Late night doodle turned proper art. No I don't know where this came from but the title alludes to some headcanons abt Mag's insecurities.
Old Man Yaoi but with frogs.
Idea received from this tweet.
new reports indicate your friends think about you when you're not there. wow. big if true
I'm making this post to announce that there will be She-Ra Live Blogging happening now. It does include art tho so it's still art related but yes hi hello spop fandom it's nice to finally meet you.
I'm 23 years old, bi, nonbinary, an artist, & also I'm a fucking idiot too.
I've never seen She-Ra.
Okay, well, I HAVE seen the original 1980s She-Ra show.
But we'll discuss that later when relevant.
I have.....vague nostalgia I guess?
I did WATCH both the original He-Man & She-Ra as a kid.
But I only did so if I didn't have a better option.
As for the reboot:
See, I've never seen this show. But I decided this year, I want to experience the whole thing. So, instead of binging it, I've decided I want to keep track of my experience going through this entire show. Episode by episode. In order to see how I feel as the show goes on, to see what effect it has on me, & it's also an excuse to get myself practicing art in a cozy way. How so?
Okay let me break it down.
Every single episode will be watched & then have a blog post made discussing my thoughts on the episode, & along with that:
Each time I watch an episode, I want to draw an art piece to go with the post, so it'll get me drawing consistently & maybe I'll grow as an artist in the time it takes me to watch the whole thing.
When this show first came out, I was still stuck in my 'anti-sjw edgelord white boy' phase, I had yet to realize that I was bi & even less aware that I'm nonbinary. It was a dark period of my life. I passed on this show largely because I felt like I wouldn't be a good human or whatever. Well, I'm still depressed & sad but I'm much more matured & no longer in the garbage angsty idiot teenage white boy mindset I was once in. & Idk, I know this show means a lot to a lot of folks.
I want to see how it affects me, understand what made this reboot click with so many people, understand why there was a lot of idk, 'controversy' about it? Idk why but I know there was a lot of shit spewed & I guess I'll see what the fuss was about there.
And ultimately, look I think I'm repeating myself now so just:
I wanna take this journey. And I hope you will accompany me on this journey. Maybe by the end, I'll have grown, maybe you will too.
Grown both as an artist & as a person. So-
BY THE POWER OF-Wait, wait shit wrong show.
Ahem
FOR THE HONOR OF GREYSKULL....
I HAVE THE POWER (to watch a cartoon about some lady with a big sword who hits things really good with said sword)
I will be making a proper pinned post later that will keep track. So this is just the "hello" post I guess
Wish me luck, I hope you enjoy the journey.
I might start posting these edits I make more often?
I post this video knowing full well that only 5 people will actually understand the Ham joke. Even then, they won't likely find it even half as funny as I do, even if they DO know what it's from.
Anyways gonna talk about the process it took making this as I ended up learning more about video editing doing this.
So I had to mask out the object Luz was picking up for this, so what I did was split the video into single frames & used the frames where Luz was kneeling down & the frames where she's out of the way, and spliced together the shots of the background together to mask out the object via like 3 layers of the same shot with various parts being erased & whatnnot.
I've never actually tried this kind of editing, & I'm willing to bet most people are like: "Yeah no shit, Einstein. This is basic editing stuff. You're just figuring this out now?"
Well, yeah. This was new to me. But I was really proud of how it turned out. & it also resulted in me making a fully blank version of this background as a byproduct of making this silly edit.
I know this probably isn't THAT impressive & I'm sure someone else could do this way better than I did. But I'm still proud of how well this ended up turning out. It was a learning process for me but I feel like I made progress with learning video editing stuff & even art stuff. Idk man, I felt proud.
THAT BEING SAID THIS WAS FAR LESS PAINFUL THAN HOW MUCH OF A NIGHTMARE MAKING THAT AMPHIBIA GREENSCREEN EDIT FOR THE ANDRIAS SHITPOST WAS.
HOLY FUCK THAT SUCKED.
Daniel Watches She-Ra & The Princesses Of Power
Today's She-Ra Watchthrough Art: Another Messy Glimmer Sketch
Okay so, it's safe to say as of episode 2:
Glimmer is my favorite by a wide fuckin' mile she's so real.
I don't know if it's been made obvious to anyone, but in case you haven't noticed yet. I have a huge soft spot for characters that fit under a very specific aesthetic. Glimmer most certainly fits it.
(I don't even like MHA but I do love Mina, wish the show was good)
I find it really funny that when Adora turns into She-Ra she just is like, bigger. Like one of She-Ra's superpowers is being fucking tall.
Like being tall is one of her magical abilities.
I really liked the moment Glimmer actually started sounding like she was about to cry. Phenomenal voice acting right there, that alone says so much.
Just hearing Glimmers' voice breaking & hearing her struggling to hold back crying in the middle of her rant.
It just makes everything she's been saying feel a lot more impactful now. Seeing that it had this much of an affect on her.
She doesn't even specify how many people were lost. Like, fuck she might mean it's not just a few, it's not a thousand it's probably like millions.
Like, they didn't have to flashback or explain it, just that one moment made me go "Oh shit." It tells you more than enough to understand what kind of horrible shit she's been through. Amazing voice acting right there. I love it.
Shadow Weaver is still a cunt. Fuck you shadow weaver.
Hope your pillow is warm on both sides you wizard bitch.
Also Bow was literally the best this episode he was just like so endearing & every time he spoke I had a big goofy smile on my face. He's so fucking joyful. His optimism is infectious.
What else happened uhhhhh.....
Cat-Ra is angry because idk she's lesbian or something & she's decided to make it everyone elses' problem.
Like geez, Cat-Ra was throwing a real HISSY fit at the end there.
(please laugh i'm fucking desperate here)
Also I see they kept Swiftwind in this reboot.
Please.....
PLEASE TELL ME THEY KEPT HIS FUCKING WEIRD POPEYE GRUFF CHAINSMOKER VOICE.
LIKE IN THE ORIGINAL SHOW HE JUST SOUNDS LIKE THE NARRATOR FROM DOOM 2016. IT'S SO FUCKING FUNNY.
WHY DOES THE MAGIC SPARKLE PEGASUS SOUND LIKE HE'S ABOUT TO TURN TO ADORA & THEN JUST:
I really fucking hope he still sounds like that because it's the funniest thing ever & I adore it.
So anyways, new ship dropped.
I ship these two & they are canon & nobody can fucking stop me.
If they don't kiss I'm going to burn down a church.
Don't be surprised if most of the she-ra watchalong art is just them.
Also Hordak showed up. He seems like he's a better villain in this one but he's still not even close to Skeletor levels yet.
YAWN.
You're gonna have to wow me a lot more than that, Mr. Whore-Dak.
ive been thinkin abbt akkolotte all day…theyre soft
