Meaning / Symbolism of the Expressions in the Photographs of the Characters’ Dorm Room Doors in the Circus: TADC Theory / Analysis by Midnight Moon ( @oh-so-adhdish )

So I made another theory / analysis post about the symbolism of the arrangement of the characters’ rooms (I believe it’s actually in my top 5 most noted original posts but I’m not 100% sure). I did briefly say one comment in there about the expressions of the characters’ faces in their photographs, but I want to make that aspect the primary focus on this updated version of my analyzing on the dorm rooms in the circus.

1. Ragatha & Zooble both have the same calm / relaxed expression in their photographs while Jax & Gangle have the same smiley / excited expression in their photographs.

2. Ragatha & Jax’s rooms are next door to each other while Zooble & Gangle’s rooms are next door to each other.

I already mentioned the two points above in my previous post about the hallway of the circus, but what I am about to say below is something that I just suddenly realized last night:

1. Ragatha is to Jax the same thing that Zooble is to Gangle.

2. Jax is to Ragatha the same thing that Gangle is to Zooble.

3. This does not canonize Abstragedy or Bunnydoll; it simply states that whatever Gangle & Zooble are to each other is more similar than it seems to whatever Jax & Ragatha are to each other; regardless of whether this is something good, bad, or neutral for one or both characters involved in each pair.

4. One final thing to consider: Based on the diagram in the image above, this also means that Pomni is to Ragatha & Jax the same thing that KAUFMO was to Zooble & Gangle…

I could go on and on for a thesis-length essay further analyzing everything I’ve already mentioned in the last four points above, but I’m not going to to save both my own time and your time :)

That one convo between Petey and Lil Petey when Lil Petey says “maybe I am like you, but the parts you don’t like” is so fucking Tiny Jax au coded yall don’t even KNOW what I’m brainstorming rn

I wonder what Jax and Ragatha think when they see the other. After all, one expresses so freely the emotions the other tries so desperately to repress, making it harder to push down.

Ragatha represses her “mean” emotions (anger, annoyance, apathy, etc) in order to be a perfect friend to the others and Jax represses his “cringe” emotions (grief, compassion, wanting to be accepted, etc) so he can do whatever he wants. This makes it hard for them to get along, but each one has something the other lacks, so

Does Ragatha envy how Jax gets stuff done without worrying about how someone else would feel? Does Jax envy the connection Ragatha has with everyone?

That may be why they bicker so much. They’re fighting to keep down the emotions they’ve repressed for so long, but this ironically brings them more to the surface.

Their argument shows this so well. Ragatha puts her anger at what Jax did to Gangle over Gangle herself (leaving her on the floor w/ mask broken), and Jax doesn’t want her to think that he broke it on purpose, or that he’s a bad guy (he isn’t supposed to care about ppls feelings remember?).

Another example is how Ragatha starts worrying abt Pomni only for Jax to go “Poor POMNI? How about poor US????”, and Ragatha doesn’t answer. When Ragatha brings up Kaufmo’s funeral, it makes Jax’s mask break for a split second.

It’s like being around the other brings out what they think is the worst part of themselves.

This is also why they share eps 5 and 6. They are two sides of the same coin, so its hard to bring up one without the other.

I’m excited to see where Gooseworx and Glitch takes them next.
