The Cup Series is pacing Circuit Of The Americas as I write this, and the big thing on my mind aside from the new Turns 6a and 6b is: How many rubbish debris cautions will fly? Make your guesses. Oh yeah, and now that I think about it, a Z4 Coupe as the pace car? What happened to domestic cars only? I mean, there was an uproar about the 1990 Daytona 500 being paced by a Dodge Stealth because it was built by Mitsubishi, and now here we are with a German car with a Japanese badge on it. Is it just built in the USA? Genuinely, I don't know.
Dear Lord in Heaven above, Internet Explorer would have put the caution out sooner than NASCAR did on the white-flag crash. I get wanting to race back to the line, but you've got to announce that you're going to race back to the line first. I mean, Denny Hamlin might have won that if NASCAR had been real quick with the yellow, but nope. Give William Byron his back-to-back Daytona 500 wins. I won't even bother with Fox News putting Logano in the frame after the debris caution, because yes, he was debris.
You wonder why NASCAR doesn't introduce major downforce revisions to help prevent this sort of thing.
No but is his luck bad bc he has such wild wrecks, or good because he walks away?
