MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR (1967)
Omg omg omggg i caannât đ
This song is the most Beatles song Iâve ever heard and itâs such a wonderful homage and testament to their Time defying genius, innovation and bond, from Then until Now đ„Č
Johnâs timeless vocals :(
Ringoâs iconic â1, 2, 3, 4â :(
Georgeâs âSomethingâ and âMy Sweet Lordâ guitar solos :(
The âIf I Fellâ drumming :(
The âAcross the Universeâ and âThe Endâ harmonies :(
The âMartha my Dearâ piano :(
The âWalrusâ and âSheâs Leaving Homeâ orchestra swell and staccato string that reminds us that George Martin really was the indispensable fifth Beatle :(
The tambourine from the early songs :(
The psychedelic eastern inspired strings :(
Paul in the back, harmonizing with John, so recognizable on the Love You đ„Č (because thatâs the simplest and purest representation on their relationship and legacy, and really thatâs so much of what this song is about đ)
So many different eras and musical pioneering moments, so much individual creativity and collaboration and love that makes the Beatles absolutely magical, captured in one song đ„Č how is this allowed đ

Culver City, CA (February 20th, 2024)Â -- Today, Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), Sam Mendes, and Neal Street Productions announced a groundbreaking creative endeavor to tell the story of The Beatles with four distinct theatrical feature films. The project marks the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles â Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison â have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film.
As conceived by Mendes, who will direct, the four theatrical feature films â one from each band memberâs point-of-view â will intersect to tell the astonishing story of the greatest band in history.

SPE will finance and distribute worldwide with full theatrical windows in 2027. The dating cadence of the films, the details of which will be shared closer to release, will be innovative and groundbreaking.Â
Mendes will direct all four films and produce alongside his Neal Street Productions partner Pippa Harris and Neal Streetâs Julie Pastor. Jeff Jones will executive produce for Apple Corps Ltd.
âIâm honoured to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,â said Sam Mendes.
âWe intend this to be a uniquely thrilling, and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives which tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time,â said Pippa Harris. âTo have The Beatlesâ and Apple Corpsâ blessing to do this is an immense privilege. From our first meeting with Tom Rothman and Elizabeth Gabler, it was clear that they shared both our passion and ambition for this project, and we canât think of a more perfect home than Sony Pictures.â
âApple Corps is delighted to collaborate with Sam, Pippa and Julie to explore each Beatleâs unique story and to bring them together in a suitably captivating and innovative way,â said Apple Corps Ltd. CEO Jeff Jones. âSony Picturesâ enthusiastic support, championing the projectâs scope and creative vision from the start, has been invaluable for all of us.âÂ
âI know I speak for our CEO Tony Vinciquerra, who was instrumental in making this happen, and every Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group colleague around the world when I say: âyeah, yeah, yeah!ââ said Tom Rothman, Chairman and CEO of Sony Picturesâ Motion Picture Group. âTheatrical movie events today must be culturally seismic. Samâs daring, large-scale idea is that and then some. Pairing his premiere filmmaking team, with the music and the stories of four young men who changed the world, will rock audiences all over the globe. We are deeply grateful to all parties and look forward ourselves to breaking some rules with Samâs uniquely artistic vision.â

I've been listening to this song constantly over the last month and I love it so so SO much but............ the official album cover is AWFUL!!
so I thought I'd try my hand at redesigning it! my idea was to make it look like an unwound cassette tape!
Robbed of the opportunity to participate in a true final collaboration with his greatest muse, McCartney instead elevates this suggestion of a song into a realized record, one where its elegant, softly psychedelic flow lets Lennonâs longing linger in the subconscious. That regret is articulated clearly in a chorus of âNow and then, I miss you / Now and then, I want you to be there for me / Always to return to me,â words that sharpen Johnâs original intention with its second newly written clause. Itâs a passage where Lennonâs yearning for McCartney intertwines with Paulâs mourning for John, a shared grieving for the partnership that defined both their lives. In that sense, âNow and Thenâ does provide something of a fitting conclusion to the Beatlesâ recorded career â not so much a summation but as a coda that conveys a sense of what the band both achieved and lost.
Excuse me while I go cry forever at this paragraph
