Idk if this was answered before but, since Dee didn’t speak to the 2003 gang when he arrived, What did he said for the first time? ( and when was the first time he called Raphie pops/dad?)

Thank you for asking this! I had been meaning to make a comic of this for a while now and completely forgot! So! First time Dee spoke! (at all, he wasn't talking before 03 either so literal first words here.)

Dee *hearing his papa is worried about him and doesn't think Dee wants him to be his papa*: well that won't do.

Honestly one of my favorite baby Dee moments and i can't believe i forgot to share it before now.

(also, just for a little bonus. I imagine Dee's speech to be a bit slow and deliberate when he's first talking, like he's making sure he's pronouncing everything properly.)

Can we get art of 03 Raph finding Donnie and immediately rushing the kid to Don for medical help because A bloody cuts from hobb, B he think the soft shell has something wrong with it.

Yes! and i'll even go into a little more about it since it's pretty neat (and definitely different than standard adopted au). Ok, i went a little overboard but here!

Poor Raphie. He just went from panicked b/c the baby is hurt, to panicked that he's hurt and permanently vulnerable.

Ok, so when Donnie escaped Hob, the cat tried to grab him again, but ended up just catching his arm and shell with his claws, leaving cuts. Donnie saw some water and immediately jumped into it, letting the sewer system take him away (he's an aquatic turtle so being in the water wasn't a danger to him, other than it was dirty water and he had open wounds.)

When Raphie finds him, he almost misses the fact he's there, simply b/c he blends into the water really well and only had his head sticking out. He realizes it's a small turtle but when he tries to get near him, Donnie hisses and even tries to bite him (he's scared b/c of hob and thinks that this new mutant wants to eat him too.) So Raphie, not wanting to get bit or upset the kid anymore than he seems to be, just sits down and tries to talk him out of the water. It doesn't work. Donnie understands what he's saying but doesn't trust it at the moment. No he'd rather stay safe hidden in the water, thank you very much.

Eventually Hob appears and Raphie, realizing this dude is what probably spooked the kid, chases him off. Donnie sees this and is like "ok, maybe he won't eat me." But Donnie hasn't started talking yet (he just didn't want to and now he's somewhere else and really doesn't want to) but he does make turtle sounds his brothers knew. So he curiously chirps at Raphie, figuring if he chirps back then he's safe since he's only had his brothers chirp back to him before. When Raphie doesn't do it immediately, he gets frustrated and thinks he's wrong. But then he does, a cautious, embarrassed chirp (b/c Raphie hasn't chirped since he was five and decided he was too old for it) and Donnie decides he must be safe and goes to him.

cue Raphie going into panic mode b/c holy shit, this kid has open wounds and he's been sitting in sewer water for who knows how long, and why is his shell so soft, something must be wrong!

Is that plush is Dees work? Like he wanted to give his kiddo something he had in his childhood

Sort of! he found it while he was out collecting scrap. It was in pretty bad condition when he found it so he washed and fixed it up so he could give it to CJ. He figured he had turtle plushes growing up, his kid should too.

And yes, it's name is Purple (b/c Cass found a little purple ribbon and tied it on before Dee could give it to CJ. So CJ saw the ribbon and was like "that's a purple ribbon. Purple would be a good name. not knowing his Papa was named Purple when he was small, or that Dee had a similar naming scheme for his stuffies lol)

Also, CJ was definitely taught some sign language since Dee knew a lot of it from when he was tiny and didn't want to talk. A lot of it is altered signs for our three-fingered turtles, but it works lol : )

Any chance of a drawing of CJ meeting the 03 guys? either apocalypse or when Dee reunites with them in the good timeline?

I...may have went a little overboard. But this image was what popped into my head when i read your ask, and it would not leave until it was finished.

Anyways, This is CJ is meeting them but not them meeting him. That happens a little later since he's being stealthy in the vents atm. He does that quite a bit, actually. Shelldon will keep him hidden there for as long as he asks to be.

This is probably about the time the 03s first showed up in the apocalypse future. They've only just found out about Dee like a minute or so ago and Leon's taken off again. I should really write this whole scene out (or comic it at least) since i can imagine it pretty well. (the only thing holding me back is that i haven't quite figured out how Dee would have died, and i'm fairly certain that would be mentioned during such a scene lol)

I would love it if after Mikey brings Raphie over to the Rise universe, CJ sees him and shouts "Grandpops!" At the top of his lungs(or great uncle Raphie but Grandpops has more oomph) and Raphie face just gets stuck on this weird strangled smile as he tries to figure out what exactly Dee has been doing since he got sent home

lol yes! Raphie's just sitting there like "yes i have a grandchild!" but also like "It's only been two years. how did i get a grandchild?!"

Though, i will say this, it would be pretty cute if, in the apocalypse timeline, Future Dee was the one that adopted baby CJ (similar to how FW has Raph adopting him.) Cass would still claim CJ first, but since Dee is probably one of the few in their group with even a little bit of Tiny human experience, He'd probably end up taking care of CJ a lot and accidentally adopting him along the way. It would be a very adorable way of Dee following in his pop's footsteps : ) (and would give CJ a very good excuse to call Raphie Grandpops)
