I have too many DinLuke ideas and I need opinions other than my own. What should I focus on first? I'm crippled by decision making. (I'll put more detailed descriptions below the cut if you care about that)

Feel free to comment any other opinions, I am struggling with the indecision. And if anyone wants to scream with me about any of these ideas I would welcome it with open arms :)

Meet Pre ANH AU: Din and Luke meet while Din is on a job on Tatooine and Luke inserts himself into Din's job (because he's bored) Din gets injured and has to spend time recovering under Luke's care and they fall for each other. Din has to leave once he recovers and promises to come back for Luke as soon as possible but, unbeknownst to both of them, Luke is pregnant.

Fantasy AU: Sort of a King Arthur vibe with Din finding the Darksaber and needing to reclaim the ancient kingdom of Mandalore. Din doesn't desire the throne, simply wanting to take care of Grogu (a boy he saved from a band of thieves) but he can't avoid his destiny. Luke is a Druid who wants to teach Grogu, who has Druid abilities, how to use magic and ends up assisting Din on his quest. The usual suspects also show up and help along the way.

Post S2 canon divergence: This is just my take on a slow burn gffa dinluke with a lot of the usual tropes. Mostly just "the wacky adventures of The Jedi and The Mandalorian: acquire children" because I need more of that in my life.

Greek Mythology AU: Luke is the demigod son of Anakin, the god of the heavens. He grew up to be a renowned hero, as many demigods do, and was sent on many quests. His newest quest sends him to the underworld to deliver a gift to the god of the dead. Little does he know, a vengeful god and the king who sent him on his quest have set him up. When Luke gets to underworld he finds out that he was meant to be the gift. Now he has to deal with Din, the god of the dead, who is outraged by Luke's arrival.

Apocalypse AU: The world has been taken over by a sickness that horrifically mutates people, animals, and even plants into killing machines. Din is just another survivor trying to make it through another day but finds his priorities change when he meets Grogu. Not long after taking in the child, Din realizes that the young boy has the ability to influence the creatures that have taken over the world. When people come after Grogu for his abilities Din has to put his trust into a mysterious man, Luke, to keep his son safe.

Medieval fantasy AU: The new Duke of Mandalore, Din Djarin, comes to Coruscant, the capital of the United Republic of Kingdoms, to sign treaties and make alliances. Many people expect Din to marry to strengthen his position so all eyes are on him, much to his discomfort. Meanwhile the Skywalker family's position is threatened by old enemies, leaving them vulnerable to attack. To solve both their problems Luke and Din get married, but now they have to convince everyone that this is a love match and not a marriage of convenience.

Harry Potter AU: This was mostly inspired by a comedy bit pointing out that Harry Potter was just Star Wars but with shitty lightsabers. The story would take place during the tri-wizard tournament and follow a similar storyline to the original. However, this has a focus on the romance between Din and Luke (obviously), the champion from Mandalore (Durmstrang) and the chosen one respectively. (Also I can make Luke trans just to stick it to JKR)

Spy X Family AU: Luke is a spy sent to look after Grogu who is an asset to the republic. Din found Grogu first on a job and is informed of Grogu’s importance by the mandos (mercenary guild). Republic wants Grogu to become a politician that can unite the two factions (Republic and Imperials). Mandos want Grogu to be knowledgeable of Mandalorians and be sympathetic to their causes. Both want Grogu to go to this elite school (has family requirements) that lead to Din and Luke making a fake family with Grogu to further the goals of their respective sides.

DinLuke Week Day 1 - Mand'alor & Alo'riduur

DinLuke week day 1 - Mand'alor & Alo'riduur

Uhhh here we go I guess, my first art post ever on Tumblr and it's DinLuke. I almost never draw fan art but thanks to DinLuke week I've now drawn several pieces for these two. I love them. I couldn't help it even if I wanted to.

On another note, I really liked doing the lighting for this! I also got to draw Luke in Padmé inspired fit which is one of my favorite things. Luke is a fashion icon and he must follow in the footsteps of his amazing mother.

DinLuke Week Day 1 - Mand'alor & Alo'riduur

Slight close up to get those details I worked way too hard on. As a note, the pattern on Luke's outer robe was hand drawn because all the pattern brushes I found didn't look quite right. So yeah.

Din/Luke Pacific Rim AU pt.2

Din/Luke Pacific Rim AU Pt.2
Din/Luke Pacific Rim AU Pt.2

Pt.1 | Pt.3 | Pt.4

Another addition to this AU because It's been living in my head rent free for ages. I can't do a Pacific Rim AU without recreating the iconic Kwoon scene. Also, I was too lazy to draw backgrounds so I just stole them from the movie  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Under the cut is a teaser of the fic I'm trying to write. It's a first draft, so there's probably some mistakes. Also, I'm still kind of in Screen Writing mode from school, so please don't mind if there's not a lot of internal character narration.

“Four points to two,” Luke calls after the final candidate falls. His emotions are carefully masked on his face but Din can see how tense he is.

“We’re wasting time, Marshal. He’s barely compatible with any of them, this isn’t going to work,” Luke says.

“What do you suggest?” The Marshal raises a brow.

“Put me in charge, I’m drift compatible with several cadets. We don’t need him.” Luke gestures towards Din. The look on his face makes Din’s blood boil. Contempt. What did he ever do to Luke to earn this?

“What’s your problem, Skywalker?” Din stomps towards the edge of the mat.

“I’ve already told you, I don’t think you're the right man for the job,” Luke replies. He’s now turned squarely towards Din, his face back to that eerie calm. It sends a shiver down Din’s spine.

“No, there’s more. You’ve got a problem with me.” Din steps closer, trying to ignore the piercing blue of Luke’s eyes.

“Enough! both of you.” Marshal Skywalker turns to them both.

“If you think you’re so much better, then let’s go.” Din points his bō at Luke. “If you win, you can pilot the Crest. If I win, you back off.” Din holds Luke's gaze, projecting his challenge.

“Neither of you are in the position to make that decision,” Anakin states, breaking the spell.

“What? Think your own blood isn’t good enough to beat me?” Din didn’t know Marshal Skywalker that well, but from what he did know, the man was prideful. Maybe it wasn’t the smartest move, but it got him what he wanted.

The Martial turned towards Luke, earning his attention. No words were exchanged between them, the Martial simply gave a nod. A brief look of satisfaction washed over Luke’s face. Din turned towards the mat to prepare for the fight before Luke’s eyes turned back to him.

Luke stepped to the edge of the mat, shoes and outer shirt removed. He bowed at the waist before stepping forward. He was in a simple black tank top and the standard cargo pants. It was the first time Din had seen any of his skin exposed beyond his face. His arms and neck were covered in pale, lightning-like scars that looked like they extended beyond what Din could see. He wasn’t sure what to make of them. He knew almost nothing about Luke when he really thought about it. Only what he heard from the news from the past four years.

He had to admit, it made him earn a little more respect for the kid. At first he’d seemed like a petulant child who was getting his favorite toy taken away, but now, Din wasn’t as sure that was the case. He had no more time to think on it as he and Luke passed each other on the mat, walking to opposite sides, then turning to face each other.

In the blink of an eye Luke swung his bō with the finesse of a warrior. He moved forward before stopping in the middle of the mat as he pulled his bō up in defense. Din followed suit, taking on a more aggressive starting position. He could tell Luke was analyzing him, eyes flitting around to every point of his body. Din took the opportunity to attack. In one swift moment he had his bō mimicking a strike at Luke’s skull.

“One, Zero.” The words had barely left his mouth before Luke made a counter attack. In a flash Luke had reversed their positions with a satisfied smirk.

Without wasting any more time the two began to fight again in an explosion of movement. The people in the kwoon reacted to them, but Din’s focus narrowed in until it was only them in the room. He watched Luke’s movements carefully, anticipating and blocking every attack that came and returning his own. He picked up on a franticness in Lukes’s movements and took advantage, landing an attack on his ribs.

“You’re too eager, you’re projecting your moves,” Din commented as they reset.

“I don’t need your advice.” Despite his words, Luke waited, ready for Din’s next move.

Luke swiftly blocked everything Din threw at him and pushed back even harder. In the next moment Luke attacked with a flurry of blows, catching Din off guard. He was stronger than he looked.

“Two, two.” Luke had once again evened the score.

There was barely a pause before they were at it again. This bout lasted longer than the others, both having picked up on each other’s gambit. They danced around each other, the only sound in Din’s ears were the clacking of their bō staffs and their heavy breathing. Neither was holding back.

In a blur of motion Luke darted towards Din’s legs, throwing him off balance. Din rolled out of the throw but as he lifted his head he was met with Luke’s bō to his throat. Luke's eyes were no less intense this close.

“Two, Three.” Luke stepped back into a ready position. “Better watch out, Djarin.” There was a satisfied smirk on his face. He was winning. Din wouldn’t give up that easily.

He pulled out every trick he had, but Luke seemed to always be a step ahead. He was too fast, almost as if he could read Din’s mind. From the outside it would almost look like this was rehearsed. In the end, it was Din’s weight advantage that won him the point. He moved in close and pinned Luke's arm before throwing him down to the mat. The blond hit the ground on his back, breath escaping his lungs from the impact.

Din almost went to help him up but Luke threw his legs backwards into a handstand before standing back up. He barely looked affected, the only sign of fatigue on him was the sweat on his forehead that matted down his blond hair.

“Three, Three,” Din called. “And there’s no need to show off.”

The next point would declare a winner. There was a smile on Luke’s face, different from the ones before. This one was more open, leaving Din feeling dizzy instead of insulted.

Din tried to understand it but there was no more time to ponder as Luke set on his next attacks. He was more aggressive than he’d been the rest of the fight but Din pushed back, not without some difficulty. Luke danced around Din with a frightening agility. The only thing that kept Din in the fight for so long were his reflexes. He knew he had to end this fight soon or Luke would eventually wear him down.

In a decisive move Din attacked at Luke’s head, trading off his defense for offense. He had Luke on the move, nearly pushing him off the mat. However, before he could land a finishing blow Luke darted to the side, slipping his leg between Din’s and toppling him to the floor. When Din processed what happened, he was pinned under Luke’s hips on his chest and his bō at his neck.

Cheers erupted from the gathered crowd, but Din’s view had narrowed into Luke as he stood up. Din stayed on the ground, still a bit stunned from the end of the fight. He wasn’t really sure how to feel about its outcome. But one thing was for certain, he and Luke were drift compatible. Very drift compatible.

Din was so lost in his thoughts he didn’t even realize Luke was reaching down to him until his hand was in his face. He took it and allowed Luke to help him to his feet.

“You felt it too, didn’t you?” Luke asked.

“Yeah.”

Star Wars Demigod AU Aesthetics

My take on who star wars characters godly parents would be!

Star Wars Demigod AU Aesthetics

Luke and Leia are both kids of Aphrodite.

For Luke, I feel like he would have powerful charm speak and much like Leia, be the strongest person in combat in a room despite being underestimated by everyone based on appearance. I also love the idea of the twins having everyone fall in love with them all the time (I think they would make a bit out of it). Some casual Din/Luke is also in this aesthetic (more on Din later).

Star Wars Demigod AU Aesthetics

Leia aesthetic for being a daughter of Aphrodite.

I think that Leia would have been claimed sooner than Luke was (coming to camp when she was younger) and thus she knows how to control her charm speak more than Luke does. She would also be more of a realist with love as she has had her fair share of insincere suitors.

Leia would also be the best shooter at camp half blood. Some Leia/Han is also in this aesthetic!

Star Wars Demigod AU Aesthetics

Han would be the son of Hermes.

He is always traveling, good at thievery/cunning actions, and is a good navigator. I think that he would be sent on his first quest with Luke and Leia (before Luke is claimed) and would be micro managing their travels.

He constantly tries to beat Leia at shooting but they both know that he isn't as good as she is (Leia/Han is also incorporated in this aesthetic).

Star Wars Demigod AU Aesthetics

Din would be the son of Hephaestus.

This one took me a while but honestly it fits.

I think that beyond the armor (which he would 100% wear at camp half blood), he is also super efficient at doing repairs (but not as much as his fellow Hephaestus kid Peli), and uses fire. He would have gone on a lot of quests and is experienced in it (his bounty hunting).

I also just love the idea of a Hephaestus and Aphrodite kid being togethers (thus Din/Luke is in this aesthetic too).

Star Wars Demigod AU Aesthetics

Finally, Lando.

He would be a son of Dionysus. He has the right vibes:

Strong, fun, goes with the flow, and a bit sneaky. He would totally be an enjoyer of good theater and wine.

I like to think that he and Han have been camp besties for a while. He definitely would be the type of person to go on one quest (which was the most important one) and just have so much credit from then on thus making him the person everyone wants on a quest.

Anyways, thank you for coming to my ted talk, please lmk what you think or any characters I should do!

The Masks of Nobility- Chapter 1

Jikta had no desire to marry. She had, until now, been successful in avoiding such an arrangement. She was fortunate that both her family and potential suitors quickly recognized the simple fact—she was ill-suited for it.

To put it plainly, when the topic of romance arose, she had little to no understanding of it. She could recognize it in others—the way her dear cousin George looked at Bartosh (the latter would have told her if it was mutual, given their close bond), the way her father gazed at her mother, or even the subtle flirtations among the household staff. But she herself had never felt even the faintest flutter. She loved her family, of course, but familial love was not the same as romantic love. Or so George told her.

She preferred her art—studying the form of the living world, sketching it with a precision that sometimes unnerved people. Her paintings had become so lifelike that George often jested she must be a witch. Her lack of romantic inclinations, coupled with her pursuit of biological and anatomical studies (which her family wisely kept discreet), were reasons enough to deter suitors. But the greatest deterrent was her own ‘odd’ nature. Many found her logical assertions strange, though she struggled to understand why; to her, they seemed perfectly sensible. Yet this perceived defect was so offensive that it outweighed even the vast dowry her father and uncle could provide.

George often reassured her that she needn’t worry—he would always protect her. He had promised this since childhood when it first became apparent that she did not fit into the world as neatly as other noblewomen. He came to her for counsel on political and managerial matters, where her mind was a boon. And in turn, he explained her social missteps and how to navigate them. His presence at gatherings, ever the lively and charming one, made her participation tolerable.

Not that she attended such events often. And if she did, she did everything in her power to avoid engagement, retreating into her comfortable routine.

War made men desperate. And desperate men made desperate deals. Her uncle was not desperate, but Lord Hanush was. And so, the marriage was arranged.

Jikta had to admit—Lord Capon had been just as averse to the betrothal as she. Several months had passed since they were informed, and she was quite impressed (and grateful) for the litany of excuses that delayed the inevitable. George had been outraged, demanding that their uncle break the engagement. A foolish endeavor—one she would have advised against—for it only spurred Lord Hanush to secure the match more aggressively.

---

Jikta stared longingly at her sketches—portraits of home, of her friends, the household staff, her mother. Her father, uncle, and George rode alongside the retinue ensuring their safe passage to Rattay.

“Cousin, look—it’s Rattay,” George said.

Jikta peered over the top of her book. The city loomed in the distance, still some ways off, but the outskirts caught her interest. The flora suggested a strong presence of boars. She wondered if she could explore the forests to better understand them.In her musings, she had ignored George. “Sakra, Jikta! Look ahead!”

She blinked back to attention. George rarely grew frustrated with her, even when he had every right. But his tone now required notice.

An entourage of horses approached them."Sir Hanush!" her uncle called out. "What a generous welcome."Ever the diplomat, he gestured to the cart. "Allow me to introduce my dear niece."Her father extended a hand to help her down, whispering, "As we practiced, dear."She would miss his gentle, kind support.

Jikta stepped out of the cart, not as the woman she truly was, but as the noble lady she was expected to be. She placed the mask upon herself—an approachable smile, the tranquility of a blushing bride. Her gaze swept over the men before her, assessing, calculating.

She hoped for a kind husband—one who would leave her be, who would not take his rights often, if at all. Perhaps he would even allow her to pursue her studies.Perhaps that was too much to wish for.

Two young men stood out in the entourage. The shorter, broad-shouldered one with dark hair had striking eyes—not simply for their blue shade, but for the depth within them. They were the eyes of someone who had endured trials and perhaps still was. A rare quality for a noble of Capon’s standing.

The taller man, dressed in fine attire, was another matter. His gaze was one of disinterest—bordering on disdain. Accusatory, as if she had committed some unspoken crime.Unfortunately, this must be her husband.

She bowed politely to Hanush, who let out a thunderous laugh.“She will do you well! Now, introduce yourself!”

There was something commanding about the way Hanush spoke to his ward. His booming voice unsettled her.

Hans Capon’s expression was unreadable as he took her hand, pressing a formal kiss upon it. A forced courtesy. A mask, just like hers.

“I am most fortunate for such a fair wife,” he said, though his tone was devoid of warmth. “I am Hans Capon.”

She withdrew her hand quickly, resisting the urge to wipe it against her skirts. She hated being touched.

Jikta bowed, responding as custom dictated. “I thank you, my lord. I am most pleased to see you have recovered from the plague, sweating sickness, and—if I recall correctly—turning into a horse?”

Her father squeezed her arm. George let out a poorly concealed snort. The silence that followed made it quite clear—she had made a mistake.

Hans raised his eyebrows, momentarily stunned, before regaining his composure. “Yes, it was most distressing to be kept from this… wondrous day,” he said smoothly. She smiled at the falsehood. Two liars, wearing the masks of nobility.

“I do hope you no longer have a taste for hay,” she quipped. Her father and Hanush both cleared their throats. Hanush spoke "Welcome to Rattay. I have arranged for Henry of Skalitz, ward of Sir Radzig," he gestured to the shorter man, "and Hans to escort Lady Jikta and her cousin to their rooms. You good sirs," he said to her uncle and father, "will join myself and Radzig to celebrate this wonderful day."

----

Later, in the Gardens

The gardens were beautiful, brimming with a vast array of herbs. Jikta, momentarily forgetting her circumstances, exclaimed with excitement."May I look amongst your herb garden, my lord?"Hans seemed taken aback by her sudden enthusiasm but nodded.

George chimed in, ever her advocate, "Perhaps we can take a turn? Jikta loves the outdoors and has a great interest in plants."Encouraged, she turned to Hans. "I noticed several meadows nearby contain a particular dispersal of flowers—indicating a large boar population. Do you get many boars, my lord?"

Hans tilted his head, silent in thought.Henry, the man introduced as Radzig’s ward, spoke up instead. "My lord loves to hunt, Lady Jikta." She turned to Henry eagerly. "Ah! Then you must know about the flora preferred by the animals you track! What subspecies have you hunted?"

Hans’s mask returned. "I know little of flowers, my lady. Only the language of flora as is due proper."She deflated slightly, sensing he already found her an irritation. George stepped in. "What Jikta means is—back home, she devised a system using flowers to locate game. It increased our hunts tenfold."

Hans’s mask cracked. "Really?"Jikta brightened and eagerly began explaining. With George smoothing over her bluntness and Henry supporting a sulking Hans, her betrothed soon dropped his cold facade. He even regaled them with an amusing story of his and Henry’s misadventure with a boar.

Jikta thought, perhaps this could work.

------

She had slipped out of her chambers for a quiet walk, seeking fresh air and solitude. But as she turned a corner, she stopped mid-stride.

Two figures stood close—foreheads touching, whispering in hushed tones. Lovers, she thought at first, though the atmosphere between them was not entirely tender. There was tension. Most likely members of the household staff. Still, she ducked into the shadows. If she were found wandering alone, it would be improper.

She began to sneak past them.

Then she froze. The voice—clear, familiar, unmistakable—belonged to her betrothed.

"Christ, Henry, she's mad! Absolutely mad!" Hans's laughter rang out, careless and sharp. "It explains why she's unwed. She’s a rich looker—when I first saw her, I couldn't understand it."

The other man—Henry—sighed. "Mad and genius are often the same thing, milord."

Hans huffed.

Henry chuckled, tilting his head back, exposing the curve of his throat. "Maybe, just maybe, your heir gets her smarts and avoids trouble. Unlike you." He smirked. "I could retire."Hans leaned in. Pressed his face into Henry’s neck. Then, slowly, deliberately, he placed a kiss there. Jikta’s breath caught in her throat.

Hans’s lips moved upward, tracing Henry’s jaw until he captured his lips in a desperate, passionate embrace. "I'll never let you go," Hans murmured between kisses, his voice raw. "You'll never retire. I'll make trouble if you do." Henry laughed, quiet and warm. "Of course you will, my lord."

Their foreheads touched, their breaths mingling. Jikta should have turned away, but she could not. Hans sighed, as if a great weight pressed upon him. "Don't speak of heirs."

The shift in his voice was almost imperceptible, but Jikta caught it. The way it wavered, unsteady.

"The thought of bedding her feels… tainted. Wrong. I—"Henry’s expression softened. A look of quiet, immeasurable tenderness.

"Hans."

There was nothing else in that single word, yet it carried everything—understanding, sorrow, devotion.Henry whispered, a teasing lightness in his tone, though his eyes held something deeper. "You've been with many—a great many, as I recall. The infamous Hans Capon, conqueror of hearts. Fear not."

Hans did not laugh. He did not smirk.Instead, he tucked his head into the crook of Henry’s neck, as if seeking shelter.

"Not since you," he confessed. His voice was barely audible. "Never since you. You are… my everything."

Henry exhaled slowly, his hand moving to Hans’s hair, fingers threading through the strands in a soothing motion.

"Aye," he whispered. "And you to me."

The weight of their grief settled over them both.

Jikta did not understand the world of love. She never had. But she understood what she saw before her.

This was not desire alone. This was devotion. This was belonging.

The priest would call it sin. But the only sin Jikta saw was forcing the destruction of something so profound in the name of nobility. She began to step back, her foot knocking into a basket.

It clattered against the stone.

She held her breath.

Silence.

Neither of them stirred.

She slipped away, unseen.

---

The Next Morning

Jikta paced her chambers.

Neither she nor her husband-to-be wanted this marriage. That much was clear but the battle against it was lost—for now.

Marriage was a document, a binding contract, a political arrangement. That much could not be undone.

There was another matter. The one that loomed over her like an axe.

Heirs.

Jikta had never given much thought to the act of producing them before. But now—now she knew. It was not merely that she, herself, did not wish to bear a child. It was that forcing Hans into such intimacy would be a cruelty beyond measure. It felt wrong. Morally, deeply, fundamentally wrong.

But avoiding it forever? That was another matter entirely.

She exhaled sharply.

No. For now, she could stall. There were ways to delay—many ways. She could not stop the marriage, but she could control this.

She pulled out her study of plants and set to work.

She could not approach Hans about it. That would mean revealing what she had seen. And if she had miscalculated—if his shame turned to fury—her family could suffer for it.

That was not a risk she was willing to take.

So she planned.

One thing was certain—she had no intention of bedding her husband on their wedding night.

She would see to that.

----

This is my first fanfic! I was inspired by how amazing the Hansry community is and decided to give writing a try. The first chapter is from Jikta’s perspective, chapter two will be Hans’s, and chapter three will be Henry’s. I’m also thinking about adding one from Radzig’s POV. Let me know what you think! Posting here until I get an AO3 account.

Fic Idea?

Been re-watching ATLA recently and got the sudden urge to finish a fic I’ve been working on. It’s a Haikyuu AU fic set in the world of ATLA and follows the *general* plot of the show, but I take a lot of liberties to make it how I want. It’s pretty light on shipping in the beginning but I have plans. Really I just wanted to practice writing plot without getting caught up in world building and character development like I usually do. So I decided to post about it here since I want to get feedback. Even though I’ll be posting on AO3 I wanted something a little more behind the scenes to get some extra interaction.

Here are some brief concepts that found their way into this little project of mine.

Hinata is the avatar. There are definitely a good number of candidates for this role, but I thought I’d have the most fun writing Hinata as the main character for this one. His journey in Haikyuu is full of struggle and growth and I think there are a lot of parallels there to work with when it comes to him being the avatar.

There are a lot of side characters in this. They aren’t super prominent but I think it’s fun when some more overlooked characters pop in here and there. Like Dateko are all guards on the walls of Ba Sing Se or Nekoma fills the general role of the white lotus, but as more of a secret rebel group within the fire nation.

As a consequence of the plot I have laid out, these are the main pairings:

Hinata/Kageyama

Bokuto/Akaashi

Tsukishima/Yamaguchi

Oikawa/Iwaizumi

These four get the most development and drama but plenty of others get their moments and are certainly not ignored (mostly because I love them too much). Those being:

Daichi/Suga

Asahi/Nishinoya

Kuroo/Kenma

Sakusa/Atsumu

Osamu/Suna

Ushijima/Tendo

and some others who don’t really get too much attention but are mentioned

I’ve seen a lot of people put Tsukishima in the role of Yue, which makes sense with his name and whatnot, but I went with something a little different. I have Akaashi filling that roll and I took inspiration from Yue and Sokka’s relationship to write Bokuto and Akaashi’s. I think, like Yue, Akaashi would have this sense of duty to his people and that is very interesting to write IMO. (Don’t worry, major character death is not one of the tags for this).

I’ll probably have art for this! I’ve done a couple of sketches already but I think I’d like to do at least some doodles for most of the chapters.

There will be a lot of angst, but nothing super hardcore. I’m a sucker for angst with a happy ending, so if you don’t like sad endings you’ve come to the right place!

There is a lot of character exploration. I’ll do my best to keep everyone in character but I also think they would be different when put into these situations. I try my best to write them as believably as possible while still also having them serve the roles they need to in the story.

I’ll probably post more about this even if not many people are interested. I think it’ll be fun to document this little journey of mine and perhaps keep some ideas written down somewhere. I also love to bounce ideas off of people so if anyone would like to reach out I’d be super happy!

Din/Luke Pacific Rim AU pt.4

Din/Luke Pacific Rim AU Pt.4
Din/Luke Pacific Rim AU Pt.4

Pt.1 | Pt.2 | Pt.3

Posting part four of this for a slightly late Star Wars day post. (It's technically still May 4th for me).

I had a lot of fun designing/drawing their drivesuits. I've always been a fan of drawing armor, so this was definitely my comfort zone.

More sneak peeks for this WIP fic under the cut, for funzies. And may the 4th be with you!

Din rolls his shoulders in his drivesuit as he makes his way through the shatterdome. After all these years he thought it might be odd to get back into the suit, but it's like he never left. It's almost uncanny how natural it feels to put on the old polycarbonate armor.

After the confrontation between Marshal Skywalker and Luke, Din isn't sure what to expect as he makes his way to the Crest's conn-pod. It was clear Luke was the best candidate, even ignoring their drift compatibility, he was the only other person who had experience in an actual Jaeger. It made no sense for the Marshal to keep Luke grounded from a strategical standpoint, so it must be personal.

It didn't take a genius to realize that the relationship between the Marshal and his son was strained. Din didn't have the first clue as to why, but despite it, he understood where the Marshal was coming from. Even with everything on the line, he's not sure he could ever willingly put his son's life on the line. Thinking about it, Din is surprised that the Marshal even let Luke pilot for as long as he did. If Grogu grew up wanting to be a pilot, if the war lasted that long, Din isn't sure he'd be able to handle it.

But the way Luke and him fought. His skin was still electric from the way they met strike for strike. Din can't imagine piloting with anyone else after that. He isn't sure he'll even be compatible enough with any of the other candidates. Then what? Will he just go home? Watch from the sidelines as they make a run for the breech? He isn't sure what's worse, being unsuccessful here and watching his slow death on the TV, or being unsuccessful at the breech. Either way he'll die knowing he failed, failed the world, failed his son. He can't let that happen. So he'll just have to succeed. And the only way to do that is with Luke.

Din had just made up his mind when he approached the scaffolding that would lead him to the Crest's conn-pod. He was about to turn around and find the Marshal when a familiar figure walked towards him.

"Luke..?" Din trailed off. Luke was wearing a shiny black drivesuit and a sunny smile.

"Looks like I won that bet after all." Luke jogs over to Din's side, giving him a friendly punch on the arm before making his way to the ladder.

Din stays frozen for a long moment, unsure of what to make of the situation. He just stares as Luke begins to climb the ladder up to the conn-pod, helmet under his arm. Halfway up Luke pauses and turns towards him, meeting his gaze.

"You coming or not, partner?" Luke asks with a smile bordering on mischievous.

Din can't but help but return a small smile before jogging to catch up to Luke.

Just a cute little moment before reliving ✨trauma✨ in the drift!

Day 3: Battle Couple Track: 'Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've?)' - Buzzcocks (Spotify / YouTube)

I am actually a sucker for a good Battle Couple pose, absolutely love em. Especially when it involves iconic blaster and saber duos.
