The bean-hoarding mage

Adding a new character, and planning to make a reference page later. For now, here's the lore I'm working with:

His name is Fasigo, also known as Codec depending on the region. He's a short Watujeet scholar who likes investigating lost nations, and preserving history. His face was ripped off by an insane wizard, and so he created an enchanted ring that projects the illusion of his old appearance. In my head, he's the sort of character with a obsessive passion for knowledge, but he's also quite forgetful at the same time. He obsesses over one thing for months, but as soon as he's learned all there is, everything just leaves his mind immediately and a new obsession forms. He's the guy who writes most of the in-universe history books, but when you go to ask him about a fact or two he just has no idea what your talking about

I like the visual of a rough and tough band of adventures delving into an ancient ruin, spooked to see that all the monsters have already been blown apart. They reach the bottom and it opens out into this giant city or something. Then there's just... Some guy? He's got a big hat and he's just straight up chilling down here. Scribbling in a battered tome while scrying crystals float around him. He speaks to them in sign language, which the mage of the group understands, and he's all like "I hope you didn't come all this way just to rob the place... There's so much we can learn from the artifacts down here..."

Elder scrolls truly has the best fanfiction, image unrelated

I cant remember if ive ever talked about his lore or anything so uh here are some ideas I've had floating around:

I've always imagined him as a well-spoken noble type character, but he just absolutely hates people, like straight up despises every person he's ever talked to. And you just know his ass cannot stand politics! In my head, he used his education and wealth to become an adventurer as soon as possible, completely cutting off his family. But he can't quite escape the life he was born into. People recognize him everywhere he goes, and he still spends money like a noble as well. Those bad spending habits have him living quest to quest in order to survive, but honestly, he wouldn't have it any other way. Starving on the street is a far better fate than nobility.

Tried to paint my guy, my boy, my skrunkly idiot man

Totally in love with adventure time lore about deities, monsters, natural cycles, and magical items. The Adventure Time universe is one of the most interesting and complete I've ever seen and the only reason it's so underestimated is because it belongs to a "children's" show. I love how most of the lore of deities and such are similar to popular prototypes of legends and stories of gods and warriors from our reality. For example deity A (GOLB) kills the wife of deity B (magical man) causing him to lose his sanity and become a dictator in his homeland, then this deity (magical man) is kicked out of his land by other deities, creating disasters in the land he arrives in (Ooo). A human trying to save her lover from a curse crosses his path in Ooo and gains his powers making her lose her sanity. Then to escape the cycle of madness that encloses her and her lover this human decides to sacrifice herself by fusing with the deity that started all this disaster (GOLB) avoiding a new attack from said deity. And this is just a minimal part of the adventure time's lore, every magic object, god, monster and every character has its own lore that unite forming a very complete and magic, sad, crazy and fucking amazing universe.
