You can literally make anything and anyone problematic if you try hard enough seriously give me people and things and I’ll make them all “problematic” right now.
i saw this image and it becomes doubly funny cause in outcasts its shown that he feels guilty and openly admits to his actions when asked
I know it’s not hard to point out reactionaries hypocrisy when it comes to like safe spaces or hug boxes or whatever but genuinely how much of an echo chamber do you have to exist in for you to think this is a reasonable thing to say
Halo 5 Helmet Redesigns
A little project I’ve had in the works since the end of inktober.
There is a ton of criticism I have for the game, but one thing that’s bothered me a lot is the design of the Gen 2 armor variants and helmets.
Many of them just didn’t look like Spartan armor anymore. By all means excellent designs by themselves, they weren’t really the best fit for Halo. This was probably to support differentiation of rewards in the card pack system in the game, but from an in-universe standpoint it makes no sense to me.
Although it’s stated that production of power armor has been opened up to the private sector as well, there is something to be said about having compatible standards, especially in a military context and even more so when the people wearing these suits regularly get into extremely hazardous situations where damage to their armor is likely an replacements need to be made. Worse, Spartans often operate behind enemy lines without easy access to maintenance and having wildly different designs seems like a bad recipe for field repairs.
So that’s one thing I tried to do as a design exercise with this and create a more uniform look while keeping the icons that make the helmets unique: Where possible, all helmets share the same neck seal and neural interface port and a more straightforward visor. (Don’t get me started on Seeker.)
Variants where the main difference is some sort of add-on tech or visor have been redesigned to have one baseline frame with these additions on top (like back in Reach).
Variants that were really similar in design (think EVA and Orbital) have been condensed into one.
Some helmets have been ignored entirely and ones with super-gimmicky designs (hello Warmaster) have been dialed back.
Armor designs will follow once I figure those out.

I don't know what to do. We need nothing short of a miracle, but I doubt we will be so lucky
We are all so fucked
Cowboy Bebop (I think)
That post about death note being "everyone's first anime" (untrue statement) made me curious and now I want to gather data for science
Can you reblog this and tell me where are you from and what was your starter anime?
To this day I am still mixed on the Halo 4/5 Elite designs. I do not like how the faces are, with the placement of the mandibles and really, how tiny their faces are compared to the rest of their head (if that makes sense.)
I also don't really care for how they made them come off a bit too thuggish at times, be that in their movement or characterization.
That being said- I like their long sharp fingers, the texture work for them is great with the grey almost scaley skin, and there are some solid armor designs
This is amazing!
Another part of my Archie redraw series! With cover #3, this wraps up the original miniseries !
Timelapse of this is available on my Bluesky.
Some thoughts on this piece and on this issue below ⤵️
So, my initial plan was to do a Green Hill Loop, but incorporate more greenery and flora to actually make it feel like Green Hill and not just a basic grid. You can see a bit of that rough sketch at the very beginning of my timelapse.
But ultimately, I decided to stick to the abstract route and instead pulled directly from Sonic Mania for inspiration! I feel like nothing best captures that classic sonic aesthetic than that retro deco.
I also kind of found it fitting to pull inspo from Mania's OP for this one since Tyson Hesse mentioned before that this very cover was what inspired him to become an animator in the first place when discussing his cover for IDW #50.
I tried to fit as many Sonics as I could but ultimately skipped out on one, so there's 7 instead of 8 lol. I wanted to ensure that the "speediest" Sonic have his face covered by the quills of the Sonic still tapping his foot, as something I disliked about the original is the speediest Sonic overlapping the standing one. By all accounts, he should be Behind him and the other Sonics follow that suit, but if that particular Sonic did, his face would be covered. As a result, I compromised lol.
As for my thoughts on this issue!!!! I don't really have much haha. Ultimately, it's not going to be an issue I'm going to remember. It was just a fun silly issue, but there's not much there to really comment on. It was nice to see some more of Uncle Chuck though!!
With all that said, we're finally getting to the Actual series now and I can't wait ! <3
Without getting into spoiler territory-
Alien Romulus is fantastic. A wonderful homage to each film in the series, while somehow also managing to change things up and remain fresh. (Well, a lot of that freshness comes from how it takes certain ideas from the past and improves upon them)
My only real critque is the reuse of a few lines from previous films (seriously, just write your own dialogue) one of which got an eye roll out of me.
All in all, I really loved this film
(Fede Alvarez should direct a Doom movie)
Long story short, I have a talented friend whose superpower is to create awesome action/adventure storylines that can easily be translated into a game plot or miniseries, and they never cease to amaze and inspire me. Much to my chagrin, they rarely post, so I can't give you a link to the story, but I can show a bunch of concepts I did based on my friend's fanfiction. "After wreaking havoc on Eggman's ship, the hedgehogs teleport away from the explosion. Chaos Control goes awry, and two hapless heroes find themselves in the depths of the mountains. To get back to the surface, they will have to work together, whether they like it or not."
