Velvette's whole personality is just being a brat with an attitude, yet she's my second favourite character in Hazbin out of all of these amazing relatable and developed characters.
What does it say about me
Please please someone help me figure this out.
I don't read a lot of marvel comics so I don't know what's happening there.
Why there are 2 different versions of America Chavez??
There is the 2017 run "America" where she has a grandmother and she's an alien she goes to her planet.
She has this whole experience.
But then in modern comics she's a child that was done experiments on??
WHY
Worst retcon I've ever seen.
Why did this happen? What happened?
Don't get me wrong I love her sister but what happened to the planet of lesbians? Why human?
Did the whole marvel universe been retconed in an event I'm not familiar with? Please someone help out here I'm lost.
I'm just trying to understand.
They wanted to give America a proper nationality instead of her being generically Latina. America is now Puerto Rican.
Oh cool! This is good to know.
Yeah this was a plot whole that I was wandering about myself. But this retcon is still kinda sad to me because we lost the lesbians planet and the beautiful lesbian goddesses and everything.
But I guess there are some good parts as well. I can understand that.
I've talked about DC's ridiculous whitewashing before, that they turned a character brown just so they won't have to admit the first character is brown (Helena Bertinelli and Selina Kyle/Helena Wayne).
But this case is seriously one of the most ridiculous thing I've seen related to whitewashing.
The whitewashing of Poison Ivy.
She is GREEN.
She is frickin green, why color her in a human skin tone?
Just let her be green! Why white?
Honestly the green suits her so much more.
I love her current series, but why she's white? Why can't artists let her be green?
Also there's Gar/ Beast Boy in his Graphic novel "Teen Titans: Beast Boy"
I haven't seen any real explanation why the artist Gabriel Piccolo gave him a human skin tone.
He's not really white so at least there's that, he's of African decent so at least he got to have some melanin, but I just find it strange.
I understand it's hard to blend in when you're green? And it's about him being a teen. But it still counts as an example of DC erasing green skin tone from character.
Just why?
This type of white washing or human-skin-tone-washing is just so funny to me.
Just let characters be green! Why white? Why human? Huge part of them are based on the fact they are not humans.
I haven't seen any explanation to this phenomenon, if anyone can give me any insights on this subject I'm open to learn.
I don't think there's a real explanation.
Dead Boy Detectives's fanarts artists- where are all the fanarts of Charles wearing a skirt?
Edwin Payne's flag be like:

(this is my personal design, if other people want to use it for other stuff they're more than welcome just with credit for the design!)
I feel like people forgot that redemption arc doesn't mean making the fans forgive the character.
Redemption arc is a process of a character actively trying to change their ways in order to redeem themselves from their past dids.
It's not just "I did bad things but I'm good now" (AHEM CATRA FROM SHE-RA).
If I killed a person but saved a life it does not compensate the life I took, I'm not "redeemed".
I LOVE good redemption stories but sometimes I feel like society forgot what redemption arc stands for. A lot of times it became to just making a bad character do good things so people will like/forgive them, not an actual redemption.
(in a reblog for my monty hook post) As I recall he never even kissed anyone so that's just heteronomative as fuck to just assume he's straight out of no where (and even if he did kiss it wouldn't necessarily mean anything).
He's not, never been, also anyone that thinks captain hook is straight missed some very important lessons in queer coding history have you looked at that man??
i also think it’s so sad the way even the queer community upholds top/bottom, inferior/superior dichotomies because it genuinely interferes with people discovering and accepting their own identities. i have spoken with so many bottoms & pillow princesses who realized they were gay and then they expected sex to be enjoyable now that they were engaging in sex aligned with their sexuality, only to find they still felt uncomfortable during sex and they were like “maybe I’m not gay….” and when i asked about their experiences it turned out that they simply do not enjoy topping and when i told them “okay, so don’t top,” they were shocked by that because we apply moral value to giving and receiving acts of sex, in which givers are Generous and Good and receivers as Selfish and Bad.
Not to mention that bottoming IS still giving & providing a sexual act, which is enjoyed by the person topping. not everyone has to be a vers! There is no superior way to engage in sex!
Call me Rubèn!! Or Ru / Ben if we're friends.✡️🌈 no pronouns/he/they/it.Used to be multi fandom, mostly Dead Boy Detectives right now. I swear this account had other subjects before.Usually mostly DC but I spit out a lot of random fandoms shit.
