So I’m writing an alternate AU for halo where the covenant is swapped with humanity and the infinity is the flagship of the evil UNSC but I’m actually struggling of writing lasky as I villain but I have the cover art done if you want to see it. (It isn’t good but I tried.)

I would LOVE to see the art, and even read some of what you have (and give feedback if U would like)!

As far as writing Lasky as a villain, I revlogged this awhile back and it may prove useful. A villain does not have to be inherently, obviously, overtly evil. The Covenant weren't even that. They were 1: misguided due to misinterpretations of Forerunner text and 2: once the text was properly translated, the Prophet of Asspocketry fried the AI (Mendicant Bias, or a remnant thereof, I think?) that translated it and just didn't tell the rest of the Covenant. So the UNSC would be the opposite side of the same coin.

Much as I'm not fond of Lasky as a villain (he is such a sof sweet mans I just cant 😭), he'd actually be fairly easy to write as one.

Take a look at Thel, or Rtas. Both high-ranking loyal soldiers who were 100% taken in by the Prophet's ideology (like god knows how many generations before them) right up till the bitter end. If you notice, Thel still clings to that ideology even after Tartarus is like "Yeah bruh, ur fucked". It took meeting up with Rtas and learning that the Jiralhanae are actively exterminating their people for him to realize they'd all been lied to. Lasky would likely be much the same; he's shown to have a strong moral compass and drive to do what's right and he's obviously shocked and mortified when Osman orders him to pop a cap in Halsey with no trial, and he dislikes (I'm willing to say, even HATES) her. This isn't dissimilar to how Thel is seen by his people.

If the UNSC is taking the place of the Covenant, I could see Lasky filling the role of Thel 'Vadam: He is fighting a war of extermination based on the ingrained (but false) belief that his family, his race, his very soul are at stake. He's fighting for something that is orders of magnitude bigger than himself, just like Thel did, and feels driven to secure that future at any cost.

astounding how quickly the Super Mario 3D All Stars announcement went from “oh, Nintendo’s actually doing something cool for once, nice” to “oh fuck you nintendo” at mach 7 speeds

I could see this as well and I love it.

Ok but imagine water balloons existed in the star wars universe and one day you and the clones start an all out water balloon brawl and everyone is going insane until you accidentally nail Wolffe in the face as he went to see what the commotion was

oh lordy okay here we go 

- this definitely has the 212th and 501st written all over it 

- 104th? as if. they’re more mature then that 

- it’s hardcase and fives fault 

- ahsoka introduced them to water balloons after anakin bought her eighteen bags of them 

- chaos 

- it starts with the boys sneaking into the bathroom with a bucket they found in the supply room to fill it 

- and then once they step out of that room, chaos 

- rex and cody both get roped into it 

- ‘’it’s not our fault!!” 

- “what, now you’re gonna blame the jedi?!” 

- ‘’who’s gonna win’’ 

- jesse and kix, hands up, full of balloons 

- ‘’battalion versus battalion!! go!” 

- it actually ends up being batch mates versus batch mates which is still chaos but uh... somehow they end up near the 104th Barracks 

- Wildfire, Comet, Boost and Sinker ignite once they realize the halls are coated in water, and it’s like children on christmas morning

- “What’s wrong boys? Loth-Cat got your tongue?” 

- “If by Loth-Cat, you mean one very irritable Wolffe, then yes’’ 

- It’s absolutely Boost’s fault

- He reaches a hand out for a balloon from Jesse and says, ‘’In five seconds, run like a bat out of Hell’’ 

- okay... and? why?

- wildfire drags his older brother out of their room 

- boost aims, fires

- and nails wolffe right in the face

- the commander, dripping wet and snarling, takes one look at the twenty five plus clones standing in the hallways 

- roars

- and the water balloon fight turns into a furious game of tag 

literally i could see this happening right before my eyes mark me down as terrified
