That silhouette in the middle
Looks oddly familiar
Well, if that's the case
37🤝Balloon Party
Biters 😭
Which reminds me. A long while back, I shipped Vertin and 37. The ship was named Verti7
I am still proud of how creative that is
It took me a minute to get it but I did it. Verti-7. Goddamn that's actually pretty smart.
37 making a deal with Balloon Party to go and bite Regulus for eating beans. The sin of sins... And balloon Party was feeling silly that evening.
Regulus didn't enjoy that day and she still gets nightmares.
A formidable duo... Beanhater37 and Evil! Balloon Party will bite your forehead and there's nothing you can do to stop them
Vertin leveling up Arcanists is just this meme
I accept this and this is now real
This previous post I made helps flesh out their dynamics but I want to talk about how the two could fall in love with each other. It might help put the rest of this post in perspective.
Perhaps Schneider didn't fall in love with Vertin per say, but she saw what they could be. What if she saw enough to say that one day she'd fall in love with this person if she had the chance. Vertin didn't have a long time with Schneider, but in their short time she displayed everything Schneider wished for. It's about impact rather than time, especially since they met in extraordinary circumstances.
So going off of that, if Schneider feels that one day Vertin will be someone special to her due to her character...
Why can't they start right now? Does love have to be done in a specific order for it to be real? Schneider herself is a rather unconventional person so, perhaps this line of thought isn't weird for her.
One day'll fall she'll fall in love with Vertin, so what's wrong with indulging in their relationship now? Whether it's after the first date or 10 dates, if they end up together then why not love each other from now?
That is to say, she doesn't love Vertin; she loves the Vertin she'll inevitably fall in love with the down the line.
Time is short. She has shit to do. They can figure out the middle part along the way but she's looking at the end-game.
She loves the future they could have had together.
Unfortunately she also knows they don't have time to build that future.
As for Vertin, she isn't in love with Schneider either but she feels she could be. Vertin doesn’t know this is the last time she'll see Schneider and thinks in a more conventional sense where they'll get closer day by day. However, Vertin can't have anything "normal" so she's robbed of that possibility. She tries not to think about what ifs since she can't change anything, meaning she ruminates on the past and reality of the situation.
Vertin's fixated on the loss she suffered in the past.
Schneider focused on future she knows they can't have.
But, perhaps in a convoluted way, they started falling in love the moment they actually looked at each other in the hours before the Storm. When their visions aligned in the present.
imagine the timekeeper and her crew being stuck in the poolrooms liminal space for a couple of days instead of, like, the typical beach episode
I don't know much about liminal spaces, so I looked it up.
Liminal spaces can be physical locations, such as airports, train stations, elevators, stairwells, roads, corridors, or hotels. They can also be emotional, such as a divorce, or psychological, such as puberty or menopause. Liminal spaces can also be metaphorical, such as a decision. Liminal spaces are meant to be temporary and can involve both positive and negative effects. They can evoke feelings of eeriness or discomfort because they are not meant for staying, but rather for passing through. Liminal space imagery often depicts transitional places that are unsettlingly devoid of people, and the aesthetic may convey moods of eeriness, surrealness, nostalgia, or sadness.
Since these influence emotions, arcanists might have stronger reaction to being placed in a liminal space. I think Vertin would hate it since it evokes feelings she doesn't like addressing, but she'll carry on as always. The tunnels under the Foundation and the Labyrinth under the Walden would also be considered liminal spaces and being trapped in another liminal space might get under her skin since she's lost people in both instances. On another note, a place devoid of people with only echoes of the past would upset her since that's what her fate is as Timekeeper. She gets left behind while everyone is taken by the Storm.
I think liminal spaces would trigger Sonetto's separation anxiety so bad. The Timekeeper will be in her sights at all times.
The horror crew would love it though! They'll want to shoot a whole damn movie. Jessica will be a water monster for the film. The water lovers likes Vila and La Source won't be particularity bothered either since water is a net positive for them.
Yenisei's ability will be crucial here and she will be the one who gets them out of the space.
The crew investigating an abandoned mall would also be pretty neat.
anything i do becomes vertin reverse 1999
Few scrappy doodles from the past few days. Been trying to get out of art block but it’s absolutely eating me alive :’)
There are other sketches but their too incomprehensible to post :’o
Ever since I started playing Reverse 1999, Regulus has been portrayed as Vertin's energetic friend, pirate rocker, maybe with ADHD, and overall fun gal. I didn't pay attention to her much, but after watching her anecdote, I realized that there were many things that I glossed over about her.
During Regulus' anecdote, I saw this line. That means Regulus was old enough to remember her mother's demeanor towards her or what her mother was like.
Regulus is a street kid who was practically raised by Mr. APPle. Broadcasting music illegally in her pirate ship, she has gotten trouble in the side of the law several times.
Although she never went to school, she is very bright (knowing mechanical know-hows in Laplace and doing Math in Apeiron).
It pains me that Regulus can sometimes be reduced to a comedy gag by the fandom. She might be seriously funny and memetic but she is also profoundly devoted to Vertin and a sweetheart. She was the first one Vertin saved in the suitcase after all!
This was brought to my attention when I saw a line during her anecdote. The mayor of Gold Dust (who was part of the Order of Enlightenment) wanted to invite Regulus to a worship for the Sufferer (Arcana) and Regulus expressed contempt for that:
This line means that Regulus knows about Vertin's past! This means that Vertin must have been comfortable enough to open up to her regarding the Breakaway incident that happened during Chapter 3.
She was also first to hug Vertin when she came back and cried bitterly from being separated from her.
When Regulus joined Vertin for the first time, Vertin was worried that she might feel burdened or restricted going with her. Then Regulus says this:
She was sweet in the beginning and she had been a loyal partner to Vertin ever since. I know that for sure since she went to prison multiple times already for her. She never gave up on Vertin and never stopped trying when the Foundation kept her unconcious.
This idea came to me in a vision apologies if somebody else did this already
I've been thinking about this AU for a while now but haven't really gotten a solid idea of which character should be which.
Though, I've already decided from the start that Sonetto would be Veronica, Vertin would be JD, and Schneider would be H. Chandler because... red. Other then those 3, everyone else is still up for debate. For example, Matilda. At first I wanted her to be Martha but then I had a thought of making her H. Duke.
If anyone's interested in my 2am thoughts of an au let me know what characters you think should be who. It'd be great.
