consent laws for children don’t exist as something that should be abolished bc they’re keeping ‘happy relationships’ from forming, like a lot of MAPS seem to think.

they exist because children lack the ability to understand a relationship and sex with someone much older than them, and the amount of power the adult holds over them is immense. a 12 year old may THINK they’re in a happy relationship dating a 21 year old, but it WILL go sour. as that 12 year old ages, the manipulation and weakness and disgust will start to sink in as they realize they had no power and were entirely too young to be able to consent to what was happening, and bam. traumatized.

a child can not be in a romantic relationship with an adult. relationships need to be balanced dynamic wise and everyone needs to be able to understand each other and support each other. a child can’t do that. and the emotional strain on them will cause lasting damage.

age laws exist because most of the time, young teens don’t KNOW when they’re being manipulated and used and they don’t realize how much it’s fucked them up until they’re older and struggling to stay stable.

it doesn’t MATTER if a child ‘consents’ to something in a relationshi, its so deeply unbalanced and biologically wrong that it will fuck them up mentally no matter how it’s handled. children DO NOT understand adults and adult relationships and cannot exist in one in a healthy manner. they’re meant to construct relationships with peers. not adults.

it’s the adults responsibility to understand that a child is a CHILD and forming a romantic/sexual relationship with them will interrupt their growth and cause irreversible damage in their developing brains because it’s not supposed to work like that even on a biological and psychological level.

a child cannot consent. and your inability to realize that consent laws exist to protect them from people like you who would take advantage of them the first change you get makes you a disgusting danger.

Okay I know that’s not a lot compared to people who have like 20k+ but this is somewhere I never imagined I’d get to??? So to celebrate and thank you guys for sticking with me, I’m finally doing a milestone giveaway!

//Hello everyone! So this blog has officially reached AND passed the 500 follower mark! Now I know I say this every milestone, but that’s super amazing and I never thought that this blog would have so many people flock to its madness.

Memetic effects aside,  I’ve decided that with the special 500 follower milestone, I’d do something a little special for it! So I am doing a FREE ART GIVEAWAY to one lucky peep! You will get a free flat colored full body of your character of choice whether it be an OC, a sona, or even your favorite SCP *though since this is an SCP-related blog, I’ll probably keep non-OC related fandom characters to just SCP*

And you can request your character of choice WITH SCP 035 if you so wish, though that’s the only extra character I’ll throw in since this IS his blog and he’s just like that.
