“I love that word. Forever. I love that forever doesn’t exist, but we have a word for it anyway, and use it all the time. It’s beautiful and doomed.”
— Viv Albertine
In this house we love and stan one Michael Bakari Jordan. Before you panic when you see this, no Mr. Jordan has not been revealed as problematic or for lack of a better word deserving of anything resembling cancellation. What we need to do collectively as a roleplay community is step outside of our comfort zone when creating black male characters and look at face claims that aren’t Michael B. Jordan. I say we, because even I’m guilty. Currently, Michael B. Jordan is 33 years old. The actors listed below fall between 26 and 37 years old. Resources may vary with some suggested fcs.

✧✧✧ ( PREVIEW. ) ( CODE. )
a super simple theme with one 80x80 icon, one spare link and a description. the posts size will vary depending on the size of your screen — anywhere between 300 and 500px ( and you can change the max/min width if you want to be able to have larger/smaller posts )
please don’t remove the credit ! it helps other people to know where your theme came from, which helps me and them. it’s really frustrating to see a nice theme but not be able to find the credit link to know who created it.
don’t redistribute it, edited or unedited ! this breaks copyright laws & my trust !
you’re welcome to edit it for personal use, but i will not supply you with support if you break it in the process.
don’t use it as a base code
please give this post a reblog if you like/use this theme !
listen. benji and victor don’t have chemistry & season 2 proved that. benji’s storyline was sort of random? he never apologized to victor or isabel about how he handled that argument? he danced at one game and i’m supposed to praise him for being a great boyfriend?
“we spent a whole season with victor & benji”…..so? that’s like saying “well that’s how it was, so it should just stay the same!!!” this is damaging rhetoric. time means nothing. i fall in love with people every other day. just because you’ve spent a lot of time with someone doesn’t mean you know anything about them. i don’t feel any closer to benji than i did in the first season.
also idk i just can’t ever truly relate to the white, masc, cis gay, (upper) middle class character w/ his pretty tame home life - it’s boring and i’m sure that’s why i prefer rahim, who feels more realistic as a character. (not discrediting benji’s story - it was important to discuss, but it felt out of place). don’t even get me STARTED on the “what does me being white have to do with it?”
victor says in ep 9 [referring to his parents, but the sentiment remains the same]: “maybe that’s part of the problem; what are the odds the first person you date is the person you end up with?”
from that same conversation, rahim echoes the phrase “felt like magic” to victor in the finale when he’s speaking about their relationship.
but either way, i like this (tired) trope of a love triangle. give me all of the cheesy, dumb tropes….but make them gay. we need them, in moderation.
