Lover's touch
Shego came out of the bathroom, the hot steam coming after her.
It had been a bad day, stresfull, exhausting, and tedious, those new recruits were an absolute mess.
She saw Drakken already clean, just with his pijama pants reading a book against the bedhead. He gave her a look and similed, and taking off his lecture lenses he left them and the book on the littl night table.
She unwrapped the towel that was on her head, holding the wet hair, and left it resting on her shoulders.
-May I?- He asked, pointing at the hair dryer and the brush on the boudoir
Se didn't answered, just sitted on the bed, and he took the objects before following her.
Drakken dryed her hair, and when it was dry enought he took the brush and carefully passed it on her hair, smelling her shampoo, and followed with his open hand the trail that it had formed, feeling the softenss of the little waves, making sure that it wasn't tangled anymore, and then skipped to the next area to keep brushing it.
She let out a soft sigh and closed her eyes, enjoying the tact of his hands and relaxing at the soft pull that the brush going from the top of her head to the end of her hair was causing.
He enjoyed the little sound that she made out of satisfaction, his heart helplessly skipping a beat.
When they were done he let a little kiss on her shoulder, she took his shirt and got into the bed, and after letting his tools where they belonged he got himself into the bed with her, where he belonged.
Shego made her way up to his chest, and stroked his cheek, her hand climbing up to reach his hair, and gave him a small kiss.
-Thank you, Drew- She said resting on his chest.
He couldn't resist to pass his hand over her back, her shoulders, all over her hair, and melted blizzed out in love when her rythmic breath told him that she had already fall asleep.
God, how he adored that woman.
This whole thing has shown me that i can't live without you
The celebration ended.
Little by little they all went home, and that led them to also decide to go home.
-The jungle lair is destroyed, and we either have the island one-
-Can't we just go to a hotel? I am dead tired-
-Deal-
When they entered the room they realized that, for the first time since all that alien madness had begun, that they were alone.
And now standing there in the faint artificial light, tired, with the excitement gone and their feelings compleatly clarified, they decided to simply ignore the fact that there was only one bed in the place.
His eyes connected, and Drakken was the first to move, trapping her in his arms.
Anyone would have expected, by witnessing that scene, that Shego was about to send him flying away with a plasma shot.
Anyone would have been surprised to see Shego moving her hands to his back, sharing an embrace that tried to express everything that they had both realized.
They separated, and without saying anithing more they layed down in bed, ready to sleep all what they had’nt rested in almost 2 days.
Mama Lipsky would probably pressure them, but little or nothing mattered to get married now or later.
After all, besides clearing their names, all thar stuff made them see that the had in common that they would not endure a life without eachother.
Not the same.
The nurse left the little bump in his arms, and the extra weight attracted his gaze to his chest to look at the little newborn creature.
He looked at her gently rounded face and her sharp chin, her thin nose, the tone of her pale skin with a slightly green halo, much more normal than theirs, still unusual for any human being.
Above her head, a small tuft of wavy tangled hair, as black as her barely existing eyebrows.
Finally she opened her eyes, and the emeralds that were discovered led him to place a kiss on her forehead, making her frown. He laughed at the familiarity of the expression that such a small being could generate in him.
-You know, Shego? - He called softly, sitting on the bed next to the exhausted woman who rested with her eyes closed and her hands on her belly. -Back when we were villains you used to tell me I could never manage to convince you about the clone stuff- He leaned over the tangled little blanket again and kissed her cheek. -And now look at this little cute-
Shego looked at the baby, and smiled softly
-Giving birth to your daughter is quite not cloning, Drakken-
Private property
-Umm... Shego?- Athena asked, calling her attention. -You see, I know you told me to don't get into your room, but I was just looking for some makeup and I found this- She raised her hand and showed up a Drakken's picture covered with green pencil hearts, the words "My mad, evil angel" above his head. -Do you wanna explain this?-
Shego glared at Athena, no expression on her face -Sorry kid, you don't need to know anything about it.-
-But you and he...-
-Case Closed- Shego concluded, getting up and snatching the photo from her hands to disappear down the corridor.
That time she told them (lV).
When Athena woke up she felt a hand petting her hair. Shego was hugging her, lying over the blankets. The warm of her body was welcomed, and she had the urge to tell her calmly, yet tears escaping her eyes, that Kim started dating Ron
-The bufoon, you mean?- -His name is Ron. He's really nice, don't be rude-
Shego asked if she had told her how she felt, and at the negative answer she encouraged her to do so.
-It's pointless.- Athena's voice came lazily and resigned. -They're not gonna stop dating. I'll just humilate myself.-
-If Drakken wouldn't had taken the risk of humilation - Shego said amusedly as she spotted him stepping into the room - You wouldn't be here lying in our bed right now-
Athena took the plate that Drakken had brought her and smiled a bit, lightened up.
Drakken smiled delightedly at the mordant comments directed at his hot cakes.
I think these ones are kind of short i’m still satisfied with them tho.
This whole thing has shown me that i can't live without you: I absolutly loved when Ron told that to Kim on the Graduation episode, it was just SO CUTE that I had to do something like that.
Not the same: This one came to me on the Kimitation episode, and after meeting a friend’s baby that i swear looks exactly like his wife.
Thank you for reading :3
That time she told them (lll).
When Drakken found Athena crying in the couch and asked worried sick what happened, and she whispered to him in the middle of a whimper with a little, cracked, defeated voice a heartbrokened "I lost her", he couldn't resist to embrace her in a protective way, trying to confort her, and let her vent her sorrow over his shoulder until she felt asleep. He then took her to his (and Shego's) bed, and covered her with the blankets.
Shego arrived home, and the tearful face of the sleeping girl alongside the concerned, serious look that Drakken gave her made her blood run cold.
Blanket lair.
She entered to the lab, all wet from the heavy rain, letting that thing she had just stolen, and the sight of her weird boss cornered with a blanket made her sigh with irritation -What are you doing-
-I have something to confess- He said popping his head out of the sheet, shaking a bit -I am afraid of storms-
He left out a little scream as a thunder crossed the sky.
-You know - She said getting closer to the quivering tangle he had became, letting her hand rest on his shoulder. -A villain shouldn't said his weaknesses to a random anybody-
-You know you are not just a random anybody- he answered.
Theyr eyes clicked for a few seconds, another thunder snapped them out of the moment. He hide his head into the blanket and leaned against her hand.
-Just, please stay around, would you? You really make me feel safe-.
He never forgot they used to be happy (ll)
He saw them her in the news, and he remembered how scared he was when that comet crashed in the tree house, how relieved he felt when even the tweens come out without a single scratch, and how enraptured he was when they found out that now they had powers.
He remembered how he decided for them that they should became heroes. All of them.
He was just a 18 year old college rejected boy, that felt relieved by knowing that now he could stand out, make a name for his own, even if with that he had stolen his brothers childhood.
Maybe that was the moment when they started to fall apart.
Maybe when he made his real life the secret identity and talked to his 14 year old sister about combat techniques and ways to stop evil schemes instead of helping her with the guy that asked her out in a date and her math homework she started to slowly get away from him.
Now that he looked at her he regreated it.
She once was a hero for Go City. She once was just a sidekick for the villains.
They were once best friends.
But right now, as he could see on the screen and hear from the man who was holding his sister by the hips, she was the hero of the world.
She smiled to that man, and a relieved feel stuck into his chest.
At least his bad decisions leaded her to a happy end
Tipsy truth.
-C'mon, Shego- Amy said grabbing her hand to lift her off the couch.
The sudden rise made her dizzy, the movement she felt around her as she walked made her want to vomit, but her stomach settled when Amy sat her down in a chair, and she was suddenly surrounded by classmates and teachers.
Maybe she suldn't have gone to the laboratorists party.
-Ogay, we'r aaaalll heeeer- Said Professor Demenz. In his speech it was evident the amount of alcohol he had ingested, even over his Germanic accent. -Letz start the geim-
He stretched out his hand, and only then she noticed that there was an empty bottle of beer in the center of the table.
Oh great, back to high school she thought.
Amy from the department of genetic biology was at her side, followed by botanist Killigan and professo Demenz, who rached the bottle.
A laboratorist whos name she couldn't remembered, the biology dean Fisk and one of her classmates. Junior from the drama class was at her other side closing the circle.
The bottle spinned and stopped in front of the unknown laboratorist.
She chose challenge, and Professor Demenz challenged her to convince Drew, the antisocial and strange teacher who she found weirdley attractive, to play.
She straightened in the chair when, with a little difficulty, the girl brought him and sat him in a chair. He looked pretty drunk. The group cried out of joy and laughter. Demenz gave him a hard pat on the back that destabilized him.
Drew looked confused around him, and when their eyes met they looked at each other. She felt sparks jump and an abrupt heat suffocated her, a product of something very different from the alcohol in her blood
The woman spun the bottle, and it stopped pointing at her.
- Truth - She said without taking his eyes off the man in front of her, who kept his gaze as haughty and challenging as hers.
-Who do you have a crush on? - She asked. No one noticed the growing typhoon that was forming between her and that scientist who seemed so unusually attractive to her.
She smiled, her eyes still on him. -I like Professor Lipsky- she said, and took a swig of the beer that was in front of her as if nothing, raising an eyebrow, and suddenly, cutting the heacy silence that had formed, the entire table burst into laughter.
-Good joke, good joke, Miss Go- Killigan was heard over the noise.
Above the laughter and teasing, Drew gave him a smile while raising his chin, and with a nod he invited her to follow him as he got up.
Maybe it hadn't been so bad to go to that party.
Don't you have something you wanna take over?
-Gotta go- Shego said, and pressed the button to end the call, leanning on the board she sighed, letting her head hang.
-Shego- The -not anymore blue- man called.
-What?- She answered exaspereted without moving.
-You know what?- Drakken said. -I finally got your hint-
-My what?- She turned around to look at him. He was staring at her, with his hands behind his back and a smile on his lips.
It wasn't anithing like an evil, mischeavious grin, but a soft one. A faint, tenderful smile that made him look brighter enought to shock her.
He walked until he was in fornt of her, and wrapped her by the waist, letting his hands rest on her back.
-I do want to take over something with a double u - He said closing the distance between their lips.
Shego was frozen, but instead of a seething burst of rage, it was a heavy curiousness what started to grow on her when she found out that the kiss was as welcomed as unexpected.
It was a slow kiss, soft, it could barelly be counted as a pet among their lips, but it made her stomach disappear in a sudden void.
He broke the contact and looked at her with a beaming smile, and aparently he couldn't help to let out a full joyed giggle.
-I want you and your heart- He said in a whisper leaning his head on her's, tightening the embrace and nuzzling her hair with his cheek. -I double want you-
Hi everyone :3 I`ve been bussy, but at the middle of my dutys i have been looking for time to keep writing those.
Blanket Lair: I remember that when i first saw the Job Unfair episode, as i saw Drakken hugging Shego when the thnder happened, this was the first thing i thinked about. Now rewatching the serie (for the 9th time i guess) i was able to structure it onto this.
He never forgot they used to be happy (ll): I think that part of the reason for Shego to leave Team Go was that she was expected to be a hero, to save the day, and she had to let go things that she did’t wanted to, for the greater good. I bet that it was Hego’s responsability, he is the older brother, the role model, and I don’t remember when, but I am sure that he once said that his “normal” life was the facade for his real self: the hero, so it just got mixed in my head and *poof* this happened.
Tipsy Truth: Drunk college student Shego, drunk college professor (Doctor) Drakken, what ellse can I say? I wuld absolutly love to see more stuff like this.
Don't you have something you wanna take over? : Taken from the Bad Boy episode, in spanish the W guessing is changed for an m (mundo = world) and my little brother said “Wow, it looked like she was gonna say Don’t you have something you wanna take over? Starts with an M, ends with an E?” and my head just exploded.
The joke is perfect in spanish, and when i was looking it in english i noticed that W could also be taken as “doube you” and it all connected so perfectly that i just had to.
Thank you for reading this :3 I love all the Drakgo stuff that everyone has posted,Ii hope that the fandom (The kim possible fandom, not just the drakgo part xD) stays alive and active for a long time.
Mixed vibes
The only thing Athena hated more than her parents fighting, was her parents agreeing on something.
Every time it happened, they were all joy and laughter, until the joy passed and their smiles slowly faded, and they stared deeply into each others eyes and started to get closer, and she could feel a different kind of spark between them.
-Athena, dear- Drakken would always say without breaking eye contact with Shego -Be a good girl and stay away for a couple of hours, would you?
He didn't even needed to complete the sentence for her to storm out the lair.
The rose's thorns.
Shego loves to be offered wealth and power, dates to expensive restaurants and boring theater performances that she would gladly reject, if she weren't a maneater.
She likes to see men humiliated for their enjoyment.
She loves spending thousands of dollars on a necklace she will never wear and take rides on private planes and transatlantic cruises to private islands.
Drakken loves to see Shego flirting.
He loves that when men see her it takes less than a second until they kneel before her, ready to do absolutely everything she asks them to.
Drakken enjoys seeing her face of satisfaction when, after each of those dates she turns his back on them and it is his car where she ends up walking to.
The feeling of self-sufficiency that fills him when Shego, a woman who could have any man on the planet, lefts them with a broken heart to return to his side each time is just a plus that boosts his ego
The wicked taste they share at destroying each one of them is just the cherry of a cake they rather to enjoy in a more intimate way
That time she told them (ll)
When at the middle of a bad movies marathon she slipped out that the girl she had a crush on was in fact the Kim Possible they hesitated and argued a bit, but accepted it after she told them that even if she was all head over heels for her, she would never ever leave them in order to go running over the world all goody two-shoes saving the world.
Shego joked about convencing the little princess to join them, and leaned her head against Athena's.
Let's say it was the stress
The first time she kissed him (like, not in control of any mood-a-thing) it was out from nowhere.
It was just that she couldn't stand listening to him anymore, so she pulled him from his lab coat and slammed her lips into him's, closing her eyes.
As she felt him slowly yet firmly putting his hands around her hips and back, to hold her closer, she opened her mouth to deepen the kiss.
The velvet sensation from their dancer tongues made her go dizzy, and when he cupped her cheek with one hand while his vines took it's place on her back, she wondered why it had taken her so long to teach him when to zip it.
Skyline window
You look out the window, watching the birds taking flight to sail the blue sky.
They leave, and you're sure they will not come back. And you yourself would not return if you could go.
You would like to leave everything behind, forget everything ... lose yourself in another kind of blue.
You regret it, because you wake up in the same way you woke up the day after your wedding, with a man (a good man) you do not love.
You feel like that princess of your daughter's story, who sings from the top of the tower, yearning for love and freedom.
She could stand it, her eyes didn't knew beyond what her tower allowed her to see.
But you, who knew the world and saw it submitted before you -before him-, you who were the queen of lands and seas, who loved with madness and passion the breeze, the power, who loved... you can not live behind a window just watching to the horizon, waiting for a blue flash that announces himself as a prelude to the global ecatombe. You don't want to live like that, as well as you know you shouldn't want it to happen.
You, Miss Go (Madam Barkin) should not love evil, because you are good. And yet you love it.
You love the freedom that it offered; or rather, you love the one who once offered it to you.
So, I started thinking that, as my exams are comming,it may have not been such a good idea to get obsessed over this ship, but as I can’t help it I will just go along with it.
Mixed vibes: So, my headcannon is that as Athena was capable to get Kim’s spark, she may be able to notice many kind of sparks. My favorite moment of the movie was whenShego and Drakken agree on the “Or Kimputer, Kimputer is good too” “Yeah, it is” part, and the idea just poped into my head so naturally...
The rose's thorns: I once saw a comic showing something like this, but the image of them that I have in my head is of a flirty Shego and a very conceited, smug Drakken that just loves to show off that it is him and no one else the person that that beautiful woman loves in the wickedest way he can.
Skyline window: I really love the what if of a good Shego after Stop Team Go, but as a faithful shipper I can't just stop thinking that she would eventually start to miss him or her previous life (With the single fact that her normal self hates coco-moo, but she uses it all shiny and stuff on that episode to back me up)
Also, I’ve been thinking on that wanted for all (all of us, I have to admit x3) Parent!Drakken Teacher!Shego AU, wondering if I should do it just in ficklets or as a whole fick by it’s own.
Another kind of magic
Drakken knew Shego's body very well.
It was not just the fact that they were together in a healthy adultish relationship, but as well that the kind of clothes she liked to wear were really thight.
The catusuit, her dresses, gosh, she used to hang around the lair in all kinds of bath suits and bikinis before they had started their relationship.
The visual stimulation was still hard for him (and to any other men that tought that a little look was worth the punishment), but it was just too casual to get playful every time he saw her.
That was why, when she asked him how she looked at the dress she was going to wear for the -not anymore teens- heroes's wedding, it was a surprise that he stared open mouthed, widen eyed before reaching her with his vines to let her feel how much he loved the way she looked, and propose her with a deep husky voice that instead of going to the wedding, they should stay home to have their own honeymoon.
Optical effect.
-All that I am saying- She justified her mockery - Is that Hego's daughter turned out to come in a deep pink tone. If this kid comes in any unnatural color scheme, and if Possible notices that you are Blue, I am green, and the henchmen always wear red, she's gonna say all over the world that instead of an evil family we are some kind of mischievous rainbow-
That time she told them (l)
When little Athena told them, all nervous and shaking that she had a crush on a girl, they supported her by confessing that they themselves liked both men and women.
The teen's face lightened up, and with a huge, relieved smile she pounced to them with a hug, and ran away to her quarters giggling, leaving too fast for any of them to process what had just happened.
Drakken held back a soft laugh as his heart melted with tenderness at the sight of Shego's soft smile.
It couldn't have worked.
You repeat it to yourself until you are tired.
In your way to the lab you see her. She stops her walking and looks at you, her gaze crossing your's, her green eyes reading you like a book, and the forgotten -more likely repressed- subject strikes you all over again.
It couldn't have worked
You gave her a little nod with the head along with a "Morning, Shego", a little crack in your voice.
A crack that shows her how hard it is to keep your distance.
It couldn't
Her sight softens, and you notice how she hesitates a bit, wanting to go away maybe? wanting to throw herself at you and hug you and kiss you? You hope, you would love to do so.
Have
She just nods as a response and she is the one that, after a few more seconds than it would've been necessary, breaks up the eye contact, and keeps her way to anywhere she was going.
You keep your eyes on her until she desapears across the corridor.
Worked
She sticks in your head for the rest of the day.
You were too foolish, too proud to admit that she came to fit into your world as something more than your sidekick, with her essence getting to your bones, and her sass tattooed in your nerves, and your love for her just so deep into your core, and she never admited it either because she was - she is - equally foolish and proud and obstinate than you to accept it.
It couldn't have worked, you say to yourself until you fall asleep.
But that’s just a way to avoid saying those words that you (and she as well) had knew all along.
It could have worked.
It would have worked.
He never forgot they used to be happy (l)
As Hego watched his sister going away with that blue skinned villain guy, his mind wondered away to their childhood.
For many years it were just he and Shego.
The 4 years apart, 10 years between he and Mego, not to say the 14 years gap with the twins, were the reason that they had growned up to be best friends for the majority of their past life.
He remembered the time she was born, how he immediately fell in love with his little sister as he saw her looking at him, and stretching her little tiny arm to reach his hair and start pulling it.
He laughed at the memory and waved his head, coming back to the present.
I quite don't speak english very well, so forgive me if it's messy or if there are some (or a lot of) grammatical mistakes.
Since I saw the announcement of the Kim Possible live-action movie I got SO deep into the fandom all over again. I've already saw the whole series like 3 times, and the movie like 7 or so.
Since I couldn't get it out of my system I just decided to start writing ficklets, some just oneshots, some with a few parts, with all the ideas I get from myself and from the fandom. Feel free to request something as well, please :)
Another kind of magic: I have the headcannon that Drakken got so used to seeing Shego's figure to get excited every time she wore something revealing or stunning, he just notices how beautiful she looks instead of getting horny about how sexy she is (not that he doesn't keep that on mind).
That time she told them: From the popular headcannon of Shego's and Drakken's bisexuality. This is one that i am done writing with 7 parts.
He never forgot they used to be happy: Based on this beautiful pic :3 I’m gonna meke 3 or 4 of this ones
He’s my wife (I haven’t even watched the show)
I can’t do links since I’m on mobile, sorry. But you can find it on Spotify via searching my account or searching the name of the playlist
Y’all, I have finally done it
I have conquered my lazy ass for this moment
Y’all, I have finally done it
I have conquered my lazy ass for this moment
BRO FINALLY SOMEONE DECIDED TO MAKE A CASINO/MOBSTER AU
I was literally gonna write out the story myself when I wasn’t feeling so damn lazy
(Read a few chapters of a fanfic made by @gothicthundra , forgot its name, but Drakkens father was part of a mafia or maybe successful business)
Been listening to Alice Francis' - St James Ballroom, Shoot him down and The Correspondents' - Fear & Delight on repeat and my gosh, I've been wanting to draw 1920's inspired Drakgo for along time now! I intended for this to be a joker card of a full set of Kim Possible playing cards (@creatorping pointed out that Kim would make a great King, Monique a Queen, Ron the Jack (of all trades) and I think Wade as an Ace) but it's a bit too ambitious to fully shade all those cards as well, maybe I do it in the future but for now nope. Special thanks to my BF for knowing a shit-ton about weaponry and telling me what would suit the best. Got an entire list but I went in the end with Tommy gun. I'm not that good at drawing them tho :')
No one asked, but here's what everyone in my AU is doing for Valentine's Day.
Ron and Bonnie are having a quiet night in. Ron made food, Bonnie picked up some movies and arranged for someone to watch Rufus and Debutante.
Monique and Tara are going out for dinner.
Wade and Olivia are going to a movie.
Yori explains to Will that, in Japan, Valentine's Day is for girls to confess to their crush, and if the feelings are reciprocated, they get them a gift a month later on White Day. Will says she can take him out then, and he'll take her out a month later.
Felix and Zita are gaming. They both put surprises in the game for the other one to find.
Brick, Josh, and Justine are participating in a trivia night at a local pub.
Gil, Amelia, Larry, Joss, Patti, and Artie are having a "singles party" at Larry and Joss's apartment. Patti's only there because her parents wanted the house to themselves for the night, and Artie's only there because his dad had a date.
Drakken made a nice dinner and dessert for Shego. Her surprise for him is for later in the evening.
The only way Jack was able to take Betty on a date for Valentine's Day was to lead her on a chase that ends in a date.
Obviously, I have thoughts.
And they're mostly about Kim/Ron.
More specifically, the fact that Kim doesn't remember the fact that she and Ron are dating.
Even more specifically, he reaction to being told they're dating.
Ron: No, not to worry. I’ll have KP back in time for dinner. After school I’ll give her a refresher around Middleton. It’ll be like a second first date.
Kim: Are you hitting on me?
Ron: Um, Kim, we are dating. I’m your boyfriend.
Kim: Boyfriend? Oh, wait, you’re serious?
So, here we have Kim finding the idea of her dating Ron amusing. She doesn't take it seriously, and doesn't seem interested in the idea.
I realize that Kim can't remember anything at the moment, and thus she's not really acting like herself.
But it's kind of unfair that Ron is the last thing Kim remembers.
Ron, who should be the most important person in Kim's life.
Ron, who is certainly the most integral person in Kim's life.
Ron, who is the biggest constant in Kim's life, the person she's spent the most time around, and she doesn't remember dating him until the end of the episode.
And it's annoying when we get scenes like this:
Ron: Hey, just take it slow, Kim. Nothing to worry about. You’re among friends.
Bonnie: Unh. Just learned to walk, K?
Ron: Except for Bonnie!
Kim: Bonnie? Oh, Bonnie! She and I are on the same cheer squad, right? So we’d be friends.
---
Monique: Ron, Wade told me. Lost memory. How’s she doing?
Ron: Eh, a little sketchy in some areas, particularly relationships. You know, she needs to remember things on her own, so don’t expect Kim to just--
Kim: Monique? Monique! I remember you! The first time I met you was at Club Banana. We’re, like, best friends.
---
Ron: Now, you can’t tell me that you don’t remember Bueno Nacho.
Kim: How could I forget? The center of the cheese and chip universe. Home of the naco and managed by Ned.
Ron: How is it you remember everything but the fact that we’re a couple?
Kim: Couple of what?
Ron: People who are dating.
Kim: Are you sure that we were dating? I mean sometimes people read a little more into things than they should, right?
Ron: OK, look, photo evidence, K.P.
Kim: Oh, wait a minute.
Ron: Prom, dancing, the kiss.
Kim: You called me in the middle of the night once to ask about us dating.
Ron: Yes!
Rufus: Yeah!
Kim: Then you said I melted.
Ron: No, ok, no, that was just a dream.
Kim: So we were dating in a dream you had?
Ron: Well, yes, in the dream, but also--
Kim: Why is my watch beeping?
Ron: Wade.
Kim: Hi, uh, Wade?
Ron: How did you remember his name?
Kim: You just said it.
Ron: Oh, right.
Wade: How are you doing, Kim?
Kim: Wade? Oh, Wade! Better. I’m starting to remember stuff.
---
Ron: Wait, wait, wait, wait! Shego, you tell her. Kim and I are dating, right?
Shego: What? For real? Oh, come on. That never made any sense to me. I mean--
Ron: See? That wasn’t a no. Unh.
Kim: Glowing hand. Glow…Go…Shego!
---
Wade: Ron? Ron fought Shego? Alone?
Kim: Well, I don’t know if fought is the right word.
Ron: Sure it is. I fought. Fought for my life.
Wade: Well, hopefully this will help Kim remember her fighting skills.
Kim: Cheer practice?
Wade: Well, so far all of your memories have been triggered by some event or meeting. Good luck.
Bonnie: Hello? Late for practice much?
Ron: OK, don’t let Bonnie get to you and whatever you do, don’t listen to anything she says. You’ll be fine.
Bonnie: I don’t know what your problem is, Kim. I knew this would happen when you started dating Naco Boy.
Ron: Aha, Kim, you see? Do you see? I’m Naco Boy.
Kim: Yeah, I shouldn’t listen to what Bonnie says.
It's not fair that Kim can't remember dating Ron, her best friend of 10+ years, someone who is extremely important to her, until he loses his pants again.
She remembers everything about Monique after just running into her in the halls.
She vaguely remembers Bonnie after running into her, and gets her full memory of Bonnie, including a complicated cheer routine, back after one try.
She remembers Bueno Nacho by just showing up.
She remembers Wade after a phone call.
She remembers Shego as soon as her hands start glowing.
And she remembers Drakken and how to fight before she even goes to confront him again.
But she can't remember Ron until the end of the episode?
This is unfair to everyone.
Especially since Kim is, for some reason, so resistant to the idea of them dating.
I mean, I guess I can understand not immediately believing you're dating some random guy, but Ron's not some random guy.
Kim still remembers their friendship, and trusts him on everything else.
But she doesn't accept that they're dating.
She won't even consider the idea.
And, if dating Ron was as important to her as cheerleading, fighting Shego, hanging out with Monique, or going to Bueno Nacho, shouldn't something have triggered her memory earlier?
Especially since Ron is involved in pretty much every aspect of Kim's life?
But, no, she doesn't remember until he loses his pants.
Not riding on the back of his scooter, which she did during the Li'l Diablos incident which, coincidentally, was the same day they started dating.
And did several other times before Kim got her own car.
Not going to Bueno Nacho, which they do all the time.
Not cheerleading, which Ron happens to be kind of involved in as the mascot.
Not even seeing Ron, which was enough for her to completely remember Monique and Wade (over video!) and kind of remember Bonnie.
No, the only thing that triggers Kim's memory of Ron is that he loses his pants.
And the fact that nothing but Ron losing his pants triggers her memory of them dating, implies that, on a subconscious level, that's how she views Ron.
Not as her boyfriend, but as her clumsy, bumbling, inept sidekick who's always losing his pants.
And everyone - Kim, Ron, us viewers - deserved better.
Regardless of my feelings on Kim/Ron, I think the show could've done a better job of portraying them as having feelings for each other.
In "Grudge Match" Kim mocks and insults Ron for even suggesting that people might think they date. This does not indicate that she's secretly crushing on him.
In "Emotion Sickness" Ron is uncomfortable with the idea of dating Kim. This does not indicate that he's secretly crushing on her.
In "Bad Boy" Kim suggests Ron take a date to Rueben's wedding, but gets uncomfortable when he asks her to go. They both agree that it's not a "date-date".
(I will give them props, Kim and Ron's conversation about the main characters of Agony County getting together was a nice lampshade.)
I will admit that Kim was jealous of Yori in "Gorilla Fist", and her conversation with Ron about Yori crushing on him could be a nice parallel to Kim's situation.
However, Kim was also jealous of Felix in "Steal Wheels", so it's not like she has to consider someone to be romantic rival to be jealous of them.
Ron is never shown to have issues with Kim dating, even attempting to help Kim with Josh.
And, though she doesn't seem to think highly of Ron, she doesn't have a problem with Ron dating.
Before "So The Drama" there wasn't a lot to indicate that they were attracted to each other.
Actually, there was more to indicate that they only see each other as friends than that they were secretly attracted to each other.
In "So The Drama" we get a lot of Ron pining over Kim, but only one line near the beginning that might indicate Kim is also pining over Ron.
And then, there's Eric.
Eric was perfect for Kim, and she begins to ignore Ron because of him.
This prompts Ron to realize his feelings for Kim, but he doesn't act on them until after Eric is revealed to be part of Drakken's plan.
Which is another problem; Eric was part of Drakken's plan.
Aside from one line at the beginning, there wasn't much to indicate that Kim was crushing on Ron. So having her date him after it's revealed that Eric was part of Drakken's plan makes it seem like Ron's the rebound.
Honestly, having two people end up together because the alternate love interest was no longer an option is kind of lazy writing.
(Granted, they hadn't been expecting the show to continue after this, so I'm not too surprised.)
Still, Kim ended up with Ron not because he was the better option but because he was the only option.
And that's just unfair to both of them.
I fee like, with all my criticisms, it's about time I talk about what I do like about the show.
Firstly, I love Ron. He's very relatable - not instantly good at everything, but tries. He's always got Kim's back. He's not afraid to be himself, most of the time. And the way he treats Rufus like his best friend is sweet. His willingness to help his enemies is also very sweet.
Fun Fact: Rufus was put in the show because the execs requested an animal sidekick. So, they chose one that you couldn't just go out and buy, and it let them make people say "naked" a lot.
Secondly, I love the villains. Most shows of the time had villains where all their motivation is the same - money, power, etc. It can be kind of boring.
But that didn't happen in Kim Possible. Their villains were interesting, and a nice break from the usual mold.
Drakken? Recognition and revenge.
Shego? No one really knows. Hatred of her brothers is a good guess, though.
Senor Senior, Senior? Bored during retirement.
Senor Senior, Junior? Wants to be a pop star.
Duff Killigan? Revenge for being banned from every golf course in the world.
Motor Ed? Just wants to build the raddest vehicles ever.
Adrena Lynn? Revenge for being exposed as a fraud.
The Fashionistas? Fashion's too expensive.
DNAmy? Just wants real cuddle buddies.
Even the ones who did want money and/or power had interesting methods of going about it.
Monkey Fist? I am going to master Monkey Kung Fu.
Frugal Lucre? I am going to hold the internet hostage unless everyone in the world pays me $1. (This would work on me. I'd be giving him a dollar.)
Mathter? Turn someone into a guy who destroys everything he touches. (Actually, I'm not 100% sure what his goal was. Power, probably, but then what?)
The villains were genuinely entertaining. There's no other show where you're going to be fighting an angry Scotsman who's launching exploding golf balls at you, or a British master of Monkey Kung Fu.
Lastly, I like that, when Kim and Ron made new friends, they didn't immediately become new teammates. They might help out on a mission that's in their area of expertise, but they're not all joining the team right away, if ever. It's nice that Kim and Ron were able to have friends to just do normal stuff with.
Honestly, there is a lot to like about the show. There is a lot that I like about the show. But those are the three big ones I felt like mentioning.
If I listed everything I love about the show, this post would be too long to read.
While I love the idea of Ron deciding to end things with Kim after "Crush", there are definitely other times when Ron could've ended his friendship with Kim, and if you're interested in that trope in fanfiction, I think you might find this list helpful.
After being forced into a haircut in "The New Ron", Ron decides Kim's controlling behavior is too much for him. He ends his friendship with Kim and calls her out for her behavior.
After using mind control on her brothers at the end of "The Twin Factor", Kim is grounded for a long time, leaving Ron to handle missions alone. This would cause Ron to realize his own skills, and put a strain on his relationship with Kim as she can't stand to watch him succeed on missions without her. Kim also finds herself with fewer babysitting jobs once word of her using mind control on her brothers gets around.
Kim finds herself getting fewer missions after word of her negligence and reckless endangerment in "October 31st" gets out. She also finds herself banned from Monique's house since she destroyed the garage door.
Upset over GJ thinking Ron is the secret to her success in "The Ron Factor", Kim tries the solo hero thing, and fails. Unfortunately, her parting had left Ron hurt and upset, and he's not interested in coming back to Kim.
After "Adventures in Rufus-Sitting", Rufus manages to communicate to Ron what happened while he was away, and Ron gets angry that Kim not only neglected and endangered Rufus, but lied to him about it. Ron ends things with Kim as he doesn't know how he can keep being friends with someone who cares so little about Rufus.
Ron comes back from his trip in "Exchange" with new skills, new confidence, and an unwillingness to put up with Kim's controlling behavior. So he takes a break from Kim when she gets to be too much for him.
After constantly being ignored about Gil in "Return to Wannaweep", Ron decides to end things with Kim and look for someone more supportive. Kim finds herself booted from the squad after they learn about how she intentionally sabotaged her own teammate to succeed.
Team Impossible from "Team Impossible" uses legal actions to keep Kim out of the save the world business, at least until she's 18, due to the reasons mentioned in my post about them. They offer to train Kim and Ron in how to be better heroes, but Ron is the only one who accepts.
Feeling abandoned in "So The Drama", Ron decides to confront Drakken alone. He succeeds, and it starts a new chain of events where Ron realizes how little Kim cares for him and decides he deserves better.
There might be episodes in Season 4 that could have Ron end things with Kim, but I feel like at that point it would take a lot, and Kim didn't do anything truly heinous to Ron so he wouldn't.
If anyone can think of any other episode where they think it would make sense for Ron to end things with Kim, please feel free to comment!
I don’t intend to comment on every episode, just the ones I haven’t talked about yet or the ones I feel need to be given more in-depth discussion. Let’s begin:
“Tick-Tick-Tick” - First episode, not much to complain about here, but I do have one thing that irks me; the detention gang are never seen or mentioned again, with the exception of maybe Mike, as a guy who looks just like him is seen on the football team in a later episode. He is not addressed by name, however, so I’m not going to assume it’s Mike. The point of the episode was that Kim learns the detention gang are not all that bad, but then they’re never seen or mentioned again. They’re not even in the background. It kind of defeats the purpose of the lesson.
I also feel like this episode would have been a good chance to play into Kim’s “driven to excel” traits and have her hate the idea of detention because she’s afraid of how it will affect her future, and she learns one detention won’t ruin her future. You know, a reason for thinking detention is for losers, instead of just her being a cheerleader.
“Bueno Nacho” - I did mention in a previous post that I hate that Kim forged an application for Ron before ever talking to him about it. Honestly, they could’ve just had Kim entice Ron to take the job by mentioning some kind of benefits i.e. employee discount, one free meal while on shift. There was no reason for Kim to unilaterally make the decision, and she seems majorly controlling for doing so. Your protagonist’s mistakes should come from a lack of knowledge, not a lack of consideration. You can teach people to communicate, you can’t teach them to care.
“Attack of the Killer Bebes” - I wish the creators had delved more into Kim’s feelings. She thinks Ron being a cheerleader would be mortifying, and she hates the idea of him as the mascot. But we never learn why. There’s a line at the beginning that would indicate Kim just wanted something for herself, but the creators don’t expand on that. Instead, we get Kim just insulting Ron for the rest of the episode. It would have been more interesting if it was about Kim struggling to keep something for herself without Ron, and learning that even with Ron as the mascot, cheerleading will still always be her thing. Your protagonist should have deep thoughts and feelings that get explored, not just hinted at.
“The New Ron” - One of my most hated episodes for the way Kim treated Ron, but my rewrite would probably fix it. Ron agrees to a new haircut to appease Kim, and tries to like it but he’s miserable and he stays miserable. Kim learns she can be too pushy sometimes and needs to lay off, and Ron learns his best friend cares more about his feelings than his appearance, so it’s okay to say no to her. Your hero shouldn’t be causing harm to others just because she wants to; that’s not a hero, that’s a villain.
“Number One” - A few options for rewrites; Kim actually tries to prove she’s the better captain instead of just expecting Bonnie to fail on her own, or Bonnie stays captain and we get to explore how Kim handles not being in charge. Your character isn’t skilled and talented if she has everything handed to her instead of working for it.
Also, it would be nice if Will was actually competent, instead of taking credit for the mission. Give Kim an actual rival. Seriously, a highly-trained government agent isn’t on par with an amateur? It’s ridiculous. Your female protagonist isn’t good if you have to dumb down the world to make her shine.
“Sink or Swim” - Minor change; with how big Barkin is, and his military experience, he should’ve made more noise while being abducted. We could’ve had a shadow drag him off while he tells Kim to warn the others. That would’ve played into the horror movie parody quite nicely.
“Crush” - I feel like instead of Kim ignoring a call from Wade that was definitely important because Wade doesn’t make social calls, she should’ve just not gotten a call. I mean, how would Wade even know Ron was trapped in the closet anyways? Ron doesn’t have a Kimmunicator. It wouldn’t change much to be honest, and it also wouldn’t have Kim ignoring an urgent attempt at communication.
“October 31st” - Kim should take more precautions with the bracelet. Maybe it gets stuck to her wrist because the tweebs grab it and it gets stuck to her wrist in the ensuing fight. There’s also the issue of lying, but we could just have her nervous about spending time with Josh and having that be enough to set off the armor. That way, it’s basically the same plot, but without Kim being thoughtless, reckless, and deliberately misleading everyone she cares about.
“The Twin Factor” - Honestly, I would take out the whole “gag” about Kim using mind control on her brothers. The whole point of the episode is that mind control is wrong and bad, but the point gets muted when our hero is doing it to children. I’m not sure what gag I would replace it with, but nothing that jokes about mind control. I like that Kim’s parents were upset, but they should’ve been more upset. Outraged, even. And Kim should’ve faced actual consequences.
“Job Unfair” - I’m not sure this episode had a lesson. If it was meant to be “all jobs are important” then the lesson is pointless by having the “janitor” revealed to actually be a Canadian spy. Instead, we could have Kim decide to focus on her work-study anyways, and learn how to disable the weather machine by sheer coincidence, because the janitor is an actual janitor and not secretly a spy. As for Ron’s mentor, it could be revealed that the spy had been trying to get to Kim, but she was already taken by the janitor so he went to Ron instead.
“Grudge Match” - This episode had a scene where Ron mentions people might think he and Kim were on a date. Instead of using this as a moment to hint at Kim and Ron ending up together, Kim mocks and insults Ron for that statement. We could have Kim and Ron nervously discussing whether people think of them as a couple, before Kim (or Wade) brings them back to focus, but Kim mocking and insulting Ron for insinuating people might think they date is not a good way to hint at the endgame ship.
Also, I feel like instead of Kim “fudging” by telling Ron he might stand a chance with Zita, we should have her actually believe it could happen. This is a guy she supposedly develops romantic feelings for later, but instead of hinting at that, she apparently thinks he’s so much of a loser that even a girl none of them know anything about could do better.
“The Ron Factor” - I understand they had to change the ending of the episode because it was too sexist, but this episode chronologically takes place after “A Sitch in Time”, where we learn Ron is essential to Kim’s success (though no one remembers that timeline so I’ll cut them some slack there) and Ron defeated the villain this time. Not Kim, Ron. If they didn’t want it to seem like Ron was the secret to Kim’s success, they shouldn’t have made that a plot point of the movie, nor should they have Ron defeating the villain. Kim did almost nothing in this episode aside from telling Ron he was getting a big head (which he was) and complaining about GJ thinking Ron was the secret to her success (again, he was).
“Adventures in Rufus-Sitting” - I’ve talked about this episode before, so my rewrite is simple; have Kim take actual precautions with the microchip. We could still have Rufus accidentally eat it; maybe while looking for a snack he finds it and eats it. But Kim took no precautions with the top-secret microchip she was meant to guard, and that is seriously disappointing. If your female protagonist won’t take basic precautions with things she’s supposed to guard, she’s not a good guardian.
“Exchange” - When Kim decides she likes Hirotaka, she has Wade track his movements to arrange an “accidental” run-in with him to ask him out. She’s known him for less than a week and is already stalking him. It’s creepy and obsessive and this needs to not happen. Honestly, that whole scene could go like this; Kim returns from a mission, notices Hirotaka, panics, plays cool, decides to ask him out, continues as canon. If your female character is stalking her crush, it’s not funny, it’s creepy.
Interesting to note: Hirotaka looks a lot like Will Du’s original concept Ken Du.
“Queen Bebe” - Honestly, I do have complaints about this episode, and I’ve mentioned it in a previous post, but I’m not actually sure how I’d go about rewriting it. Kim’s inability to fulfill her obligations (that she volunteered for) is not only disappointing but also letting down her school. I can kind of understand her refusal to ask for help, especially from Bonnie, but at the very least, clubs and committees should be hesitant to let her join in the future because of this.
“Hidden Talent” - Not cool of Ron to sign Kim up for the talent show without talking to her about it first, but it definitely wasn’t cool of Kim to threaten Ron with physical violence over it. He might not have seemed afraid, but that doesn’t make it okay.
Honestly, it would be very in character for Kim to sign herself up because of anger and pride, so there was no need for Ron to do it.
“Return to Wannaweep” - Kim sabotages Bonnie, her own teammate, just because she wants a plastic stick painted gold. A stick she admits to only wanting so Bonnie can’t have it. Sure, Kim’s competitive. But this kind of competitiveness, sabotaging her own teammate to make herself stand out more, would get her kicked off the squad. Obviously, if they want Kim and Bonnie sabotaging each other, they should have Bonnie start it. Your heroine doesn’t get to be called a role model when she’s starting conflicts for her own personal interests.
Also, despite Gil having tried something evil before, Kim refuses to take any of Ron’s concerns about him seriously because she’s too preoccupied with her rivalry with Bonnie. A heroine ignoring potential danger because she doesn’t care is not a good heroine.
“Blush” - I can understand Kim wanting to go on a date with Josh, but he would’ve understood Kim needing to stay home for her own safety. She was at risk of literally disappearing.
“Oh Boyz” - Sure, everyone stopped liking the Oh Boyz, but the timing implies Kim stopped liking them specifically because Ron started liking them. I just feel like there’s too much of that in this show; Ron’s interests being “uncool” or “embarrassing”.
“Rewriting History” - This episode introduced interesting new layers to the characters and their relationships, except it didn’t because it was all a dream. I hate that. Honestly, I feel like the episode should have just ended with Kim saving Drakken and Shego and clearing her great-aunt’s name. No “it was all a dream” shenanigans.
“Showdown at the Crooked D” - Kim tricked Ron into going. He told her he wanted to laze about for the summer, she invited him to a place called The Lazy C, and then deliberately didn’t tell him until after they arrived and he had no way to back out that it was a working ranch. A lie by omission is still a lie. Your female hero shouldn’t be doing this to her friends.
"Emotion Sickness” - Another episode that could’ve hinted at Kim and Ron getting together, but instead Ron seemed uncomfortable with the whole idea. Nervous. Terrified. It didn’t seem like he wanted to be in a relationship with her. Having one character be uncomfortable with the idea of dating another is not a good way to hint at a ship.
"Bonding” - Mostly I hate that both Bonnie and Barkin were given character development, and then it’s gone for the rest of the series.
“Bad Boy” - Another episode to hint at a ship, and it didn’t do a good job. Having both characters be uncomfortable with the idea of dating each other doesn’t imply a ship either.
“Team Impossible” - As I mentioned, most of my frustration with this episode comes from the reason they gave for wanting Kim out of the business; profit. There are so many valid reasons, and Team Impossible could’ve been mentors. If you need to make the professionals incompetent for your character to stand out, your character isn’t good enough.
“And the Mole Rat Will Be CGI” - Honestly, my big issue here is that Kim, once again, is ignoring Ron’s feelings on something that will affect him.
“So The Drama” - I made a whole post about this, so I’ll be brief. Getting Kim and Ron together by introducing a “perfect” guy for Kim and then removing him as an option completely is lazy writing. I understand it was supposed to be the end of the series, but while we see a lot of Ron pining over Kim, we don’t see any of Kim possibly having feelings for Ron. The implication is that, if Eric were still an option, Kim and Ron wouldn’t be together. That’s not true love, that’s Ron being Kim’s rebound guy.
“The Big Job” - Kim complains about Ron using coupons to fund their dates, to high end expensive restaurants, but she never offers to pay. She is asking for more from Ron than he is able to give. And she, once again, has things literally handed to her. In this case, Monique literally gives her a job just so she could inspire Ron to get one.
“Fashion Victim” - I find it hard to believe Kim didn’t know she was risking Monique’s and Wade’s futures by trying to get them help her break the NDA Monique signed. She has worked on top-secret projects before; she’s definitely signed a few of those. Your heroine shouldn’t be risking others for her own gain.
“Grande Size Me” - The movie this episode was based off of has been proven to have been faked. This whole episode would need to be rewritten.
TW: This episode contains scenes that would be triggering for people with body image issues, eating disorders, or fears of Kaiju.
I did have more thoughts, but they felt too nitpicky. I tried to stick to the ones I had major problems with, and bolded the advice I would give on how to avoid some of those problems.
