overall lmao
