My sister Dana, turned 11 on the very first day of the war. Just a little while ago, she asked for a notebook and a pen, and this is what she wrote:

It was more painful than ever before. My family and I have migrated twice, and it was terrifying and frightening, and I miss my father and my brother. I hope this painful wound comes to an end. My birthday has passed, and I didn't blow out a birthday candle, nor did I see the gifts, and I won't open them. I haven't tasted a bite of my birthday cake. People, please support us. People have been sitting (surviving) for three days with only two dates. My heart is burning, and I almost lost my mind.
