Mirror, mirror on the wall...

Let’s talk a little bit about mirror magic.

I love this kind of magic and it’s throughout the lore a magical tool that can be helpful in all kind of situations.

You can for example shield yourself with it, protect your home, make energy traps out of it, practice glamour magic, shapeshift, use it as a portal, do scrying, talk to your inner twin and use it as storage of sorts.

My great grandmother used mirrors for all of her craft work.

In our house in Croatia we’ve got one mirror room. It was her room where she practiced and spend a great amount of time.

Each mirror inside of it was handmade by her or her husband and enchanted to serve as a gigantic energy storage.

The one or the other knows that I made my shield with mirrors and ice.

I also often use a mirror for my meditations.

When we did the light matrix for the New Year I looked also into a mirror and saw two people and then a black chimera.

Mirrors are definitely never a boring magical tool.

Today is the day. I will start acting like the Witch I know I am.

DAY 4. DUKE DANTALION.

Duke Dantalion is a night demon. He is a spirit of knowledge, empathy, passion, love, emotions and intellect. He is an demon of the mind.

Abilities:

* He teaches all art & sciences

* He teaches how to achieve alternative states of consciousness (OOBE, Lucid dream, higher states, past life reading, hypnosis etc.) and he can accompany you during them.

* He can help you open astral senses or knowledge of something that you want to know.

* Teaches persuasion, manipulation, lies, flirt, good speeches, relations, mind control, generally all social skills.

* He can heal/or help you with low self-esteem, negative thoughts, neuroses, depression, other coded wounds in the subconscious.

* He can suddenly put you in a state of deep peace and relaxation, and show you how to do this with your mind (He also knows a word which makes your mind calming down).

His planet is Venus and his tarot card is 9 of cups. His metal is copper and his direction is North. Water is his element. His color is green and his plant is Honeysuckle. Incense is Sandalwood.

Energy (how to recognize): His energy is very strong, focused and deep. You can feel the multidimensional planes of his being and it’s very characteristic. It is very penetrating, surrounding you from all sides and you may feel like your mind is a bit underwater. Generally, his energy is quite psychedelic and the effects are different. After, you may feel on high (like after good marijuana) have a headache or just feel weird. If you look closer, you will also feel great calm from his essence.

Tips for working: Take it slow. This spirit can make you very obsessed (u feel these nights when you were searching the entire internet to find him and you didn’t know why?) Look through your thoughts and set your clear goal - if you want to find him try invoke him or meditate, but don’t rush. Follow your goal not obsession. Dantalion will not run away from this world.

If you want to start relationship with him, prepare for patience again. At the beginning he’s formal, cold and not very emotional. He must find a place for you and adapt. (he’s a real thinker) Show the heart, he will show it too.

He doesn’t like work alone. If you’re this type and you prefer sit and wait when the spirit will end all his work, this may take a long time (except when these aren’t big things, then no problemo) Otherwise, He may start to make sure you’re still planning to pay him, and everything will be slower. (He non stop must watch what’s going on).

Get ready for a tests - he can test your intellect or your transparency in thinking.

Speak directly. He has sense of humor, don’t worry, but sometimes he takes words a bit too literally…

He’s not a demanding spirit. Just give him something from your heart or what you think is valuable.

When you did invocation/prayer and you don’t feel his presence that doesn’t mean he wasn’t there. He usually sees everything with his eye and even he may already work with you but you don’t feel it consciously. He likes working behind the curtain.

He’s a good guardian when it comes to safety with people.

Sometimes he acts weird and unexpected. People do strange things, your cat began to like him more than you, one time he wants to talk and the other he prefers to sleep, he walks on the wall, whispers strange things and this day he prefers eat pizza than classy alcohol. Can encourage you to play. It’s just his complex nature.

Dantalion is a djinn, demon, fallen angel, dark angel - he’s everything. Name as you want.

He may look nice and with good heart but he also HATES. He really gets pissed off and can destroy your life very hard when you think you shouldn’t give him what have you promised earlier (and then there’s no empathy at all …)

He’s a very loyal boy if your work was successful. He can come back to you even after a year without contact.

His attributes/symbols are - eyes/eye, faces, crown, books, the speaker, the judge, Judge’s stuff of high social rank, scepter, psychedelic waves/smoke, dandelions, brain, mask, mirror, water, clouds, the priest (absolutely not about religion but more about education and speaking to people)

It’s easy to offend him. He has big ego. Know your way and know what you want but unnecessary words can cause an awkward atmosphere. Get upset, but continue anyway with determination. Let it be rational and intelligent talk.

Magick for the Blind and Aphantasic

Aphantasia:

When an individual is unable to produce mental images.

Aphantasics conceive of ideas, stories, and other thoughts in a non- or sub-visual way.

When the average person is told to imagine a chair, they “see” a chair in their mind’s eye. Also known as visualization.

Aphantasics are incapable of doing this.

This is not a disorder, merely a variation in cognition. It also exists on a spectrum.

Blindness:

Those who have been blind from birth typically do not perceive of their world in a visual way.

There is at least one notable exception.

Because of this, most people who have been blind their whole lives are also incapable of visualizing.

Magick and meditation often reference visualizations as a starting point. Therein lies the problem.

As someone who is rather close to the aphantasic end of the cognition spectrum, this has been quite frustrating and significantly impeded my own spiritual growth.

But I believe my fellow aphantasic magick practitioners along with blind magick practitioners can still do powerful things even without the power of visualization.

Here is what I’ve learned so far:

Throw out the word visualization. Throw it out forever. If you’re like me, it’s not for you.

Substitute your own cognitive process. In my case, I have a strong sense of spatial/mechanical thought. Do what works for you.

Trust your intuition. You know what you need to do. Just relax.

Accept your gift. You can conceive of the world in a way many people can’t. Your magick is so so So important. Because you’ll catch what others might miss.

I hope this is helpful for someone out there. I know I can’t be the only borderline aphantasic witch.
