Now we see what America truly is...
for people who are unaware of why the riots in minneapolis started happening, here’s the facts:
it wasn’t george floyd’s protesters who started reacting violently; it was the cops.
the protest was peaceful until the cops showed up in riot gear, and started using water cannons, followed up by tear gas and rubber bullets. i got videos from friends who were there, of people screaming and running away from the cops shooting the water cannons, rubber bullets and throwing tear gas at them. they were even shooting at the protesters dragging people away to get medical attention.
speaking of medical attention, dispatch refused to provide any medical attention to the protesters. people literally had to drive their bleeding friends to the hospital because they refused to send ambulances.
cops are using non-lethal weapons in a lethal way. they shot rubber bullets into people’s heads and injured them. there’s dozens of photos of protesters with bleeding head wounds from the rubber bullets.
multiple people used police scanners and heard that there were undercover cops pretending to be violent protesters who were throwing rocks and whatnot at the police, with dozens of eyewitness accounts confirming that information.
the person who instigated all the chaos last night (it was a fire at an autozone) with the looting and burning buildings is highly suspected to be an undercover cop pretending to be a protester, because the video of him keeps getting taken down. protesters tried to stop him but couldn’t because he had a hammer and they were scared for their safety.
the cops jammed cell phone towers and cut live streams to interrupt broadcasts and to prevent people from seeing what was really going on and who actually started the violence.
the cops lied about protesters being armed and about throwing rocks and are literally trying to continue the violence happening and yet no one is holding them accountable for that.
and during all this, the cop that murdered george floyd still hasn’t been arrested. he has had more than ten complaints filed against him and was involved in three other civilian shootings in the past. and yet he’s still out free along with his three other buddies involved, probably sitting on his couch while all this chaos is happening.
so don’t get it twisted. the cops just want to change the narrative to make it look like they’re the wounded and righteous party, when they’re the ones who started reacting violently in the first place and are still acting violently. so don’t you ever forget who started this tragedy and murdered someone, and who are continuing to react to the situation with violence.

obviously feel free to add more. Despite me not being the creator of the thread I still encourage others to see and share more information
script from @bluecollarbabe1 on instagram. even if you can’t protest, you can still be heard. use your voice. do something.
TEXT:
To whom it may concern:
I am writing you about the murder of George Floyd by MPD officers Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao. These men were not upholding the law, they were committing murder and terrorizing their community. Being fired is not an appropriate response to the crime. All officers must be charged with murder.
We cannot continue this way. This is not the way forward. Use your station and power for change; for good. Give a voice to the smothered. Prove that all lives matter. Do your job.

When the streets clear and the ashes fade, George Floyd will not be forgotten. The events transpiring may very well be plastered into history books. The world is watching. My generation will not fail to tell our children exactly what happened. Your actions now will cement how you are remembered. If you stand up and act, you will be remembered for your bravery, choosing to enact justice. If not, history will sneer at your cowardice. The choice is yours.

hey, so pride in bulgaria is not going very well.
the parade in our capital Sofia will be on the 12th of june, and there have already been several instances of harassment of lgbtq folks by neonazis.
luckily, i’m not openly or visibly queer, but as a bi girl this is getting kind of scary. i can see the tension building up for some kind of a violent action.
Here’s a link in bulgarian documenting recent queerphobic attacks.
Here’s a translation by me, including some clarifications:
15 may - the first burgas pride in history (burgas is a bulgarian city by the sea) is surrounded and attacked with eggs, cucumbers, rocks and smoke balls by counterprotesters, organized by Vuzrajdane, translated Renascence (a relatively new far-right party) and PUC (Parents United for Children).
25 may - a presentation of a children’s book including same-sex parents in The Steps (a lgbt+ space) is attacked and surrounded by supporters of “traditional values“.
27 may - the presentation of 2 books by Youth LGBT organization “Deystvie“ (translates ”Action”) in Radio Plovdiv is attacked and surrounded by a group of nationalists.
30 may - a projection of the movie “Shells“ by Slava Doycheva is occupied by around 20 young men with Lukovmarsh and Bulgarian National Union symbols (both of these orgs are fascist as fuck), led by the youth branch of VMRO (far-right party)
1 june - on the opening day of the community center “Rainbow Hub“, the entire front door was vandalized with homophobic stickers.
1 june - in the underpass of metrostation Serdika, 6 men from Bulgarian National Union spread homophobic propaganda, harass a person who they recognize from the queer community and threaten him. (luckily a big antifascist crowd gathered and helped the dude)
1 june - the entire facade of The Steps is vandalized with eggs and foam.
“What rights do you lack?“ “Who’s hindering you?“ What about the right to watch a movie? To read a book? To gather for a peaceful protest against everyday harassment or for a celebration of your community? As wrote the director Slava Doycheva: “Next month will be a daily risk for us - I don’t know how many more examples we need… There are moments in history where you should choose which side are you on.“
angle is bad but this man is burning a rainbow flag
this is a news source saying “a football group blocks Radio Plovdiv for presenting gay books“
“we continue the successful fight against LGBTI propaganda. Every day if we should“
the eggs and foam on “the steps“
i’d appreciate if you could rb this.
EDIT
To those who reblogged this - thank you so much! I decided to add some resources so you can help lgbt+ people in bulgaria.
Here is a link to 2 petitions you can sign. You can also access lots of relevant information (mostly on legal affairs concerning lgbtq people) on this site, some of it in english.
You can donate to the organization Bilitis via paypal, bank transfers and patreon. It spreads awareness and participates in different campaigns and projects, it deals with legal matters - the basic ngo stuff. But it also provides material aid to queer people struggling because of the pandemic and group therapy for queer youth.
You can also support some of the more radical anarcho-queer voices at Violetki Collective and donate to them on paypal. (also come to the server. it’s based, you can get info about events and actions and talk to fellow radicals)
Wow...
No words...
To the #Blackout Community and Tumblr at large,
We know you must have a lot of questions or are feeling distressed about the news. The world has been dealing with a lot this year, and it is an especially harrowing time for Black Americans and Black folks abroad. We know your biggest question right now could be summed up by a quote from Toni Morrison:
Here at #TheBlackout, we have decided to help you start finding an answer to that question - we feel that we need each other. We need unity, organization, a clear sense of direction, but more importantly, a space where you can be yourself without judgement or fear.
So, in addition to boosting your art and businesses, our highest priority right now is to provide you all with resources to help you start from where you are.
This is a masterpost of places you can donate, find mental health + spaces for radical self-care, and just do something fun. We will be adding on as things change.
