Akutagawa: Why is Dazai-san in hospital?
Chuuya: Natural causes.
Atsushi: YOU PUSHED HIM OFF THE FUCKING ROOF-
Chuuya: Gravity is natural
I can’t believe I forgot to put my watermark on this 😭😭
The antagonists are always better than the heroes I said what i said 🙄 The sketch for this fucking drawing literally took 5 hours I couldn’t get the poses right </3. AND it’s still not finished, i’ll post it on here when i do finish it tho (if i ever do)
Neither L, neither Light are good people, but the pair of them effectively acts like a good person when they work together, as evidenced in the Yotsuba arc. Probably the greatest tragedy of the Death Note is that the fact of Light being Kira prevents any geniune long-lasting parthnership between them, even though we can see a glimpse of how they could have been positive influence on each other.
There’s so much tragedy in DN it’s hard to say which is the biggest (like there’s dozens of contenders) but I’m always of the firm belief that L would never have been interested in Light if he wasn’t Kira. Without the game between them, Light was a just a normal, boring, albeit pretty and brilliant, teenager. L’s already in the habit of ignoring brilliant teenagers, even the ones the really should pay attention to (all the Wammy’s kids!). He’s in the habit of ignoring absolutely everyone in fact, because there’s very little about people that interest him. And one of the big reasons that L was so fascinated by Kira was because of how similar he appeared to be to L— I’ve said before that L used himself as the template to understand Kira. This gives insight into L and what he’s compelled by, and it’s no surprise given how big the man’s ego was. Someone out there stumping him? Daring to challenge him? Not having the common courtesy to be caught right away like every other criminal??? The gall. The only answer in L’s mind to this conundrum was that Kira was as clever/sneakysmart/childish/selfish/hates to lose/etc as L, and that had never happened before. That was amazing to him and the ultimate game he had to win.
If Light had just moseyed into L’s orbit as a police officer or even a rival detective without the Death Note, L would have yawned, because Light would have only displayed his ‘good’ qualities. All the devious and morally grey things that L did and was wouldn’t be reflected in that Light, just like in Yotsuba arc, because it takes an extreme amount of power to get that to manifest in Light. That Light would not be ‘like L’, and thus of no interest or just marginal interest as a useful person. L was bored and depressed in Yotsuba arc too for this reason. Light was still helpful, brilliant, and useful, but L had pretty much checked out until he had some leads that Light might be Kira after all.

“are you okay” no, next question
Head empty just Kenma ;-; this has to be one of my favorite sketches I did so far lmao
[ Huge spoiler warning for all the games! Reminder this is my personal opinion, take it or leave it ]
Peko’s execution had to be one of the most painful executions of all the danganronpa games- even though it wasn’t very physically painful, the fact that she hurt the person she cared about most (Fuyuhiko) without wanting to, is what hurt the most. I didn’t really have enough time to get attached to her, however I really liked her personality and she deserved better.
I’m not a huge fan of Kaede, her character was kinda bland and very similar to Makoto’s, her design was underwelming and I didnt find her an intresting character at all, however her execution was hands down the worst from all the games. The fucking fact that it carried on for 8 hours and everyone of her classmates had to witness that was really disgusting, but the fact that she never even meant to kill anyone of her classmates in the first place (she was planning to kill the mastermind) but was just THAT unlucky to kill Rantaro instead- that’s a whole other level of misfortune.
I still cant get over the fact that Mukuro was killed by her own fucking sister? And when she was expecting it the least. She thought that her and Junko were going to continue her plan together, and was actually the first to be killed at the start of Trigger Happy Havoc. The fact that Junko didn’t even show any fucking remorse to any of this makes her an even more twisted character.
Chihiro’s death pissed me off a lot. The reason he died especially, Mondo’s “reason” for killing him was absolute bullshit (ok we get it you have anger issues but like). Chihiro managed to help the remaining of his classmates even AFTER his death, and he’s an absolute king for that.
Okok, hear me out here. Celestia by far had one of the smartest plans for a murder from all of the games. Her plan was executed perfectly and no one suspected a thing. I was secretly rooting for her to win, because her plan required such a high level of intelligence to come up with- her motives were kinda dubious though.
By the last chapter of V3, I was honestly relieved that Kiibo was one of the survivors. Or at least WAS GOING to be one of the survivors- stupidly enough, kiibo still destroys everything and kills himself and Tsumugi through self destruction. 3 survivors are Maki, Shuichi, and Himiko, and it's kinda bs. LITERALLY WHAT IS UP WITH EVERYONE SACRIFICING THEMSELVES
Chiaki was one of my favorite characters, and her death was really unfair. Same as Kaede, she never meant to kill anyone except for the culprit. She deserved way better, and she was one of the characters that I really wanted to survive until the end. Some crimes can be forgiven 😁
Nagito’s death came as a fucking shock to me, but was even more disturbing is that he did it all to himself. He sacrificed himself in order to kill the Remnants of Despair. He set up a "suicide" to cause Chiaki Nanami, the traitor and not a Remnant of Despair, to unknowingly deal the killing blow, and therefore become the blackened. He deserved better.
Honestly, Sakura was the last one I’d ever expect to be the traitor. I loved her character and she deserved way better, however due to her death, she did manage to help Naegi and the others uncover the mastermind.
I don’t think this is gonna come as a surprise to any of you lmao. Kokichi is one of the most hated but loved characters of all danganronpa- some say he had it coming but others try to act as if he’s some sort of fucking angel. Truth is, Kokichi fits in neither of those categories, which is what makes him such a great antagonist. He never knew how to express his emotions, and was extremely scared of opening up to people, hence his title of being a “liar”. He commited suicide to win and *RUIN* the killing game. Yes, ruin. He did this to *ruin* the killing game. What makes the whole deal a lot sadder is, that he died thinking that the only person he ever loved (Shuichi) hated him. *cries in kokichi kinnie*
