*inhales deeply* ..... oof. I felt this one in the pit of my stomach.
nd culture is not having anything to say and then one of your special interests comes up naturally and you think "talking about this has gotta be better than the silence right?" and next thing you know your 40 min into an info dump and the other person is barely paying attention.
.
I must confess my guilt; I watch the episode, and he's the first thing I post about.
Absolutely hilarious that we got Crosshair, Hera, Chopper, AND Heraโs parents all in one episode but who do we hyperfixate on?
This. This is the post I need to show my family. Thank you for putting this into words.
Explaining autism to an allistic is exhausting.
Because most of the time, in my experience, they don't listen to what I'm telling them that it's a disability and that we force our square shaped selves into the circular world everyday and that slowly erodes the edges of who we are.
They're looking for hidden meanings in order to get Autistics to behave more neurotypical. They want to see us become circles.
I explained why we don't use functioning labels any more. And they will say "yes, but you do function more than some." As if it's an "Ah ha! Caught you!" moment.
I was even told today that I obviously find this all easy. Because I hold it together at work.
And I just get so tired trying to explain that I'm not "Aspie". I'm not "high functioning". I'm not "on the spectrum". I'm not "mostly neurotypical".
We're Autistic, goddamnit.
if you want to actually truly support autistic rights, you need to accept the fact that many autistics will forever and unchangeably be wildly socially incompetent, and this does not make them bad or dangerous.
YES.
Wrecker would be all over the sporty toys, to the point that the whole Batch would get on to him for tossing balls in the ship and breaking things. I think dodgeball would be his favorite despite no one else wanting to play it.๐
I think Hunter's version of toys would be... well, kid-versions of things that are useful, like kid's first knife or magnifying glass.
Echo would get her a datapad more like snag one from Tech and fill it with books. Kids got to build up here reading skills and knowledge of the Galaxy and it's many laws of which she'll definitely break a lot of in the future.๐
You know what really gets me upset about the bad batch. (Dont worry this isnt criticism, just some fluffy angst)
They never had a childhood.
Omega, as messed up as her childhood is, she has the boys as father figures, she has Lula and the trooper doll, her own room with fairy lights, she plays ball with Cut's kids. The bad batch never had that.
So I have a headcanon that when Cross gets home and they all live happily ever after :))) whenever they buy Omega a toy or Omega plays games they join in. I have a personal headcanon that Crosshair and Omega stop at a stationary shop and Omega sees a colouring book that she likes, but Crosshair, he finds the mandalas, and hes fascinated by the ornate patterns and precision required that he buys the mandalas, the colouring book and a pack of crayons. And Cross and Omega spend all day colouring in together.
Tech absolutely has a Rubix cube that he fidgets with and he teaches Omega how to solve it, along with many other little puzzles.
If you have a headcanon like this then please comment it because my god is there possibilities galore and our boys deserve a childhood as much as Omega does.
In S1 E6 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, they had that whole back and forth over the tactical droid head... am I the only one that thought of that tactical droid head that led the Ghost Crew to Rex, Gregor, and Wolffe from Star Wars: Rebels? I don't know if it's related, but I thought it was interesting... pity the head got destroyed, but the data's still intact...๐ค
Now I'm wondering how negotiations worked with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon.๐
What if Obi-Wan actually kinda sucked at negotiating but always got what he wanted anyways because A) Handsome, B) flirting with everyone without even meaning to, and C) Anakin was hovering behind him threateningly smacking his fist into his other palm the whole time while glaring at whoever Obi-Wan was negotiating with
Attack of the Lula! Had anyone else tried this on Crosshair, he definitely would've decked them.
#BIG SIBLING ENERGY
Someone's a fast learner... and gonna give me cavities with all this sweetness! Seriously tho, Cut should be a parenting teacher.
1.02: Cut and Run | 1.03: Replacements
Anyone else notice that when Hunter said that they are "CT 99s", Gregor said "defective clones"? As in that's what being a CT 99 means?
One particular clone's name just went from odd (and perhaps a bit interesting) to sad (and me wanting to punch whatever clone named him that).
Yes I talk, or rather text, too much. I mostly just add my two cents to other posts, but I'll try not to where it's not welcome.
