it's the summer of 1955, elvis' record is popular over town and is still on the hayride. it's the evening, there's a knock at the door, a very recognisable knock. your mother opens the door to a boy in a pink suit with the most beautiful blue eyes you could ever see. "elvis is here!" she shouts up the stairs, you go down and smile softly when you see him, he smiles back. "hi" you say, looking up at him "hi, baby" he says in a warm tone. you say goodbye to your mother and go down to his car, he opens the door and you thank him. he parks outside a diner in town, opening the car and diner door for you. he says he will order for you and goes up to do exactly that while you sit there. it's insane, you two were in highschool together but you were to shy to speak to him, he's introverted anyway but it's still scary. he sits down, with two milkshakes. you begin talking and giggling at some things he says, he then asks:

"why didn't you say hi?"

"when?"

"when you saw me around..at school, i mean"

a small blush grew on your face, "um, i don't know. i guess i didn't know what you would say if i wanted to speak to you" he almost laughs, "i wouldn't mind, i love speaking to you. i love you" as he says this your blush grows more.

he brings you back to his house and you both talk and laugh. laying with your head resting against his chest and fallen asleep, he notices and whispers "i love you" and kisses the top of your head. he soon drifts off to sleep.

gladys says to vernon she's going to check on you both, she opens the door and a little light shines in. she smiles st the sight of the two lovers in eachothers arms, completely asleep. she slowly shuts the door.
