People pretending to be against censorship of dark materials but still unwilling to actually leave fiction that makes them uncomfortable alone will really enter discussions of censorship to say "noo I totally understand the difference between dark stuff being depicted (Actual Highbrow Art That Deserves To Be Saved) and icky pornographic romanticisation of bad things that people get off to (Morally Corrupt Non-Art That Should Be Destroyed Or At Least Harassed Off The Platforms) and obviously I'm a progressive person who doesn't want to censor the former!!"
like clearly you've first missed the whole point that exploring dark themes doesn't have to be a moral lesson for it to be "allowed" and fantasies ≠ reality, secondly you have decided to become the arbitrator of what depiction is good and what is pornographic ie what depiction is pleasing in a righteous way (tragic) vs in a corrupt way (sexual - which is always corrupt no of course this has nothing to do with my religious upbringing why do you ask) which has an understanding of "harm" not really grounded in reality because it sees fantasies when they are sexual as being harmful for real (so I already know these are people who are progressive only in name but will hate me for my lived reality of being 1. Kinky and 2. Mentally ill with intrusive thoughts), thirdly you've missed the whole point of anti censorship which is that it doesn't matter whether you find something uncomfortable it still has the right to exist, and fourthly this attitude somehow only comes out with sexual stuff bc none of these people are going after dark romanticism when it has cannibalism and the cannibals have a twisted sexual romance with each other or when it's a murderer or a vampire who also has a love story no no this is reserved for "dark sexual themes" because how dare anyone wish to explore that in any way that's not purely clinical, doesn't matter if you're a victim exploring this stuff to cope you're a victim in the wrong way go be sad and submissive instead.
Tldr: "I'm not like the other conservatives I actually know that art shouldn't be destroyed except when it's sexual because then it's meaningless and not art" actually you're exactly like the other conservatives
“you know i get it-”
TODAY, August 12, 2024, The Animation Guild begins negotiations with the AMPTP to win a new contract for animation. This is a huge fight with severe stakes for the future of the Animation Industry in the US, and the guild needs your support!
TAG is fighting, Right Now, to stop exploitative practices that are weaponized against animation professionals across the globe, and working hard to ensure this industry has a future here in the states.
If you are a fan of animation, whether it's major or independent studios, eastern or western, tv or movies, we need you to get LOUD in support of The Animation Guild. The crews who work so hard to bring these works to life are struggling to pay their bills, if they can find work at all, while studio CEOs are getting multi-million dollar raises to cancel projects and gut streaming libraries.
We can win this fight, but we need public outcry and support. If you work in animation, if you've ever dreamed of working in animation, or if you just love animation, please stand with TAG and support the union effort to keep animation a viable career and a valuable medium!

Thinking about the Foxes dying their hair orange for finals. Like it starts with the girls doing orange highlights/Renee dying the tips of her hair orange during death matches
And then Matt and Nicky rope themselves in because they think it’s cool as fuck and they want to be apart of it. So Allison and Renee help them bleach their hair and Dan watches for moral support. They dye the tips of Matt’s hair and give Nicky chunky highlights
They try to convince Neil next and it doesn’t work until Matt asks and then he hesitantly agrees. They give him just a little streak of orange right at the front and it just looks like his normal hair but a bit brighter
Kevin is the next to join in because he’s superstitious as fuck and would think if half the team is already doing it than the whole team has to for good luck. Allison and Renee give him a nice ombré of orange over the tips of his hair
The twins are the hardest to convince by far. Kevin and the entire team hound them for a week. Aaron agrees finally just so Kevin stops bitching at him every spare breath and somehow Neil gets Andrew on board because he’s Neil and “just asked”
Aaron dyes the undercut of his hair orange and Andrew gets little fox paw prints on the shaved part of his head (so he can shave them off as soon as the seasons over). The orange is bright as fuck on their hair too since their natural hair is so light. And they both think it’s obnoxious but are team players
It definitely becomes a tradition after that and if they make it to finals Wymack and Abby surprise them by dying their hair (and Wymack temporarily dyes his beard)
The deans were totally ex's or at least hooked up several times right?
This is a friendly reminder to never, ever publish your book with a publishing company that charges you to publish with them. That is a vanity press, which makes money by preying on authors. They charge you for editing, formatting, cover art, and more. With most of these companies, you will never seen a cent of any royalties made from sale of your book. A legitimate publishing company only makes money when you make money, they will never charge you to publish with them. If a company approaches you and says "Hey, we'll publish your book, just pay us X amount of money," tell them to go fuck themself and block them.
I will never give sympathy to a woman that uses what a man has told them in his weakness against him. (For romantic relationships)
A man does not have many opportunities to lower his guard, to be vulnerable. So if the man trusted her, made her his safe haven, and then she pierces his heart. Then she has no right to whine when he no longer seeks her comfort. She has no right to complain when he is no longer warm.
He gave her that warmth, gave her that softness and she spat on it.
I see a lot of people who tell young people–especially young people who are heading into college–that they should “do what they love.” And they’re right. You should do what you love.
But there’s a world of difference between doing what you love for you, and doing what you love for a paycheck.
I went to undergrad for graphic design and 3-D design–art and more art, I usually say–and I loved it. You know what I didn’t love? Trying to collect my fees from clients. Trying to meet unrealistic, over-simplified or over-specific briefs from people who didn’t know what they were talking about. Coming home, having worked creatively all day, with no creative juice left for the things I wanted to do.
You know what I would tell you instead? Do something that you can be interested in, with people you like.
You don’t have to love it. Loving your work can be a lot, and it often means you have to live in your job 24/7. Some people can do that. Not everyone can, or should. But if you can find work that’s interesting enough that it doesn’t feel tedious, and people you can enjoy spending your 9-5 with, and you can make money, that’s great! It means you can do the things you love for you.
I’m in law school now. It’s interesting work, and difficult, and I like doing it. I like how complicated it gets, and I like the stories it tells. But I don’t come home and read law journals for fun. I come home, and I sculpt, and I draw, and I paint, and I read. I do these things for me.
And I love it.
eight episodes is not a full season of television
Friendly reminder that Lana fucking improvised this scene (Regina sitting on Emma's desk) and what we see here is JMo's real reaction, not Emma's 😌
