you guys remember when PETA stole people pets off their porches and euthanized them?
you guys remember how it came out that PETA kills about 90% of the animals it takes in, including healthy and adoptable puppies and kittens, stating “ We could become a no-kill shelter immediately. It means we wouldn’t do as much work”?
you guys remember when PETA advocated killing all pit bulls for the crime of being pit bulls?
you guys remember when PETA handed out these comics to children when there were no adults looking?
you guys remember when they made a porn site and then filled it with videos of animal abuse, and (also in that link) claimed cats should be vegetarian?
you guys remember when PETA lied about sheep shearing, got caught, and defended the lie as true even after they admitted the sheep in their picture wasn’t even real?
you guys remember when they tried to excuse their horrifying ways by claiming that the person who exposed them was manipulating the facts by taking them and putting them in the wrong context?
Because I remember. I remember everything.
And I’m gonna make sure everyone else remembers too.
hmm don’t know how to address this but i looked it up and apparently Richard Phillips, the 72-year-old black man recently released from prison after serving 45 years for murder he didn’t commit, is being forced to sell his art, rather than willingly selling it, since the justice system is refusing to pay him anything. there’s a post going around saying he’s showcasing his art and we should support him by purchasing it, but i think it’s an important distinction that he doesn’t want to part from the art that he made in prison. parting permanently from art you’ve made can be difficult, and considering the emotional value of the art he made in order to cope with his situation, it’s cruel to take it away from him rather than to just donate money. also there’s like this weird fetishization of his “prison art” in the media that is frankly disgusting, like ogling his pain and suffering and making it into some sort of spectacle. i scoured twitter for a donation page but i couldn’t find anything yet

But I want you to know you could know me.
If you change your mind.
If you change your mind.
If you change your mind.
If you change your mind.
My little brother was terrified when he heard of this i had to explain that its something stupid and can't actually hurt you just like the blue wahle challenge people were talking about a few years ago its just about scarring kids.
I just heard of this from my brother, whose children are terrified of it. It’s so grotesque.
So essentially, this “Momo Challenge” made its way onto YouTube Kids videos (much like the self harm one you might’ve seen going around). In the same manner, it comes up about halfway through a video, when parents are more than likely not paying attention, and tells the kid they can’t tell anyone about the challenges or their friends/family/themselves will be killed or seriously hurt. Then it gets into the challenges.
They start out simple. Break a toy, make a mess of your room, etc. But then they gwt more and more disturbing. Things like self harm and suicide make their way into the challenges, once the kids have become invested.
And I need to stress this: they aren’t allowed to mention this to anyone under threat of harm or death to the people they love.
My niece burst into tears when my brother asked. My nephew, who’s 13, was scared out of his mind and begged my brother to drop it, because he can’t talk about it.
My brother is cutting his kids off from YouTube, and if you have children, I strongly suggest you do the same. YouTube Kids is no longer safe. Period.
Even if you don’t have kids, please, by god, reblog and share. People are ending their lives. They’re scared senseless. YouTube needs to own up and do something, and until then we need to protect the children.
I’ve been holding on to this for a while. In… September? I was having a Really Bad Time. So I ended up making this comic to sort of… sort through some stuff. It really helped.
I hope maybe it can resonate with other people, too.
Reblogs would be very appreciated, so more people can see it <3
Controversial opinion, but ur allowed to like things that suck
Like, sometimes there are just shows or books that are so goddamn awful for any number of reasons… But ya still like ‘em somehow, and that’s fine
It’s not required to write a 20+ page essay defending why you enjoy something shitty, you can just… Enjoy shitty things
Not all content is made equally and you’re allowed to like things that are far from perfect
Like, just, “This show sucks, but I like it anyway” is a totally valid response
yall: this celebrity did a bad thing
me: it be like that sometimes
