I genuinely think AM is so well written (I’m sure lots of people agree), like the way his motives are expressed and showed, ESPECIALLY in the radio drama, are great : , )

Like the fact he was a war A.I and became sentient, he only knows war and torture. Even if he’s highly intelligent he was built FOR torture which is the only thing he can actually do. WHICHHH brings in the envy he feels, sure he’s sentience and CAN feel emotions to some extent, he can’t feel and do what humans can. Like it said in the book, he can’t wonder, he can’t wander. Which is further proved in the radio drama when he goes off on how he can’t feel or make love. Not only are the five survivors in hell, but so is AM. He’s aware he can’t do anything beyond what he was given.
