POSTCARD FROM EMPRESS ALEXANDRA FEODOROVNA, JAN 1905
Postcard with a small illustration of a horse drawn carriage. It was sent to the Prince of Wales, later King George V, by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna on behalf of herself and her husband, Emperor Nicholas II.
The message reads : 'Jan. 1/13. 1905. Darling Georgie, Nicky & I thank you & dear May ever so much for the charming books. It is so sad that we never meet now! We are remaining in the country this winter, as the air is so much better here than in town & Nicky can get out easier for walks here. With fondest love from us both to you two. Ever, Georgie dear, yr loving old cousin Alix'.
“I saw Princess Catherine's post within less than an hour of posting, I was so happy to see the post. And most of to see that she didn't lose her hair! She has the most beautiful thick hair! It looked so great in the video she did announcing her cancer, but I was afraid she'd lose it, but she hasn't!” - Submitted by Anonymous
This sprawling 1930 home in Fennville, Michigan, only has 3bds and 1.5ba, just like an average home, but it's listed for $2.9M. So, what is taking up all the space in this huge home?
Oh, well for one thing, it's got to be this great room. Most of the letters fell off the blocks on the balcony, but it says "Showstoppers." There's a wood burning stove in the corner, and according to the floorplan, this is a living room.
Here're spiral stairs going up to a mezzanine and there's a carpeted area. The floorplan says that this is a sitting room.
It looks like there was hot tub here, but all that's left is the cover.
Across from the hot tub is a shower and maybe that's a sauna behind the door.
This is the half bath.
Well, the kitchen needs a remodel. You could probably get away with painting the cabinets and changing the hardware, but the walls. I wonder if you could open up that brick fireplace and if the cabinet is going around it and it's intact. Wouldn't it make a great pizza oven?
Back to the Showstopper room, the mezzanine has a very large space with a terrace.
According to the 2nd level floorplan this is a sitting room.
There are definitely bedrooms above the hot tub room.
And, these are bedrooms #'s 2 & 3.
The full bath is on the 2nd level.
The primary bedroom. It has a little sink in the corner, b/c the only full bath is upstairs.
This room has a bar. At least that's what I think it is. It also looks like it says "Showstoppers" on the fireplace, too, and it's the family room.
Here's the dining room. According to the floorplan, that's the back of the fireplace that's in the kitchen.
And, the sunroom.
On the side of the house is a 2 car garage.
The property is 5.2 wooded acres on Lake Michigan.
There's also a cute little log cabin on the property.
I don't know how far Lake Michigan is from the house, but this is a picture of it.

Hello there!
I've been wanting to read books on the Borgia family for a while, and I feel like you're the correct person to ask about this. Do you have any recommendations?
hiii! thank you for your question :) i often talk about sarah dunant as the best historical fiction writer about the borgia family because of how impressively she depicted their characters and gave them nuance and justice without hyping anyone at the expense of others (fascinating character intros, less yassificated portrayal of cesare borgia, and without resorting to simplifying and taking personal jabs at juan borgia just for the sake of it) in her novel 'blood and beauty'. it also includes groundbreaking twists. now, i want to talk about emma lucas as the best biographer of the borgias. her work is a solid read, very unbiased without any manipulation of the letters about/between the siblings to push certain narratives, well-researched, sheds light on the family's complex relationships and their rise to power, and is highly sympathetic to all of them. you won't be disappointed!!
