The idea has been toyed with and now it has arrived, I am hosting SSOblr's first (and hopefully annual) awards show!

The awards are vast and the blogs to be nominated are many, and I need your help narrowing down who should go in what category by nominating others, or yourself, to win. You're allowed to nominate several people to the same category, and if you don't know who to nominate for certain categories you are naturally allowed to skip them

Please note that this is not the official vote. This is the nominations to different categories. The voting will take place over a 2-day period starting October 1st.

Man though you know what makes me sorta sad is when nerdy, “quiet” kids latch on to me during camp and they just talk and talk and talk about a thing they’re into (Skyrim, Pokemon, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, dinosaurs, whatever). And I see the kids just light up when they say something and I can chime in with an ‘oh hey, are you talking about [x]? I love that thing! Tell me more about it.’

Like, their parents will warn me ‘so-and-so is pretty quiet and hard to engage’ but no, man, just listen, your kid is so smart and so into This Thing, they’ll engage like fuck and talk your damn ear off it you let them. Frame it in their damn terms. Or! Just! Listen to them about their Thing! And they will engage with the rest of the material! Because they know you care about them! Amazing!!!

Jankee Candle has anyone made the joke yet? Time to make the joke if no one else has. 

Please I want to see all the Jankee Candle Jorvik scents of badly (or not so badly) edited candles. I want to see Horse Lasagna. I want to see Glue Man. I want to see Biting People (for REAL Horsegirls only!). There HAS to be some Yankee Candle template out there for fake Yankee Candle scents on the internet it has to exist

Not hard at all lmao, though community input might be necessary because obviously not everyone is going to be aware of everything. Here’s what I got off the top of my head, maybe if people pitch in we can make a more detailed post!

-problematic redesign choices, this one could be split into several subcategories like Chiyo, Sabine, Holdsworth,,,

-firing freelance workers, leading to the discontinuation of comics, books and music.

-the mistfall series (maybe not the worst idea in theory, but I can’t imagine it brought in more business and money than it cost)

-the fucking candle

-relating to the candle, clearly wanting to sell their players things but releasing absolutely 0 merch

-horse girl is a slur

-back when it happened, collabing with jojo siwa was a big controversy because people didn’t think she fit the game

-AI art

-They’ve been reported to Konsumentvert for breaking laws regarding advertisements toward kids.

-Maybe a personal gripe of mine but not being more active during women’s day for a company that advertises itself as by women for girls. I think one time they posted “every day is women’s day on jorvik” on Instagram and that was. Questionable.
