One thing that I haven't seen many people talk about is just how great og pekes and pollicles is???
like not to be a hater but I kinda don't like the 2016 version of it (where it's moved to after gus) cuz while it makes sense the execution is kinda meh??

The whole point of it is to show these "perfect cats" messing everything up!!!
and you take that out???? (not to mention the lack of bagpipes tugger is so sad rip)
and gus singing it isn't bad (he does a pretty good job) but like....
it was basically munkustrap's song. Without the cats messing it up and munk getting mad at them, munk is just "perfect protector guy" and frankly, that's less interesting than having him tired theater dad-ing :( it's like seeing another side of him and I love that!
the number has so much personality that just gets taken away :(((
I get why they moved it, to replace growltiger (obvs) and it was kinda in an awkward spot, sandwiched in between old deuteronomy and jellicle ball, but it never feels jarring in that spot (maybe cuz the whole musical is jarring lmao)
it really scares you with the macavity scare cuz you just had this really silly number and then BANG
(I get why some productions (rccl lol) cut it tho, the whole needing extra costume pieces + not introducing any new characters makes it a really easy number to cut)
What makes me sad is that you can still put it after gus the theater cat and still make it just as charming!!
like what if munk was trying to hide the fact that they're messing it up from gus or smth?that would be adorable T-T
but instead they just perform it perfectly like all the other numbers and it makes it really forgettable :((

all i do is sit in my college courses and think about Cats. earth science class is like âthis is a rockâ and iâm like âoh haha. that rock is grey. like. like munkustrap. from. from cats.â and then they euthanize me in the parking lot
The thing that really gets me when people talk about Cats as âall the characters compete to see who gets to dieâ is that literally nowhere does in the text or subtext of the show does it say that the ball is a competition???? Like Old Deuteronomy makes the Jellicle Choice at the end of the night, but heâs not even present for every song by a âcompetitorâ so it literally makes less sense when you add that spin to it. Theyâre just talking about themselves because theyâre cats and thatâs what they love more than anything else

I feel as though the 1998 Cats film should've cut out a few verses of the opening song, maybe restructure it a little, so that maybe, MAYBE they could include Mistoffelees's Conjuring Turns. I really do like Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats, it's a fantastic opener, but sometimes I feel like it could stand to be shorter, since parts of it is just repeating the same verse.
It is a CRIME that they had to cut that part out, that's like...one of the most impressive parts of a dance sequence in the show. đ
Don't get me wrong, all the dance sequences/parts are great, but the Conjuring Turns is like the star of the Mr. Mistoffelees song
I know we donât like to talk about the movie, but
Maitre Dâ from the 2019 version of Cats
Like, some bits of the movie were actually pretty good and I loved the added in characters, especially Maitre Dâ. I just find him to be such a cutie pie and I think itâd be cute to see him and Mistoffelees following Bustopher around during his musical number. Maybe heâs Mistoâs father, as Bustopher is always considered to be the magicianâs uncle! I just love him so much and would love to him in a future production
Last night I had a dream where Munkustrap was in a pixelated computer game and he had to defeat Thrakkorzog or something. He shot out electric shocks when you pressed X and coughed up a hairball when you pressed space. âExtra Nerdyâ was his big move and itâd put the enemy to sleep for a moment.
It was eventful
I love trying different styles and seeing how they work for me. Needless to say, I like the one I used for Victoria a little bit more than Electraâs, but Exoticaâs is okay. Iâm not keeping these though. I drew them for my aunt, along with several others I wonât be posting because I did use styles from actual artists I looked up and donât wang to take credit for the work they did that I just redrew.
Meet Persephone: The only Platoria kitten there is and ever will be that is biologically theirs. Once Victoria gave birth to this cutie, her owners had her spayed so it didnât happen again. Plato is honestly dissapointed at this, but that doesnât mean they canât adopt more. He loves his beautiful girl and is very protective of her.
Persephone adores both her parents and cuddles up between them every night to bed, but she really likes her uncle Mistoffelees. Heâs just so cool with his magic and sheâs jealous she doesnât have any like him. Her uncle Tugger is okayâŚish. She doesnât like HIM very much.

The Tuggoffelees (and two more) kittens.
Castillo - The oldest of the litter. Basically the walking definition of calm. He couldnât care less about drama and is always that one guy that brought the chips when everyone else forgot. He loves his dads, but heâd rather hang out with someone elseâs parents for a change. His own can be kind of a lot sometimes.
Atticus - Skimbleshanks is a firm believer this is HIS kitten and heâs absolutely right. It more of âheat of the momentâ kind of thing with Mistoffelees, but also some revenge for the kitten Tugger would be having with a certain female. Despite this, Tugger absolutely adores the little guy. Skimble often took him for little trips on the railway until he lost Atticus in the luggage van and then Misto refused to let his kitten go anymore.
Lennox - Tugger and Mistoâs little ray of sunshine. Most of his looks came from his grandmother, so they kind of thought heâd Ben like her. Nope. He learned to smile much quicker than his siblings and he did it on a bad day for his parents, which made things a bit better. He found wonder in things a lot of cats took for granted and made new things out of the junkyardâs trash. He wasnât actually magical, but it sure felt that way with how he could brighten up a room by simply walking into it.
Willow - Sweetest of the bunch. Willow adores her aunty Victoria and loves to play with her cousins more than anything in the world. She has some slight magical abilities, but they arenât as powerful as sheâd like them to be. So far, sheâs been able to make a ball of light.
Scrimshaw - Born around the same time as his half-sister was, but with one eye. It was just a hollowed out hole in his face that he grew self-conscious about and Tugger never saw it until he came back from the other birth. Jennyanydots just took him aside one day, gave him an eyepatch, and never said anything about it afterward. Tugger, nor Misto were sure what to name him, so he was nameless for the first week of his life until Misto heard of a scrimshaw and said âThatâs the one.â Tugger is still questionable about the choice of name, but Munkustrap finds it to be quite a good name, mainly due to the fact that he had said it when Misto picked the name out.
Emalanna - Tugger and Bombalurinaâs kitten. She was born in a separate den around the same time as her half-brother. She considers him her twin, though it isnât known if he feels that way about it. She was envious towards how her mother acted with her father, wanting something like that for herself, but without some other cat being with her lover. She has a STRONG dislike towards Mister Mistoffelees and really only likes the fact that heâs the âmotherâ of her half-siblings. She does however have a huge crush on that adult tom, Alonzo.
Daffodil - The runt of the first litter and originally a daddyâs girl. Due to the magicianâs exhaustion, she had a harder time coming into the world. Her dad was the first sight she saw and she became clingy to him. Tugger had always kept an eye on her after that, making sure was doing okay and getting her in particular to adulthood became one of his main focuses. Of course, the one terrible day he had his back turned to talk with Bomba, sheâd wandered off. Next thing he knew, he was bolting out of the junkyard as the growls of a dog and painful cries of a kitten could be heard. He didnât know how to fight for the life of him and was flung off until Mistoffelees comes in claws and magic to save the day. She was never trusted around Tugger again and Daffodil became attached to Misto instead.
