all the abernants are autistic, but until adaine they were all Really Really good at masking and could basically act neurodivergent most of the time. then adaine came along and was unable to do that and stimmed in public and cried about the seams on her clothes and curled into a ball at loud noises. and ofc her parents (and aelwyn because of their manipulation) were very ableist towards her :((
her parents never got her a diagnosis despite very much knowing what was up, nor did they ever tell her like. youre autistic btw. and hudol was a Bad place for neurdivergent kids. aelwyn also had a terrible time and it resulted in a lot of trauma for her
so adaine grew up thinking that she was Doing Something Wrong and it was Her Fault she couldnt be 'normal' (read: like her family). also my adaine is transfem so she was like i cant be a boy Or normal i am so bad at this :((((
until she meets jawbone who brings up autism to her and shes like OHHHHHH. oh that makes sense. and she comes out to him and he takes her to buy more fem clothes and ear protectors and stim toys and aoiauahghghhg. save me jawbone oshaughnessey
later when adaine reconnects w aelwyn she tells her like im autistic and i think you are too. and it takes aelwyn a while to come to terms with it but she ends up learning how to unmask and such and its a Lot better for her <333 she also struggles w psychosis after the fallinel prison thing and jawbone helps her with that too
also they are both aroallo. thats unrelated i just really like it :)
@emiko-matsui i love this idea
So if you're in the UK you have probably heard about the proposed changes to disability benefits. If not, here is a BBC News article (link) about it, and the Big Issue (link) have been running basically non-stop articles about it since the announcement.
Crucially, the government is holding a consultation. Will as many of us as possible weighing in change the outcome? Possibly, though it's far from guaranteed. Will not filling it in help the situation in the slightest? No. So let's all have a go.
You can find the full Green Paper here: (link) and the options to respond are at the bottom of it, including the link to respond online, which is also here: (link)
It's also always worth contacting your MP to let them know what you think, if only to get a response on fancy Commons stationery. You can find your MP here: (link)
So, have at it, UK folks! (These proposals don't apply to Northern Ireland as benefits are transferred, but they are still taking NI comments and sharing them with the Department for Communities, so you may be able to influence whether this approach is taken up in NI in future, too)
And if nothing else, please reblog!

Question: What is the greatest magic of all? Answer: Friendship, right? [B]: The greatest magic of all is not friendship, it's chronomancy, the ability to control and warp time. If friendship were the greatest magic, look, it's a pet peeve of mine (...)
DUNGEON MASTER BRENNAN LEE MULLIGAN ANSWERS DnD QUESTIONS (TECH SUPPORT | WIRED)
Can’t find this anywhere on tumblr so I’m being the change I wanna see in the world
I want to see a magical girl anime where instead of a gorgeous, colourful sequin-filled transformation sequence, it’s shot and sound designed like a werewolf movie.
We see the protagonist and her ragtag group of pals who’ve been conforming to the genre up until this point, face up to the villain of the week as the main character starts to give an empowering speech about the power of friendship then halfway through fall to the ground in pain. A strangled scream bubbles from her lips as her friends join her on the ground, panting and writhing. We hear bones pop and sinew tear as they begin to emit a sickening glow and the villain steps back, clearly not expecting this. As a hand reaches out from the glowing pile of bodies and the villain turns to run, we see what horror they’ve become: The same group of young women but with snazzier outfits and hair to represent their individual powers and personality. They are also marginally taller. The speech continues like nothing happened and the villain throws up and surrenders immediately.
This sequence happens every episode.
