To get rid of a bad habit:
Best performed under waning moon 🌒. Take a piece of paper and write down your name at the top. Write down a list of things you WILL NOT do. For example if you're trying to quit smoking, "I will not smoke when I'm stressed. I will not use smoking as a release from my emotions. I will not smoke than one pack a month..." Take the paper and fold it as many times as you want, leaving a little bit of paper at the top. This will act as a flap of an envelope. Burn a candle🕯️ and tilt it so that it's wax drops on the opening and seals the envelope. Take this envelope out everyday and keep sealing it with a little bit of wax everyday until the New moon.
It is important to start with "I will not" because getting rid of things is best performed during a waning moon.
silly witch tip #3
this one *can* be targeted at our lovely neurodivergent witches!
correct me if im wrong! :)
On any given night…
just some random interesting witchy facts of the week
New Age Chakra. It totally ignores the actual history of Chakra and talks about it in ways that make little to no sense. It's not actually Chakra.
Light & Love rhetoric. Not everything is good and happy and nice. It is toxic positivity and it makes me so uncomfortable. It is also very harmful to people in general.
New Age Manifestation. It promises things that cannot happen and promotes this idea that when bad things happen you just don't try hard enough to manifest change and you need to try harder. It also doesn't tell you that you actually need to act on whatever you're manifesting.
Energy Healing. Pretends it can heal mental illness, physical illness, chronic illness, disabilities, and disorders. It cannot and never will be able to.
Crystal Healing. Pretends it can heal mental illness, physical illness, chronic illness, disabilities, and disorders. It cannot and never will be able to.
Spiritual Awakening. Pretends that your mental illness is actually just your psychic powers coming into being. It's not and this kind of rhetoric enables psychosis, delusions, and is extremely dangerous for mentally ill people. Do not romanticize us and pretend we have super powers. We don't.
Indigo Children. This straight up just romanticizes Autism, ADHD, and neurodivergency. It also dehumanizes people who are neurodivergent by making them seem like alien star children. Also is a way to ignore neurodivergency and prevent neurodivergent kids from receiving help.
Essential Oils. Pretends it can heal mental illness, physical illness, chronic illness, disabilities, and disorders. It cannot and never will be able to. These are only good for making rooms smell nice.
With spooky season coming upon us… let me tell you about one scary thing: Shadow work
There’s nothing more scary than facing yourself, the parts you don’t like about you, the ugly parts you want to keep hidden. The parts you want to deny about yourself. Dare I say lie about yourself.
But shadow work is that necessary pain you need. You need to check yourself, work through your issues, whether that is trauma a reality check or something else. It overall should make you a better person or at the very least help you move on your way to becoming the best you you can be. And it’s hard to admit things. Humbling yourself is a bitch. Admitting things about yourself is a bitch and it all hurts. But with that comes acceptance and change. Addressing an issue is the first step to overcoming said problem. You have to admit you’re addicted to something before kicking it. You have to acknowledge you’re a quitter because you’re either afraid of failure, success or…both at the same time. And I’m just naming things off the top of my head.
When I first started looking into shadow work, I first thought it was more like Persona series. You gotta fight yourself and defeat yourself like the inverted version of yourself. But a lot of it isn’t about who wins and who loses. It’s all about you and what can be your best self. You don’t do shadow work to eliminate the darkness, you accept it and work with it. It reminds you of your mistakes, your shortcomings, your flaws. But most importantly, it allows you to not be perfect and I think that’s what we need the most. Like persona, your dark selves, the parts you hate, want to deny, ignore, can destroy you just as much as it can help you. It can easily become your armor, your weaponry, because it is you, but those dark parts of you don’t have to rule you.
in my eyes, any type of self care is witchcraft. taking a shower? a literal and metaphorical cleansing ritual. making food? kitchen witchcraft, obviously. drawing? it’s like a really complex sigil thats purpose is to calm you down and clear your mind. making tea? potions. lying in bed all day binging your favourite show on netflix? a day of recharging your soul. don’t ever feel guilty for not doing complex spells all the time. you’re a witch - everything you do is inherently witchy.

I used to think communication was the key until I realized comprehension is. You can communicate all you want with someone but if they don’t understand you, its silent chaos.
