This is the first type of nesting most Omegas experience. It usually starts at around 10-12 years old, when they start being less dependent on their parent's nest for comfort.
The structure of this nest is more personal, and usually shares very similar characteristics to their guardian's nest. For example, if their parents nest had many pillows, their nest will have many pillows as well. Nesting is instinctual, but there's some behaviors that are learned for its construction.
The most common items are pillows, comforters, and scented clothes from a loved one. In some cultures, a plushie is gifted to a child for their first nest, and they will use it all throughout their lives.
Usually comfort nesting is done in pajamas, or any sort of casual comfortable clothing. Though some Omegas have designated nesting clothing which has been scented for maximum comfort.
Around this time, an Omega might feel feverish and sensitive, both physically and emotionally. Due to this most clothing can be uncomfortable and easily overheat the Omega, there's specialized robes for heats, which are incredibly soft and easy to take off for both temperature regulation and easier access.
However, it's more common for Omegas to forgo clothing altogether, as the feeling of soft fluffy blanket all throughout their bodies is quite comforting.
These are usually built in the Omega's beds, rather than a designated nesting area.
Pregnant Omegas are more likely to start getting nesting instincts at 6-8 weeks pregnant, and then again in the last trimester. The nest will usually last the entire pregnancy, though during most of the 2nd and first half of the 3rd trimester, it will be cleaned up and organized rather than used for actual nesting.
Many Omegas choose to give birth in their nests, as they feel more safe there rather than a hospital setting. Though most hospitals accept the nest getting set up there, this is why collapsible nests are a common baby shower gift.
it's structure varies a lot from other nests, as it accommodates their babies' stuff for scenting, and an area they can give birth without focusing too much on cleaning later.
Most Omegas nest when they're nervous or stressed, and they need a place to retreat and sometimes hide. They differ from comfort nests by their structures, and because comfort nests can arise from any type of mood. Nesting recreatively is more common and not a warning sign, unlike stress nests.
These nests are usually made in corners of rooms, or places that can be walled off, and they usually get very little light. They are notable for having less non-mate scented items than a usual nest.
Nesting behaviors vary from Omega to Omega, remember that every nest is different and each have their own unique characteristics. That is the wonderful part of nesting!
I want whatever this is please
you are very cute got me fantasizing about being yours <3 -💒
Oh? Why fantasy, when we can make this a reality. Thank you though, my dear. I appreciate the compliment, you definitely seem like the cute one here though.
I also see you have sent me another anon message, so allow me to go read that one as well, sweetheart.
This along side being able to get sick easier
"What’s one thing you wish people understood more about epilepsy? Is it something you find yourself explaining over and over again, or something you don’t even attempt to explain because you know people won’t understand anyway, or just a common myth/disinformation/misunderstanding?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One thing I wish people understood more about epilepsy is the other things that come with it.
Epilepsy is more than just seizures, and even when the seizures are well controlled, the epilepsy isn't 'gone'. It's fatigue and brain fog and memory issues. It's the side effects of anti-epileptic drugs making those things worse. The struggle to attain seizure freedom coming at the expense of a clear mind and full energy.
I don't have as much energy as other people my age. And when I try to push through the exhaustion when I reach my limit, I'm pushing my self closer to a seizure. I wish people understood that.
FUCKING YES SKSBKWBDJ FIBALLY SOMEONE GETS IT
Okay, do any other otherkin do this? Like instead of being able to wag your tail you wag your foot? If that makes sense... :']
i know we're all sick of self-care being a marketing tactic now, but i don't think a lot of us have any other concept of self-care beyond what companies have tried to sell us, so i thought i'd share my favorite self-care hand out
brought to you by how mad i just got at a Target ad
This is actually how our lamb in headspace speaks to us. He just baas and we're like "Yeah bro ur so right we should study"
headcanon that lamb actually just talks in baas except for when the crown speaks through them. and goat just understands them perfectly anyways
Hello friends who nest!
Whether you're kin, a regressor, or miscecanis, you might be affected by what I call the nesting season, and want to nest all the time! 🪹
So I decided to make a little post about stuff I like in my nest to maybe give some of you ideas or just some comfiness reading it, because nesting is taking up like 80% of my brain right now- 💚
My essentials are: 🪹 Blankets (the fluffier the better) 🪹 Plenty of pillows 🪹 A tons of plushies 🪹 Orange essential oil on the stuffs 🪹 A cedar or orange candle/incense 🪹 A cosy drink (like coffee with some cinnamon) 🪹 A cosy show or podcast 🪹 Some snacks! (nuts for my crow brain, sweet things for the omega cravings, and sometimes some other stuff personally)
I also like to kidnap my partner in it, but that's not always possible 🥺😞 Please feel free to add on with your nesting essentials! ☕️
Happy nesting friends! 💚🪹
Does anyone else feel genuinely stressed by a routine? Like I wake up, go to work, and come home, everyday. It makes me so genuinely stressed bc I feel like my life is gonna be like this forever.
