... In which Lily says James Potter is as bad as Severus Snape calling her a mudblood. And she expands on that, equating James being a show off, conceited, walking around and hexing people for trival cause is equal to calling Lily a mudblood. It doesn't seem like the insult from Snape meant that much to her by this comparison of it equalling petty silly teenage dunderheadedness that isn't even personal to Lily. Pissed her off, certainly. Hurt her? It doesn't seem so.

I contend that the "mudblood" moment was of little importance to Lily - it was only a trigger, a last straw, the final pebble to break this friendship. But to Severus, it was a mountain; he didn't understand or see what had been building on Lily's side and of course he hung the fallout on the tip of the iceberg that was all he could see.

That was mean of her. She had no obligation to stay his friend but given his apology attempt and their 7ish years of (best on his sidd) friendship, she cannot have not understood how big this was to him. She chose to kick him away instead of just shutting the door.

in terms of the spider-men/women/pigs, i don’t really have a favourite. however, i do have a LEAST favourite, and that is the MCU Peter Parker portrayed by Tom Holland.

The integrity of Spider-Man comes from that fact that he is a working-class hero, fights for the little guy, and his origin story.

and all that was destroyed once the MCU got involved.

why did they not use his origin story? does oscorp exist? harry osborn?? what?? who tf is ned? why does he have powers? why does this movie suck so much? Why are there zero stakes?

the writers obviously noticed the problem, because in nwh, they rapidly back-pedaled to him being poor, making his own suits, and not having a billionaire on speed-dial to bail him out of his problems despite the billionaire still being a manipulative jackass and treating him like shit, while representing everything he stands against.

also, i did NOT like the idea of ‘mj’ being a collective spider-man gf term and just changing up the name. zendaya could’ve been mary-jane watson. michelle jones just...

i don’t even care about the fact she’s not a comic character - it’s just the fact they made her mj instead? when mary-jane is mj? idk i just didn’t like that. there are SO many comic characters he could’ve fallen in love with. it didn’t need to be this oc mj. i know people hate sam raimi mj, but she was still cool with sexist writing. comic mary-jane is such a badass. why did they not replicate that? why not ask zendaya to play original mary-jane? ‘cus she’s not white? that shit ain’t a ‘homage’ to the og mj, it’s just awful.

irondad as a concept needs to die already. please. im so done. peter is manipulated and ignored - CONSTANTLY - by Tony. that’s not acting like a father, it’s acting like a jackass. and he HAS  parental figure - aunt May. and he had a father figure - uncle Ben. irondad is creepy and reeks of grooming.

plus, they stole a bunch of concepts (for nwh too, but im not specifically talking about that) from miles morales and itsv. they copied the spider-men meeting each other, and copied miles’ personality for mcu peter. and somehow, miles is STILL more likeable. i miss the days when you could scroll through the peter parker tag without seeing tom holland and r*bert d*wney jr.

but also, literally every other spider-man would’ve been team cap. plus, andrew also said so. they’re working-class heroes. to argue against that is to be wrong. i don’t blame tom!peter for being manipulated and blackmailed. i blame the writers for being assholes, and most importantly, robert downey jr for his 15 million dollar profit off of 8 minutes of mediocre (at best) acting. -(also, saying - he’s such a good actor, he’s tony in real life! - literally makes him a bad actor with no range. someone reviewed dolittle, saying that it was so bad that it seemed like rdj was trying to sabotage his own movie. and i agree.) peter was manipulated and misinformed into being team tony. there is no variation of spider-man that would EVER be team iron-man. unless they’re fckign crazy.

also, tom holland said that if peter parker could bring anyone back from the dead, it would be tony st*rk. no btich.

tobey’s and andrew’s are actually ACCURATE spider-men, and the mcu needs to take notes.

if you don’t mind me asking, what is the whole kavos/ slazo situation? i’m new to the fandom and i keep seeing too many conflicting stories.

hi :)) I'm so sorry it took me a while to answer this.

just fyi I'm no expert on this since I try to avoid too much drama but I'm just going to try my best to explain quite briefly. I don't know how much you know, so here's some general stuff.

kavos - he made a lot of videos on alex and some of his friends around 2-3 years ago. alex made some back in 2017. to put it simply, kavos really dislikes alex and makes videos on him every time there's new "drama". I'm not saying alex never does anything wrong, but kavos is usually very unfair and biased when it comes to his videos on alex.

slazo - slazo was a friend of alex and they had made a couple of videos together. however, last year slazo's ex-girlfriend chey made tweets accusing slazo of rape and emotional abuse/manipulation.

she provided some DMs as proof (I'm not gonna include everything but you can probably look this up). alex together with youtubers hyojjin, kwite and kinganii (alex's ex) and others supported chey. it was later revealed that they knew about the tweets from chey before they were posted and wanted to take away slazo's influence because they believed he was dangerous. they did not consult slazo first.

however, slazo made a video explaing that most of the DMs were out of context and put together to portray a narrative. a lot of chey's stories were according to slazo, wrong. some of cheys claims he admitted to, but chey's accusations were heavy and not proven.

personally, I think some of the things slazo actually did admit to were pretty bad (watch the video if you want the details). in addition alex claimed to have heard other stories behind the scenes. although people question alex's motivations, I believe he was mainly trying to support a friend.

still, the way this was handled wasn't great. it took alex and the others a long time to "apologise", and alex continued his support for chey for a while. he got tons of backlash. kavos made videos claiming alex was a "snake", "a danger to the platform' and just a terrible person. in the end alex apologized for not talking to slazo privately and handling the situation better. this is the apology/explanation from alex.

personally, I believe this apology is good, but a lot of people don't, including kavos ofc.

recently kavos has made a video regarding the inabber/eboys drama. I have other posts about that, but keep in mind that they're my personal opinions.

anyways, this stuff isn't easy to put into just one post, but I hope this helped you ♥️

Very much not my normal posting but since antisemitism is very actively rising, I feel like it's worth it:

Pinely is a Youtuber who's been doing a series on conspiracy theories and antisemitism. He's Jewish himself and his videos do a good job at exploring how people fall down antisemitic rabbit holes and how conspiracy theories relate to antisemitism (he's one of the only people ive seen who, when talking about shane dawson, specifically called out how antisemitism tied in to his shilling of conspiracy theories to kids). He's also just very funny (in my opinion) and a Jewish, non-white, non-American commentary channel, which is rare and refreshing. If you want to learn more about antisemitism, his videos might be something to check out. I rarely ever see people call out antisemitism specifically in commentary videos even when they call out racism, misogyny, etc., which makes watching someone tackle antisemitism so head on very nice.

I know it is hard to hear this, but we have had yet another instance where "believe victim" has been used with malice to ruin someone's life. We saw it happen to Slazo and it was a fluke. We saw it happen to Kwite with similar results. Who is next? This is why people, particularly men, are afraid of interacting with people. It's not because they have intent to harm anyone, but because they can't know if the other person has intent to ruin their life. I am immediately skeptical of ANYONE who comes forward with allegations on social media, especially people with any kind of platform. Mob justice isn't justice, and anyone who goes to Twitter before seeking actual justice is immediately flagged in my brain and I am skeptical of the claims.

I read the same post you did. Like many of you, I am a survivor of sexual assault. Reading it illicited visceral reactions in me, as it is intended to. You have to take a step back. I personally thought about the Slazo accusations, and waited. Turns out, I was right. It absolutely fucking disgusts me that someone would actively try to ruin someone's life with false accusations, and I absolutely think Orion should face retaliation for actual real life defamation. Do I think Kwite will press charges? Honestly, I don't know. I haven't seen any of his content in years and judging by his video he just wants all the shit over and to be left alone.

As far as I'm concerned, people who fabricate rape and sexual assault allegations are just as bad as actual rapists. Abuse comes in many, many forms and it seems many of you forget what abusers will do to their victims. We literally witnessed the flip side first hand with Creepshow Art.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Far, far too many of you went for the hat trick, including some of my close friends.

Blindly believing victims only hurts real victims. Starting a mob will destroy evidence (deleting texts, editing messages, etc) and after a few times of this people will stop believing actual victims. Have you ever heard of the boy who cried wolf?
