Note: First fic! I'm new to writing so I hope this is good!

It was Friday night and the team was gathered in Paige’s apartment for some team bonding. Somebody had given KK control of the music, Jana was in the kitchen playing bartender for everyone, and you had already had enough alcohol to feel loose and warm.

“Let’s play truth or dare!” KK shrieked. You giggled and dropped down onto the couch next to Paige. She looked good. She wore basketball shorts low on her hips, a cropped tank top showing off her abs, and her hair was slicked back into that low bun that drove you crazy. Your eyes dragged up her body as you settled further into your spot on the sofa. You knew you should be a little more discreet, but the drinks in your system had shifted your priorities.

“Whatcha lookin’ at ma?” Your face flushed with warmth.

“Nothing. I wasn’t looking,” you mumbled quickly, eyes catching on Paige’s smirk. The two of you had been dancing around each other for weeks. Paige would flirt with you, call you ma and baby and sweetheart, you would purposely sit a little closer to her than you had to, let your hands linger on her back a little too long during practice, and then you would both pretend the tension between you didn’t exist.

“If you say so,” Paige murmured. Her legs were stretched out, knees wider than was decent, and you had to force yourself to look away, pulling your attention back to KK, who was already handing out a ridiculous dare to poor, unsuspecting Morgan. You tried your best to pay attention, but suddenly there was the warmth of an arm around your shoulders. You snuck a glance at Paige. She appeared to be locked in on the game being played, but you knew better. The slight smirk on her face as her fingers dragged over your shoulder gave her away.

Half of you knew it would be better to pull away, go get another drink, laugh it off, do anything that would give you an excuse to get out of it. The other half was practically purring in contentment. The second half won easily.

You shifted back into Paige’s embrace, tilting your head to look at her. She glanced at you.

“Comfy?” She asked, fingers tracing shapes over your exposed skin. You nodded, moving your body further into her. She hadn’t touched you this freely before, without an excuse or made-up reason. It was intoxicating. Now you were pressed into Paige’s side, legs curled up beneath yourself, one arm slunk behind Paige’s back, your shoulders nestled snugly under her arm. Paige kept tracing those delicious shapes over your skin with one hand, the other sliding over to rest on your knees.

“Yo, Paige, are you gonna play the game or-” Kk stopped abruptly as she took in the sight of the two of you. Your face flushed as you started to extricate yourself from Paige’s embrace, but she tightened her grip on you, preventing your escape.

“Skip me. I’ll just watch,” Paige told KK. You could feel too many pairs of eyes on you, the entire team noticing how close you and Paige were sitting. Neither of you had exactly been subtle with your flirting the past few weeks, but this was different. Softer. It felt private.

“Sure, yeah. Of course. You both skipping your turn?”

“Yeah. Skip us,” Paige answered for you. You shifted back into her in thanks. Everyone’s attention quickly moved back to the game as KK asked Azzi about her worst kiss, laughter breaking out as she described it.

“You okay, ma?” Paige whispered into your ear.

“Yeah. Didn’t like them all looking,” you whispered back. Paige’s fingers spread out on your knees and you relaxed into her.

“Hey, we’re all good. I gotchu baby.” You knew she did. It’s not that you wanted to hide anything from the team, it was just new and you didn't want to be judged.

“I know. Thank you.” You tilted your head so you could really look at Paige. Her eyes glinted as she looked at you and the expression on her face was so devastatingly soft you didn’t even know what to say. Paige’s hand came up to your face, thumb dragging down your bottom lip teasingly. You couldn’t look away, eyes darting from her lips to her eyes and back.

“Look so pretty for me, baby,” Paige murmured. You blushed, nestling your head into Paige’s neck. If you kept looking at her, you were going to do something that shouldn’t be done in a room full of your teammates. But God did you want to kiss her. Paige chuckled, hand returning to its spot on your shoulder and resuming drawing circles on your skin.

You could feel Paige’s eyes on your body as she stroked your skin, but you closed your eyes and sunk into the feeling. You didn’t want to know if your teammates were sneaking glances at you. They could just wonder what was going on. You weren’t about to worry about giving them any answers tonight. The sparks where Paige’s skin met yours deserved all of your attention.

She was whispering things into your ear, you knew she was, but between being drunk off her touch and more than a little tipsy from the alcohol, you had no idea what any of the words were. Paige’s hand that was on your knee had migrated to your thigh, brushing up and down the soft skin, drifting just a little higher than it maybe should have. You didn’t care.

“Feels good,” you mumbled into Paige’s neck. Usually, Paige would have made some sassy, overconfident remark, but she just pulled you closer, hands still dragging back and forth. The sounds of your teammates yelling and laughing faded as you inhaled deeply, letting yourself sink into Paige. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you knew getting out of this position was going to be awkward, that your teammates would tease you and Paige about this for weeks, but you let that fade away into nothing. Your usually racing mind was blanketed in the sensations of Paige’s touch, her perfume, and the words she was still murmuring to you softly.

You must have drifted off at some point, even with the noise of the room, because when you woke up it was just you and Paige in the living room. You felt your face warm as you looked up at her to find her eyes already focused on your face.

“Hi baby,” she whispered. You were in uncharted territory here, but you just let your head fall back against her neck.

“Hi,” you sighed happily. Paige laughed.

“Everybody else left a little bit ago but you were out cold and you looked so comfy. You can go now if you want though,” Paige said softly.

“If I want?”

“Or you can stay. Just to sleep, I swear.” If you weren’t so attuned to Paige’s expressions you never would have noticed, but there was just a hint of nervousness on her face. You softened.

“Let’s go to sleep, Paige,” you said. Her face broke out in a grin. She scooped you up in her arms bridal style, rising off the couch to carry you to her bedroom. You giggled as she placed you carefully on her bed, climbing in after you. Her arms came around you, pulling you back into her body. You let your body relax, sighing out as you snuggled back into her embrace.

“Goodnight, Paige,” you whispered. Paige just pressed a kiss to the back of your neck in response. It was the last thing you felt before you were deep in the best sleep of your life.
