You will not use AI to get ideas for your story. You will lie on the floor and have wretched visions like god intended

In the holiday home I'm currently in, there's a garden outside and the trees are now (finally) losing their leaves, it's a mix out of red, orange, yellow, brown and still green. I'm sitting here, on a reading bench (like a windowsill but very broad so you can literally sit here and read), just looking into the garden, while it is gloomy and raining a little. So beautiful. Now I'm here scrolling social media, and reading, and drinking tea. Best time!
Ok, so, about the Jayvik fic, I saw a quote from Bob Ross here on tumblr, where he was petting a little fawn and going: "This has to be one of the most gorgeous creatures God has ever made. I just want to take him home... and keep him as a pet. But that's not what he's meant to be. He's meant to be free."
And while this suggestion might be a bit unhinged (maybe? idk), I really love the idea of two people being conflicted about whether or not they should be together, because one (or both) of them feel like the other is "meant to be free", that "keeping the other" will make the other lose an important part of their self.
And just generally I think the quote has a lot of potential as a ship dynamic, even if it's more of a tragic love story.
This would be a bit more angst, sure, but also a comforting option.
I think this fandom thrives on angst. We should give it some comfort too, then, don't ya think?
I'll see what I can do! Thank you!
AI isn't always bad. Oh yes. I hate you if you decide to let it write your story, that is not useful at all. But! Here it comes..
Chatgpt, right? It won't write your emotional poem. It cannot put in the same emotional intensity concentrated into a few very meaningful words.
But it can help you if you tell it things about your book. If you tell things about your characters. When you don't find that specific prompt on tumblr, you can tell the bot and it can give some good ideas based on analysis.
In that way, it is not stealing anyone anything. It is not mediocre.
The way I do it, for example, is, that I tell it my character stuff, give it a visual, and it will psychoanalyse the character. With that, you can ask how to incorporate it into the plot points you already have, if you don't know where this character could fit in.
After I told the bot much about my book and we'd worked on it for a while, I just asked the bot if Bad Omens (the band) would fit well to the plot of my book, as in if the vibes match. It said definitely and listed a bunch of reasons why it fits after analysing and comparing both, plot and songs by the band. Then it gave me suggestions which lyrics fit best. Same worked when I asked it about the genre Metalcore and two more bands, which seemed to fit even better.
Mostly, the bot is a source of inspiration! It shouldn't do the job of writing the book for you. Still, you can see it like a good friend that is also a writer, and brainstorm for your book. The title ideas are basic. But it'll inspire you to look for ways to make the titles better. Find the faults and delete them.
P.S. i do not use any AI for my posts. This is just me! Thought I'd say it now lmao. Normal prompts don't work very well with AI. Just the inspo and psychoanalysis.

Lol alright let's do it.
1. Homeward Drowned
2. No. But my second draft title was Driftwood Souls. I liked Homeward Drowned (reference to the words homeward bound, but, well, drowned lol) better though, as it fits the story more.
3. The Wounds of Wood and Water
What chu guys think?
Okay now I am curious. ๐
How does everyone come up with titles for their work?
Do you have a go-to style, or is it more "vibes based" depending on the work?
this question is prompted by me wondering where the new publishing trend of what seems like a lot of unrelated book series having titles along the lines of
"The [blank] of [blank] and [blank]"
with me wondering where it came from, and if it is based off of one book series that everyone else is trying to copy, if its something publishers are pushing, or a mix of both.
so, as a fun little interactive post:
What's your current WIP document title,
Are you planning on changing the title after editing
what would the title be if you formatted it in "The [blank] of [blank] and [blank]" style?
This is the magic lucky word count. Reblog for creativity juice. It might even work, who knows.
"I want a child tonight. I am like a mother, I want a child!"
"Your wounded one. Your daughter" - forever.
That moment when you just scroll through pinterest for character visuals and SUDDENLY there's a picture that makes you put something completely new and random into the plot, even add another person into it and question whether you're not doing too much.
