Face app gender swap...again. đItâs Luke and Din this time!đ
I have some words about this idea.
First of all, I don't mean to go around saying "No, that can't happen" or "Your opinion is trash" or something along those lines. I just want to give my own opinions on this topic, honest and simple, take it or leave it.
Idk, I guess this is some slight spoiler territory? I'll put a border just in case.
Personally, I don't think Luke potentially appearing at the end could be compared to "Andor" for a number of reasons.
Firstly, "Andor" was specifically created to lead directly into "Rogue One". "Skeleton Crew" has so far been entirely its own thing with absolutely minimal tie-ins to other projects (like the New Republic X-Wing patrols and the rise of pirates) and minimal cameos (they could have easily shoed in Carson Teva or Zeb, or somebody like that). Vane is pretty much the only previously established character who has appeared and I personally don't find that problematic because it's not impossible to imagine a minor character like him to be hopping from crew to crew to make a living in the aftermath of "Mando" season 3.
As such, I think "Skeleton Crew" deserves a conclusion that is unique to itself, devoid of any immediate intermeddling of big names that honestly won't even lead into anything. Having Luke appear would be a neat cameo, but other than that, it would serve no purpose and honestly would even be detrimental to the entire build-up so far. The only real pay-off I can think of would be Wim finally meeting a real Jedi in the flesh, but other than that, there is basically nothing that has been set up so far that could justify Luke's presence. Nobody is seeking a Jedi mentor, nor has the threat of piracy become so apparent to the New Republic that they're considering bringing in their most powerful ally to deal with it.
Furthermore, as far as we know, the kids and SM-33 are the only ones who are actually aware that Jod is Force-sensitive. Nobody else so far has suggested that they know anything about that, not his crew, not his previous acquaintances. Therefore, it is unlikely Luke would even know about him at all since the last two times that we've seen/heard of him take up a pupil, one was dialing him directly through the Force and the other was his nephew.
Having said that, I do agree that having some sort of tie-in to a future story could be interesting, if it has a valid pay-off. Considering At Attin is the last Old Republic credit production planet, it isn't unlikely that it might become a key asset in the New Republic's development or even Thrawn's return.
So now that I've laid out those arguments, how do I find it justifyable to put a scene of building a piece of the Death Star in a series about the guy who will eventually steal the Death Star plans? Other than foreshadowing and fan service? We get to see just how much the Empire is desperate to manage and control every aspect of its populace, all the way down to having its criminals, big and small, rebels and jaywalkers, become nothing more than tiny, determined, replaceable cogs which build up its massive war machine amd how that despair eventually leads to it's downfall, both in the series with the impossible prison break and eventually with the destruction of the Death Star.
Plus the irony that Cassian is helping in the construction of something so monumental he will eventually help destroy, but I guess that can already fall under foreshadowing.
Now that Jod is decidedly proven to be a ruthless, Force using pirate who now has a lightsaber, itâs possible that Luke could show up in the finale. And if he does, I donât want to hear ANY cries about fan service or overuse, because A) Luke has appeared in precisely two episodes of any live action shows (not counting young Luke in Obi Wan), and he was the most underutilized character in the sequels (apart from Lando) and the one who suffered the most character assassination. He sure as hell hasnât been over utilized; and B) it makes as much in-universe sense for the last Jedi Master in the Galaxy to be interested in a Force sensitive ruthless pirate with a lightsaber who is on the trail of a long lost Old Republic planet that could potentially have Jedi relics hidden somewhere on the surface (and to have heard of it through his New Republic contacts in regard to underworld/Imperial Remnant buildup) as it does for a main member of the strike team to steal the Death Star plans to have once been put to work by the Empire building panels for the Death Star superlaser while in prison for jaywalking.
ask star wars fandom to explain why it's noble, heroic, and the height of compassion for luke to go to vader and ask for vader to come away with him, but why the common take is that it was pathetic, immoral, and stupid of padme to do the same thing (despite padme knowing anakin better, having a more personal relationship with anakin, and anakin having done just by the numbers a couple less murders) and then watch it shit itself to death as it rapidly tries to explain that No It's Feminism Actually
obi wan having his big talk introduction ⢠with luke : ahhh, you're a great kid, you'll be an awesome jedi just like your dad, don't worry about it lukey âşď¸âşď¸âşď¸
yoda: oh you think you got what it takes to be a jedi, you impatient bitchass pussy? smh you're just like your bastard father, virgin loser. listen, i run these streets of dagobah and i don't even know this yoda guy you're talking about, weirdo. now, i'm gonna steal your food, you're gonna eat some gross ass food i'll cook and then give me twenty headstands. matter of fact, make it forty and i might let you speak to your dead mentor. capisce blondie?

Serious question to Star Wars and Mandalorian Fans:
Since Luke is going to take Grogu in as his Padawan, does that mean Kylo Ren is also going to kill him later on?
Please tell me no, because the thought alone makes me sad...
Has this been asked before?
Today I was posting on a thread in RPG.net about using Canon Characters and Franchise Settings when, quite unexpectedly, I wrote this lengthy explanation of how Luke Skywalker would work as a Chuubo Main Character if Star Wars were a GMD-style campaign rather than a movie series.
I'm actually pretty happy with it, so I'm gonna put it here so I don't lose it.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Let's imagine Star Wars wasn't a movie but a game like Chuubo. Â You'd get a character playbook that says:
"Your name is Luke Skywalker, you're an orphan farm boy with a grand destiny to become a Jedi Knight! Â OR you could be:
Lulu Skywalker, an orphan farm GIRL with a grand destiny to become a Jedi Knight!
Lu'twach Skeewakka, an orphan wookie with a grand destiny to become a Jedi Knight!
Luke Amida, an orphan farm boy with a grand destiny to become an Ace Rebel Pilot!
Luke Skrontmeer, an orphan farm boy with a grand destiny that he's not sure of!
You'd get a list of generic but customizable starting Quests -- A Basic Quest that relates to being a farm boy out of your element; a Side Quest about befriending some droids, a Storyline Quest about being drawn off the farm and discovering a Wise Mentor.
You'd also get a generic Quest Set for someone on your Knightly path. Â A very VERY quick Knight Arc Luke Quest set would be...
The Legendary Deeds of Luke Skywalker...
Knight 1: Â Greater Things (Where you find a Mentor and are exposed to a new problem)
Knight 2: Â The Dark Side (Where you discover your flaw and stumble because of it)
Knight 3: Â Losing Things (Where you lose a mentor/lose faith/lose a hand)
And then the two optional:
Knight 4: Â Get Back on the Horse (Where you get back into the path of Destiny)
Knight 5: Â Balance (Where you face an Unbalanced Rival (a Walker in Darkness; like you but failing in their Vice) and defeat/befriend/mitigate them by your own control of your Vice)
Finally, you'd get some glimpses as to how this Quest Set can be arranged into Arcs that can be built into a campaign:
The Balance Arcs
Arc 1: Â Luke Skywalker, A New Hope (Where the Jedi Knight finds that he is the only hope to keep the Rebellion from collapsing to the Evil Empire)
Arc 2: Â Luke Skywalker, Among the Clouds (Where the Jedi Knight is Betrayed and Learns a Secret About His Past)
Arc 3: Â Luke Skywalker, A Very Personal War (Where the Jedi Knight Must Find a Way to Bring a Star-Spanning War to a Close)
Arc 4+5: Â Luke Skywalker, the Extended Universe (Where Other Things Happen - because I don't know the EU and can't really figure another whole Luke-centric Knight Arc out of the original trilogy)
So, if you lived in a world where Star Wars didn't exist but the Chuubo Star Wars game did, you could (By combining the Jedi Knight with the Smuggler, the Machine Conscience, the Rebel Noble, and (heck, maybe) the Treacherous Prince) approximate the entire plot of Star Wars just by going through those Arcs... Â but you could also end up somewhere else entirely! Â You'd have a general road map to a type of story without ever actually revealing more than a few landmarks of the story underneath.
now for smth completely different lol. my professor is a big star wars fan so school assignment was to put star wars characters in a different time period/place so my cringe ass put them in a 2010s anime lmao, im pleased with how it looks tho and prof seemed to like it so yay
Even tho this is a continuation of an AU it was also my gift for the @stardads DinLuke Secret Santa! I was so hype to get Pacific rim AU for a prompt!! Hope yall had a good holiday season and enjoy this update!
Little excerpt from the wip under the cut.
Din stepped out of the helicopter to sheets of rain pouring down on him. He raised a hand to try and block the water from his eyes to little success. He watched as Ahsoka jogged down the landing pad towards two figures and thought it was best to follow suit.Â
Before he could get a good look at anyone an umbrella was shoved into his hand, which solved the rain problem at least. That found him face to face with two figures, one he recognized and one he didnât.Â
âThis is Marshal Skywalker, though Iâm sure you already know that,â Ahsoka said. Din took the Marshalâs proffered hand and shook it quickly.Â
âHello sir, itâs been a while,â Din stumbled out. Skywalker was just as intimidating as he remembered. Tall, burn scars on his neck, and intense eyes that spoke of years of experience in the k-war.Â
âGlad you could join us. Youâre a hard man to find Djarin.âÂ
âThat was the point,â Din blurted out before he could think better. The only thing that seemed to save him was Ahsokaâs small chuckle at the comment.
âMr. Djarin, this is Luke, heâs in charge of the Mark Three restoration program.â The other figure stepped forward from his place behind the Marshal. Din recognized him from the news coverage Grogu made him watch, but he was much different in person. On TV he was easy, almost cocky smiles and casual postures. Here, he was stern, with a military stiffness to his shoulders. He stared up at Din with bright blue eyes, not unlike the color of Kaiju Blue.Â
Din found himself intrigued by the pilot, the difference between him on the TV and now. It wasn't just his demeanor either, sure he looked charming in interviews, but even with his hard stare, and his blonde hair matted down by the humidity, he was striking. He looked almost too soft to be a pilot, the only thing betraying his profession was the small scar on his upper lip. He was also young, couldn't be much older than 21 if Din had to guess. He certainly hadn't been a pilot back when Din had been, which also betrayed his age beyond his looks.Â
âHe personally handpicked the list of your potential co-pilots,â Marshal Skywalker continued.Â
âWait, I thought you were a pilot. Why are you doing restoration?â Din asked. The glare that earned him from Luke was chilling. He opened his mouth to respond but was cut off by the Marshal.Â
âWith Red Five destroyed and his co-pilot out of commission, Ranger Skywalker has been reassigned.â At that, Lukeâs glare shifted towards the Marshal but it was carefully ignored.Â
âHow about we go inside before we discuss anything further,â Ahsoka suggested. No one could really argue with that, so they all headed through the thick metal doors into the Shatterdome.Â
As they entered, Luke grabbed Dinâs umbrella and placed it in a bucket near the door. With a lurch the large elevator they had stepped into began its descent.Â
âRanger Skywalker?â Din said, gaining Lukeâs attention. âYouâre related to the Marshal?âÂ
âHeâs my father,â Luke answered. His voice was tight, a slight furrow to his brow left over from whatever had slighted him before. Din wasnât too surprised, most pilots were proud. If Luke had been grounded due to his Jaeger being out of commission he probably took that as a slight against his abilities.Â
âI heard Red Five was out of commission last month,â Grogu had been inconsolable after hearing about the destruction of his favorite Jaeger. âI didnât know it was piloted by the Marshalâs son.â
âWe try to keep it out of the media,â Luke explained. âNot really a secret, but thereâs no reason to advertise it either. Makes both our jobs easier.â Din caught the pained expression on the Marshalâs face from the corner of his eye. But as soon as it was there it was gone and the Marshal spoke up again.Â
âFirst weâll give you a tour of the facility and then Ranger Skywalker will show you to your Jaeger. First thing in the morning weâll find you your co-pilot.âÂ
âMarshal, youâre aware that Iâm not drift compatible with most pilots, right?â Din inquired. It had been something nagging at the back of his head since heâd agreed to this mess. He wanted to keep Grogu safe, no matter how much he dreaded getting back into a Jaeger, but if he couldnât even find a co-pilot this would all be for nothing.Â
âYouâre the only Mark Three pilot left, itâs our best bet to have you in Razor Crest for this mission,â the Marshal explained.Â
âWait, you restored the Crest?â Din looked from the Marshal to Ahsoka.Â
âWhoops, did I forget to mention that?â Ahsoka said with a poorly masked smile.Â
Din was a bit unsure how to feel. Heâd spent his best years in the Crest back in the day, but it had also been the site of his greatest failure. Before he could fall down that train of thought something else caught him up.
âHold on, what mission? No one has told me exactly whatâs happening here.â Before he could get a response the elevator doors opened and everyone was shuffling out. As they approached two heavy metal doors a worker moved to a lever to open them. With loud creaks the doors shifted to the side revealing the center of the Shatterdome.
I would kill to see them in the CWs style.
I said it before, and I'll say it again. I'd watch the FUCK out of an clone wars animated show featuring Leia, Luke, Han and Chewie post Return of the Jedi. Make it an adventure of the week or some shit, I'll watch it.
Give me Luke searching for Jedi artefacts. Trying to set up his own school.
Give me Leia working on Chandrilla trying to get the New Republic going with Mon Mothma.
Give me Han trying to fit in with Leia's lifestyle and also going off on his own adventures. Or even accompaning Luke on his.
Give me Leia and Luke bonding as siblings. And her struggling with who Vader was to her, all while searching for more info on her birth mother. Allow her to grive her planet and family properly.
I don't know, just give them to me. Clone Wars was such a great inside to what was going on with Anakin, Obi-Wan and Padme. Let's just do it again, without using AI faces and bending backwards to write off Leia not apearing in a show or some shit.
JUST MAKE THEM AN ANIMATED SHOW LIKE THEY DESERVE FILONI!
Pt.1 | Pt.2 | Pt.3
Posting part four of this for a slightly late Star Wars day post. (It's technically still May 4th for me).
I had a lot of fun designing/drawing their drivesuits. I've always been a fan of drawing armor, so this was definitely my comfort zone.
More sneak peeks for this WIP fic under the cut, for funzies. And may the 4th be with you!
Din rolls his shoulders in his drivesuit as he makes his way through the shatterdome. After all these years he thought it might be odd to get back into the suit, but it's like he never left. It's almost uncanny how natural it feels to put on the old polycarbonate armor.
After the confrontation between Marshal Skywalker and Luke, Din isn't sure what to expect as he makes his way to the Crest's conn-pod. It was clear Luke was the best candidate, even ignoring their drift compatibility, he was the only other person who had experience in an actual Jaeger. It made no sense for the Marshal to keep Luke grounded from a strategical standpoint, so it must be personal.
It didn't take a genius to realize that the relationship between the Marshal and his son was strained. Din didn't have the first clue as to why, but despite it, he understood where the Marshal was coming from. Even with everything on the line, he's not sure he could ever willingly put his son's life on the line. Thinking about it, Din is surprised that the Marshal even let Luke pilot for as long as he did. If Grogu grew up wanting to be a pilot, if the war lasted that long, Din isn't sure he'd be able to handle it.
But the way Luke and him fought. His skin was still electric from the way they met strike for strike. Din can't imagine piloting with anyone else after that. He isn't sure he'll even be compatible enough with any of the other candidates. Then what? Will he just go home? Watch from the sidelines as they make a run for the breech? He isn't sure what's worse, being unsuccessful here and watching his slow death on the TV, or being unsuccessful at the breech. Either way he'll die knowing he failed, failed the world, failed his son. He can't let that happen. So he'll just have to succeed. And the only way to do that is with Luke.
Din had just made up his mind when he approached the scaffolding that would lead him to the Crest's conn-pod. He was about to turn around and find the Marshal when a familiar figure walked towards him.
"Luke..?" Din trailed off. Luke was wearing a shiny black drivesuit and a sunny smile.
"Looks like I won that bet after all." Luke jogs over to Din's side, giving him a friendly punch on the arm before making his way to the ladder.
Din stays frozen for a long moment, unsure of what to make of the situation. He just stares as Luke begins to climb the ladder up to the conn-pod, helmet under his arm. Halfway up Luke pauses and turns towards him, meeting his gaze.
"You coming or not, partner?" Luke asks with a smile bordering on mischievous.
Din can't but help but return a small smile before jogging to catch up to Luke.

Just a cute little moment before reliving â¨trauma⨠in the drift!
Pt.1 | Pt.2 | Pt.4
Welcome to part 3 of my madness as I continue to take inspiration from scenes in the movie. This is when Din get's a full view of Luke's scars (and is caught looking) not long after the drift compatibility tryouts. He still doesn't know of their origins, but he might find out soon đđđ (More info under the cut if you're interested).
Anyways, hope my insanity entertains y'all! There's still plenty more to come and perhaps even more in the works.
P.S. All the love that this idea has been shown has been a great motivator for me to work on the fic. So thank you to everyone who's interacted with these posts and have shown their interest. Glad to know I'm not alone in being interested in a niche ship and a 10 year old movie crossover.
More info about Luke's Scars: It starts with part of the timeline I've formulated.
2027 - Luke becomes a pilot with Biggs.
January, 2028 - Death of Paz; Birth of Grogu; Din leaves the Jaeger program
August, 2028 - Death of Biggs; Luke is injured;
2029 - Leia becomes a pilot and is Luke's new partnerÂ
So, essentially Luke joined the program very young (17) while Leia was still studying politics with the Organas. Biggs was Luke's drift partner and they piloted together for a year.
The destruction of Razor Crest and the death of Paz/disappearance of Din marked the turning point for the Jaeger program. Not long after that incident the Jaegers were struggling to fight back against the onslaught of Kaiju. More frequent attacks along with higher category Kaiju started to wear them thin.
In a particularly dicey situation, Luke and Biggs were deployed on their own to deal with a CATIII Kaiju while backup was on the way. Despite how skilled the two were, the Kaiju overwhelmed them before backup could come and their Con Pod was ripped from their Jaeger. The damage caused an energy serge through the pilot suits causing Luke to get his scars. Those injuries, plus the ones from getting tossed onto shore, also resulted in Bigg's death.
After hearing about this, and while Luke was recovering. Leia decided to join the program and began her training. By the time Luke was recovered she was graduating cadet school and they were able to pilot together. It took some time for Luke to get used to piloting again after being connected to someone who died, but he trained himself to feel the serenity in the drift and keep those memories at bay. Luke's control while in the drift is next to no one except maybe Anakin, but he hasn't piloted in a long time, so it's hard to say.
Speaking of Anakin, he isn't supper happy about his children being pilots, but there wasn't much he could do to dissuade them. After Padme's death during a Kaiju attack, and Anakin subsequently blaming himself for it, he threw himself into the program. He wasn't able to raise the twins because he was on duty so they were raised by Owen and Beru as well as mentored by the Organas (mostly Leia).
Leia is resentful of Anakin for leaving them when they were so young and had just lost their mother. Luke mostly blames himself in an unreasonable way and thinks he wasn't worth enough for Anakin to stick around. The reason Anakin did leave was so he could try to stop the Kaiju and make the world safe for his kids. However, in the process, he may have lost the time he could have had with them.
Pt.1 | Pt.3 | Pt.4
Another addition to this AU because It's been living in my head rent free for ages. I can't do a Pacific Rim AU without recreating the iconic Kwoon scene. Also, I was too lazy to draw backgrounds so I just stole them from the movie  ¯\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Under the cut is a teaser of the fic I'm trying to write. It's a first draft, so there's probably some mistakes. Also, I'm still kind of in Screen Writing mode from school, so please don't mind if there's not a lot of internal character narration.
âFour points to two,â Luke calls after the final candidate falls. His emotions are carefully masked on his face but Din can see how tense he is.Â
âWeâre wasting time, Marshal. Heâs barely compatible with any of them, this isnât going to work,â Luke says.
âWhat do you suggest?â The Marshal raises a brow.Â
âPut me in charge, Iâm drift compatible with several cadets. We donât need him.â Luke gestures towards Din. The look on his face makes Dinâs blood boil. Contempt. What did he ever do to Luke to earn this?
âWhatâs your problem, Skywalker?â Din stomps towards the edge of the mat.Â
âIâve already told you, I donât think you're the right man for the job,â Luke replies. Heâs now turned squarely towards Din, his face back to that eerie calm. It sends a shiver down Dinâs spine.Â
âNo, thereâs more. Youâve got a problem with me.â Din steps closer, trying to ignore the piercing blue of Lukeâs eyes.Â
âEnough! both of you.â Marshal Skywalker turns to them both.Â
âIf you think youâre so much better, then letâs go.â Din points his bĹ at Luke. âIf you win, you can pilot the Crest. If I win, you back off.â Din holds Luke's gaze, projecting his challenge.Â
âNeither of you are in the position to make that decision,â Anakin states, breaking the spell.Â
âWhat? Think your own blood isnât good enough to beat me?â Din didnât know Marshal Skywalker that well, but from what he did know, the man was prideful. Maybe it wasnât the smartest move, but it got him what he wanted.Â
The Martial turned towards Luke, earning his attention. No words were exchanged between them, the Martial simply gave a nod. A brief look of satisfaction washed over Lukeâs face. Din turned towards the mat to prepare for the fight before Lukeâs eyes turned back to him.Â
Luke stepped to the edge of the mat, shoes and outer shirt removed. He bowed at the waist before stepping forward. He was in a simple black tank top and the standard cargo pants. It was the first time Din had seen any of his skin exposed beyond his face. His arms and neck were covered in pale, lightning-like scars that looked like they extended beyond what Din could see. He wasnât sure what to make of them. He knew almost nothing about Luke when he really thought about it. Only what he heard from the news from the past four years.
He had to admit, it made him earn a little more respect for the kid. At first heâd seemed like a petulant child who was getting his favorite toy taken away, but now, Din wasnât as sure that was the case. He had no more time to think on it as he and Luke passed each other on the mat, walking to opposite sides, then turning to face each other.Â
In the blink of an eye Luke swung his bĹ with the finesse of a warrior. He moved forward before stopping in the middle of the mat as he pulled his bĹ up in defense. Din followed suit, taking on a more aggressive starting position. He could tell Luke was analyzing him, eyes flitting around to every point of his body. Din took the opportunity to attack. In one swift moment he had his bĹ mimicking a strike at Lukeâs skull.Â
âOne, Zero.â The words had barely left his mouth before Luke made a counter attack. In a flash Luke had reversed their positions with a satisfied smirk.Â
Without wasting any more time the two began to fight again in an explosion of movement. The people in the kwoon reacted to them, but Dinâs focus narrowed in until it was only them in the room. He watched Lukeâs movements carefully, anticipating and blocking every attack that came and returning his own. He picked up on a franticness in Lukesâs movements and took advantage, landing an attack on his ribs.Â
âYouâre too eager, youâre projecting your moves,â Din commented as they reset.Â
âI donât need your advice.â Despite his words, Luke waited, ready for Dinâs next move.Â
Luke swiftly blocked everything Din threw at him and pushed back even harder. In the next moment Luke attacked with a flurry of blows, catching Din off guard. He was stronger than he looked.Â
âTwo, two.â Luke had once again evened the score.Â
There was barely a pause before they were at it again. This bout lasted longer than the others, both having picked up on each otherâs gambit. They danced around each other, the only sound in Dinâs ears were the clacking of their bĹ staffs and their heavy breathing. Neither was holding back.Â
In a blur of motion Luke darted towards Dinâs legs, throwing him off balance. Din rolled out of the throw but as he lifted his head he was met with Lukeâs bĹ to his throat. Luke's eyes were no less intense this close.Â
âTwo, Three.â Luke stepped back into a ready position. âBetter watch out, Djarin.â There was a satisfied smirk on his face. He was winning. Din wouldnât give up that easily.Â
He pulled out every trick he had, but Luke seemed to always be a step ahead. He was too fast, almost as if he could read Dinâs mind. From the outside it would almost look like this was rehearsed. In the end, it was Dinâs weight advantage that won him the point. He moved in close and pinned Luke's arm before throwing him down to the mat. The blond hit the ground on his back, breath escaping his lungs from the impact.Â
Din almost went to help him up but Luke threw his legs backwards into a handstand before standing back up. He barely looked affected, the only sign of fatigue on him was the sweat on his forehead that matted down his blond hair.Â
âThree, Three,â Din called. âAnd thereâs no need to show off.âÂ
The next point would declare a winner. There was a smile on Lukeâs face, different from the ones before. This one was more open, leaving Din feeling dizzy instead of insulted.Â
Din tried to understand it but there was no more time to ponder as Luke set on his next attacks. He was more aggressive than heâd been the rest of the fight but Din pushed back, not without some difficulty. Luke danced around Din with a frightening agility. The only thing that kept Din in the fight for so long were his reflexes. He knew he had to end this fight soon or Luke would eventually wear him down.Â
In a decisive move Din attacked at Lukeâs head, trading off his defense for offense. He had Luke on the move, nearly pushing him off the mat. However, before he could land a finishing blow Luke darted to the side, slipping his leg between Dinâs and toppling him to the floor. When Din processed what happened, he was pinned under Lukeâs hips on his chest and his bĹ at his neck.Â
Cheers erupted from the gathered crowd, but Dinâs view had narrowed into Luke as he stood up. Din stayed on the ground, still a bit stunned from the end of the fight. He wasnât really sure how to feel about its outcome. But one thing was for certain, he and Luke were drift compatible. Very drift compatible.Â
Din was so lost in his thoughts he didnât even realize Luke was reaching down to him until his hand was in his face. He took it and allowed Luke to help him to his feet.Â
âYou felt it too, didnât you?â Luke asked.
âYeah.â
Pt.2 | Pt.3 | Pt.4
This idea has been brewing in my mind for a while now. There have been some discussions in the dinluke server that boosted those ideas even more. I've been wanting to post all the art I've done for a while but I've been nervous and also wanted to get an idea for a fic.
I am absolutely obsessed with Pacific Rim and dinluke, so this seemed like a logical combination. So if anyone wants to listen to my rants about this stuff I could literally ramble for hours.
This is also inspired by a screencap from Pacific Rim, so if anyone knows it I love you. I have so much more art to post so I'll be occasionally posting with extra info about this AU.
Luke has been a pilot since he was a teen, along with Leia. Din used too be a pilot with Paz but after Paz was killed during a Kaiju attack Din suddenly left the Jager program. This scene is Luke showing Din around the Hong Kong Shatterdome and the newly restored 'Razor Crest' the last MKIII Jaeger intact.
The best part about Luke Skywalker in my opinion, like the best part of his character, is that he's a good person first and foremost. Like the dude just wants to help and make things better for everyone.
And what I appreciate even more in star wars is that Luke wins exactly because of this. It isn't cuz he is destined to be a super powerful Jedi, it isn't cuz he's a great warrior. He doesn't win via a display of power, he won cuz he was being nice to Vader, and being nice to Vader is what brings Anakin back, it inspires Anakin to do the right thing to save Luke. Dude saves the galaxy because he's a nice guy. That's literally it.
Luke saves the galaxy because he was raised as a good person. The Jedi stuff was just bonus. Sure he's powerful and super force but at the base, what he remains is just a wholesome kid who wants everyone to smile. And that is precisely why he's one of my favourite heroes in all of fiction.
dinluke d&d romance where din and luke are both pretty popular players from two different online shows - dins group a bit more classic d&d and lukeâs table plays a more relaxed, experimental game- but they end up collaborating together as a players in a mini charity campaign and from the moment they meet luke is just smitten with dinâs quiet charm and encyclopedic knowledge of the game that makes him the more chaotic player in the room and heâs so immediately attracted to him that luke makes it his mission to make dinâs character fall in love with his - only to remember he made a joke character that was voted on by fans- so instead of trying to romance dinâs stalwart half-elf paladin as a fire genasi bard named Burnz Stuph, luke just really earnestly tries to make them best friends while also letting the story-telling happen naturally, following the dice and having things play out as they may and whatnot- and he gets so caught up in just playing the game he loves that it takes him by complete surprise when at the end of their little campaign dinâs characters asks his out that luke ends up falling off his chair (yes, it becomes a meme)- cause it turns out that while he was so engrossed in the game he failed to notice that he was, indeed, successfully romancing both din and his pc and that both of their collective fandoms have been freaking out over their chemistry and the pc romance and luke. hadnât. noticed. anyways, at the wrap party afterwards din asks luke out for real and they become one of those beloved d&d couples who play in campaigns together every now and then and one day in the future they hold another charity event where they bring back their characters from that first one they ever played together and din surprises luke by proposing and they break the nerd internet for a bit
My take on who star wars characters godly parents would be!
Luke and Leia are both kids of Aphrodite.
For Luke, I feel like he would have powerful charm speak and much like Leia, be the strongest person in combat in a room despite being underestimated by everyone based on appearance. I also love the idea of the twins having everyone fall in love with them all the time (I think they would make a bit out of it). Some casual Din/Luke is also in this aesthetic (more on Din later).
Leia aesthetic for being a daughter of Aphrodite.
I think that Leia would have been claimed sooner than Luke was (coming to camp when she was younger) and thus she knows how to control her charm speak more than Luke does. She would also be more of a realist with love as she has had her fair share of insincere suitors.
Leia would also be the best shooter at camp half blood. Some Leia/Han is also in this aesthetic!
Han would be the son of Hermes.
He is always traveling, good at thievery/cunning actions, and is a good navigator. I think that he would be sent on his first quest with Luke and Leia (before Luke is claimed) and would be micro managing their travels.
He constantly tries to beat Leia at shooting but they both know that he isn't as good as she is (Leia/Han is also incorporated in this aesthetic).
Din would be the son of Hephaestus.
This one took me a while but honestly it fits.
I think that beyond the armor (which he would 100% wear at camp half blood), he is also super efficient at doing repairs (but not as much as his fellow Hephaestus kid Peli), and uses fire. He would have gone on a lot of quests and is experienced in it (his bounty hunting).
I also just love the idea of a Hephaestus and Aphrodite kid being togethers (thus Din/Luke is in this aesthetic too).
Finally, Lando.
He would be a son of Dionysus. He has the right vibes:
Strong, fun, goes with the flow, and a bit sneaky. He would totally be an enjoyer of good theater and wine.
I like to think that he and Han have been camp besties for a while. He definitely would be the type of person to go on one quest (which was the most important one) and just have so much credit from then on thus making him the person everyone wants on a quest.
Anyways, thank you for coming to my ted talk, please lmk what you think or any characters I should do!
Since creators were revealed here's my piece from the DinLuke server Secret Santa! I had a lot of fun participating and seeing everyone's work.
Hope y'all had a great holiday season!
OK I've hyped myself up enough to post this. I wrote a dinluke inspired song! This idea has been rattling around in my head for a while but got hit by a wave of motivation a couple days ago. Hope y'all enjoy!
Thanks to the wonderful people on the dinluke server for giving me enough confidence to post this here. Their kind words really eased my anxiety.
Also- the lyrics are in the description of the video if anyone wants to see them and the Mando'a I used.
(Note, I'm not a professional musician, so forgive my mediocre performance and production)
@codywanweek day 2: tatooine husbands
this one was so fun to draw bc I love the idea of tatooine husbands and also the idea of obi-wan and cody raising luke dehchbbuhdwchhb
luke is a sleeby boy
close ups under the cut :]
I have too many DinLuke ideas and I need opinions other than my own. What should I focus on first? I'm crippled by decision making. (I'll put more detailed descriptions below the cut if you care about that)
Feel free to comment any other opinions, I am struggling with the indecision. And if anyone wants to scream with me about any of these ideas I would welcome it with open arms :)
Meet Pre ANH AU: Din and Luke meet while Din is on a job on Tatooine and Luke inserts himself into Din's job (because he's bored) Din gets injured and has to spend time recovering under Luke's care and they fall for each other. Din has to leave once he recovers and promises to come back for Luke as soon as possible but, unbeknownst to both of them, Luke is pregnant.
Fantasy AU: Sort of a King Arthur vibe with Din finding the Darksaber and needing to reclaim the ancient kingdom of Mandalore. Din doesn't desire the throne, simply wanting to take care of Grogu (a boy he saved from a band of thieves) but he can't avoid his destiny. Luke is a Druid who wants to teach Grogu, who has Druid abilities, how to use magic and ends up assisting Din on his quest. The usual suspects also show up and help along the way.
Post S2 canon divergence: This is just my take on a slow burn gffa dinluke with a lot of the usual tropes. Mostly just "the wacky adventures of The Jedi and The Mandalorian: acquire children" because I need more of that in my life.
Greek Mythology AU: Luke is the demigod son of Anakin, the god of the heavens. He grew up to be a renowned hero, as many demigods do, and was sent on many quests. His newest quest sends him to the underworld to deliver a gift to the god of the dead. Little does he know, a vengeful god and the king who sent him on his quest have set him up. When Luke gets to underworld he finds out that he was meant to be the gift. Now he has to deal with Din, the god of the dead, who is outraged by Luke's arrival.
Apocalypse AU: The world has been taken over by a sickness that horrifically mutates people, animals, and even plants into killing machines. Din is just another survivor trying to make it through another day but finds his priorities change when he meets Grogu. Not long after taking in the child, Din realizes that the young boy has the ability to influence the creatures that have taken over the world. When people come after Grogu for his abilities Din has to put his trust into a mysterious man, Luke, to keep his son safe.
Medieval fantasy AU: The new Duke of Mandalore, Din Djarin, comes to Coruscant, the capital of the United Republic of Kingdoms, to sign treaties and make alliances. Many people expect Din to marry to strengthen his position so all eyes are on him, much to his discomfort. Meanwhile the Skywalker family's position is threatened by old enemies, leaving them vulnerable to attack. To solve both their problems Luke and Din get married, but now they have to convince everyone that this is a love match and not a marriage of convenience.
Harry Potter AU: This was mostly inspired by a comedy bit pointing out that Harry Potter was just Star Wars but with shitty lightsabers. The story would take place during the tri-wizard tournament and follow a similar storyline to the original. However, this has a focus on the romance between Din and Luke (obviously), the champion from Mandalore (Durmstrang) and the chosen one respectively. (Also I can make Luke trans just to stick it to JKR)
Spy X Family AU: Luke is a spy sent to look after Grogu who is an asset to the republic. Din found Grogu first on a job and is informed of Groguâs importance by the mandos (mercenary guild). Republic wants Grogu to become a politician that can unite the two factions (Republic and Imperials). Mandos want Grogu to be knowledgeable of Mandalorians and be sympathetic to their causes. Both want Grogu to go to this elite school (has family requirements) that lead to Din and Luke making a fake family with Grogu to further the goals of their respective sides.
DinLuke week day 5 - Prince/Protector AU
Once again this was an excuse to draw Luke in the PadmĂŠ drip. I absolutely love this dress so I had to draw it. So here it is, Prince of Naboo Luke and Knight/Bodyguard Din.
Close up and nighttime version under the cut.
Backgrounds are hard.
Mark Hamill is a legend but I think it's time to recast. (They've already done it anyway with Solo)
Graham Hamilton as Luke Skywalker BTS Shots of The Book of Boba Fett
He's so adoraaable. He's giving "Padme's favorite child" energy đ⨠Post ROTJ Luke would work so well on him.
DinLuke week day 4 - meet pre ANH
Something about these AUs hit different for me and I love it. If I ever get the motivation I'm definitely going to write a meet pre ANH au where Din actually sticks around for some of the OT plot. Nothing major because I think he would still not want to get super involved in the rebellion, but he'd do things to help Luke.
In any case, enjoy this little Keldabe kiss. (Luke's hair was actually so fun to draw, even though I struggle with blonde hair a lot.) Close ups under the cut.
Luke with sunspots from living on Tatooine gives me life. I need more of that shit. (idk if they're even visible rn but I swear I put them there.)
DinLuke week day 3 - Battle couple
Action poses are hard and you can definitely tell who I focused on for that. Anywaaaay, excuse how dark this piece is because I'm still trying to figure out the lighting settings on my drawing tablet.
DinLuke week day 1 - Mand'alor & Alo'riduur
Uhhh here we go I guess, my first art post ever on Tumblr and it's DinLuke. I almost never draw fan art but thanks to DinLuke week I've now drawn several pieces for these two. I love them. I couldn't help it even if I wanted to.
On another note, I really liked doing the lighting for this! I also got to draw Luke in PadmĂŠ inspired fit which is one of my favorite things. Luke is a fashion icon and he must follow in the footsteps of his amazing mother.
Slight close up to get those details I worked way too hard on. As a note, the pattern on Luke's outer robe was hand drawn because all the pattern brushes I found didn't look quite right. So yeah.
Dressing Luke~
