do u ever think about them
Hello! Just passing by and asking your opinion on Robin 2021! You don't have to answer but I was wondering your thoughts on the run was since it finished back in 2022 and I saw your post back in 2021 where you just dropped the series.
If you did answer a question similar to mine then you can just post the link. I thought the idea of the story was cool but it didn't work out much and Damian was somewhat OOC in that story :/ thanks for answering if you do <3!
Hi! Eh...Robin 2021 is...okay. Like Williamson is clearly not going in the direction of the previous story (baby Hitler Damian) but it didn't truly do anything I cared about either. Williamson is just not the writer for truly interesting concepts and he's turning even unusual characters like Damian into fairly generic ones. I get that this lead to new people starting to like Damian, but as someone who liked Damian because he wasn't generic/typically relateable I lost interest pretty quickly and haven't regained it since.
There is a reason why I haven't said much for weeks. I kind of lost interest and don't see anything on the horizon that could pull me back in. If people like to see "relatable" teenage Damian that's their right, good for them, but I don't really care anymore.
Love triangle getting annoying? Just kill both of the love interests
i think im obsessed with helia and riven my boys are just so šššš do you have more headcanons about them ššš
Theyāre both quiet people, so they enjoy quality time with each other in peace (Ex: Hugging each other on the couch while watching something, only talking to each other a few times.
Riven: *gets mad*/ Helia: Are you done with your temper tantrum yet?/ Riven: No >:( / *they both try to work out their emotion with each other*
Helia just knows random stuff about space ships and wind riders after being with Riven for a while and assisting him in fixing some vehicles.
āWow! Howād you know that was the reason why the Wind Rider wasnāt working?ā āOh justā¦something I knew.ā *flashback to Riven explaining a whole essay about how wind riders work to Helia*
Related with previous statement, they share moments where Helia does a minor mistake and Riven gets mad over it. Like if Helia isnāt holding the flashlight at the right angle while Riven is fixing something in the dark, he gets mad ššš
Theyāre the pretty couple who seem bad ass on the outside but are actually a decent couple who understand and treat each other as human beings.
Somewhat related but I think it was Winx Comic #22 or #23 where Riven assumes that Helia only got punished after a mission failed was because if Saladin didnāt put that punishment onto Helia, people would think that he was Saladinās favorite out of all the Red Fountain students and that Saladin plays favorites. Imagine after dating Helia for a while, Riven gets to know Saladin more and actually gets a parental figure in his life.
Now, Iām not saying romantic relationships are inferior, or that theyāre useless, or that you being in one or that you shipping some characters romantically is Bad or something off the walls like that. What Iām saying is that two people (or characters, since weāre talking shipping here) can be just as devoted to each other, love each other just as deeply, mean just as much to each other while being in a platonic relationship. The end point of caring about someone doesnāt have to be romance.
Friendship isnāt a stepping stone between strangers and romantic partners, itās a different path. And you can follow that path as deep into the wood as a romantic one if you want, and neither is inferior to the other, they just have different views.
Bart Allen is a character that is so often badly characterized that most people out there have no idea what heās like. Heās constantly characterized as essentially a 7-year-old, and was even believed by some fans to be only 10-years-old to 12-years-old when his solo started. This is not the case, as while he arrived as a 12-year-old at the very beginning of his first appearance, his struggle was that he aged rapidly, meaning that by the end of that fiasco, his age settled at the age of 15-years-old.
This isnāt even close to the only misconception about MisterĀ Bartholomew Henry Allen the second. As due to later writers consistently infantilizing this once magnificent representation of a teenager with ADHD, that had fun dynamics as a fish out of water, his original personality is something that many Bart Allen fans wish would come back from the war once again. It was what allowed Bart to be an initially popular character, that had a decently lasting solo series, that was eventually slowly killed by bad characterization and infantilization.
Heck, itās hard to begin to know where to start since thereās so many misconceptions about what was intended by his creator. Iām going to do my best, though, as I am one of those many that wish for Bartās original characterization to come back. Heās not a hyper little boy as people think (Again, he was never 10-years-old. They just didnāt care to draw him properly when he returned. And his return panel is so widely shared these days). Heās actually the most teenagery teenager thatās ever existed.
So Iām going to start with the first issue of his solo series and go from there. Iām using the first ten issues of his solo as my line of research, since by then his characterization is readily fleshed out, and you can understand a lot of his true depth.
Also, this is going to be super long, but if you want to know Bartās character like a pro-Bart-Allen-Er (?) this is the post for you.
