I just think they're neat
You know, ever since maybe my... second viewing of the anime, I've had a sense that this was total bullshit, but I think I just figured out why.
I love him (partially because of this), but Kyoya's a bit of a fuckhead, right? Like, the whole reveal of his character over the course of the anime/manga is that he DOESN'T do everything purely for selfish reasons, but the reason that assumption was there in the first place was because he does act selfish fairly consistently. Moreover, if he's not worried for anyone's well-being and he doesn't benefit, he's likely to give all of 0% effort for a task he may be presented with the option of doing. So why tf would he give half a shit about getting into contact with and consistently updating the father of a fucking nobody? He's nowhere close to that chivalrous I guarantee you.
So. He's fucking lying. But he still contacted Ranka, so the next question would be "why?"
My personal theory has two options: heterosexual reason, or homosexual reason (I'm partial to the second one because I believe Kyoya is full gay, but to each their own).
Heterosexual reason: He has a thing for Haruhi, and is hoping to get a leg up on dating her over literally everyone else with obvious feelings for her by becoming familiar with her dad. If someone's close to their family, not only is getting a parents approval usually a factor in choosing a partner, but seeing somebody you're possibly interested in getting along with the people you love is usually something that sets off green flags in your head.
Homosexual reason: Sometime during his general research that he's explicitly confirmed to conduct on everybody he regularly interacts with, he discovered that Ranka is queer. He wanted to talk to someone 'like him', probably assuming he would just the once to satisfy curiosity and loneliness, and as soon as Ranka figured out what was going on, welp. It was over for him š Ranka's your gay dad now Kyoya
(Also neither of these reasons are something he'd want to advertise, much less to Tamaki, which I think lends credibility. And he really would just. Decide to tell Tamaki exactly what he knew would fuck with him instead. Just to be a fuck. <3)
But what do y'all think
I just finished watching Romantic Killer and let me tell you,
My crops? Watered. My faith in humanity? Absolutely RESTORED.
I was so nervous to start watching, as I was sure it would turn into another "she doesn't want romance until she meets this One Guy" but it wasn't!
She avoided any and all romance but still made genuine connections with people and strong friendships. This show made me so happy to watch, and was very funny.
I urge you, if you're on the fence about watching Romantic Killer, you should totally try it!
I wholeheartedly believe Andrew still accompanies Renee to the banquets for her last year despite not being with Neil
āI can tell TV from real life, Jeff. TV has structure, logic, rules, and likeable leading men. In real life, we have this. We have youā is still one of the most METAL fucking lines in the entire series like??? abed just gagged him like that??? in front of EVERYONE??? insane. Iām still not over it. goddamn
The thing about bugs bunny is that he lives and dies by his bits. Heās fully capable of killing you if he wanted, but the thing is, not only is he a nice guy, heās a funny guy. To beat bugs bunny, many people assume that you just have to not fall for the jokes. If he hits you with a pie, you donāt flinch, and eventually youāll ware him down. The issue is, misery will only last you so long. Thereās only so much bits to endure before it becomes funny. And whoever is getting laughed at is losing. Instead, to kill bugs bunny, you have to beat him at his own game. When he throws a pie, donāt try to sidestep or be a sourpuss, thatās playing into his hands. Instead, you comically open your mouth and swallow it whole. This is how you kill a god.
I think Kusuo Saiki and Anzu Hoshino would be good friends. Two people who don't want to be apart of a harem but still become friends with them and treat them like people. Both love sweets (Saiki would feel sad that this tiny seemly-indestructable magical wizard is preventing her from eating her favorite sweet. He would have killed Riri). Neither can handle bugs. Both have stereotype friends that actually have more to them than they seem (they would love each other's friend groups. For the most part anyway). Saiki would feel safe around Anzu since she would NOT let anyone get away with stalking or trying to trap him. Saiki wouldn't let anyone do the same to her either. I think after a situation got a bit too out of hand in Anzu's life, Saiki would tell her he has psychic powers and she would be like "Are you with the wizard?" and he'd be like "No" and then they'd be friends.
We stan a rat baby they/them
