I’m just starting season 3 of Stranger Things and, ugh, I have feelings and I must write about them.
TL;DR: The Duffers are not prepared for the challenge the Stranger Things season format presents and the characters suffer for it.
So here, my complaint dump under the cut.

That was your last warning.

I was planning to take a small social media break but I saw the amazing headcanon that Argyle and Billy might have been friends in California! It such a sweet idea that I just had to draw something with that :) There’s something so special about childhood friendships and having seen someone through everything including growth spurts and the preteen awkward phase! And in a scenario where Billy lived, seeing that pizza van would be like some sort of miracle after everything he’s endured.
Preach Girl!
dear americans,
do something! germany has been there. people weren’t taking hitler seriously at first, they looked down on him. hindenburg was like let’s just let him do whatever he wants, at least he’s keeping the citizens quiet, what could possibly go wrong.
don’t be like hindenburg & don’t be like the germans back then.
don’t stay silent! do something!
sincerely, a german girl
TikTokers saying "oh you love billy but hate argyle" uh what 😃
I've literally never met a billy fan who said anything bad about Argyle. I mean... I love both characters. This narrative is getting old fast.
I don't know where they got these ideas from, honestly.
So if you like... a fictional character... who happens to be a teenage ab*se victim... then you're automatically racist and/or homophobic?
If you want to really get into this, I think you mean IT character Henry Bowers, and he and Billy are not the same. The Duffers wanted them to be, but fortunately Dacre made sure that didn't happen.
You're forgetting that ST is literally a bunch of Stephen King references without substance or originality. The Duffers wanted Billy to be Henry Bowers. If you think Billy was bad, I suggest you read IT (the movies are available too in case y'all don't know how to fucking read).
argyle being an older brother to billy when
Hey duffle bags, way to shat all over Dacre’s hard work on trying to humanize Billy whilst he couldn’t be on set to defend him.
“Is defending Billy Hargrove really the hill you want to die on?”
Well yeah I’ve already planted my feet so like
me, aware that billy isn’t coming back, next friday when he indeed doesn’t come back @ the duffels
no but I think that if Billy Hargrove ever got the chance to meet Wayne Munson he’d short circuit? like, here is a man that, for all intents and purposes, comes from his walk of life, who is a little bit gruff and sort of rough around the edges, who is raising a boy not too unlike Billy and who shows that boy genuine love and affection the likes of which Billy has never truly known. Wayne would never think of raising his voice to Eddie, let alone his fist. not just that, but he actively defends his nephew against a town that has written him off as a freak. Billy has never had an adult come to bat for him the way that Wayne does for Eddie and I truly don’t think that Billy would know how to wrap his head around that.
and and and if he ever hung around Wayne??? picture it: Billy going to Eddie’s for the first time, maybe for some stupid school project they got paired up for, maybe just to listen to some music, and Wayne comes home from work. Billy’s instincts kick in, because father figures coming home sets off alarm bells, but Wayne is nothing like Neil. he comes in happy to see Eddie, asks about Eddie’s day, cracks jokes with him. and when Wayne sees Billy side-eyeing him, looking confused, he puts a hand on Billy’s shoulder and he asks, “You okay, son?” and there’s no sarcasm in it, no animosity, it’s a genuine question and Billy doesn’t know what to do so he makes up some excuse to leave.
of course, I love to think of all this ending with Wayne becoming the father that Billy deserved but never got to have, a man who can be a role model to him, that can smooth out his edges and teach him to quell his anger. that Billy and Eddie get close, that Billy hangs around the Munsons, is wrapped up in this warm little family. that sometimes Billy gets to Eddie’s place a little early, when he knows that Eddie isn’t home, just to talk to Wayne, to get the fatherly advice that Neil would never give. that one day, when Wayne is out drinking, Neil Hargrove stumbles into the bar and Wayne notices the bruised knuckles, thinks back on the black eye Billy had tried to hide from him and puts two and two together. that when Wayne comes home a little worse for wear and finds the boys watching MTV on the couch, when they ask him what happened, he looks Billy dead in the eye and says, “Let’s just say you’re not fighting your battles alone anymore.”
Cosmo: So, are you the little spoon or the big spoon?
Anti-Cosmo: I’m a knife you ignorant boob!
Anti-Wanda, across the room, eating a sandwich: He’s the lil’ spoon.
