Whooping cough cases have surged in the US since the beginning of the year, infecting Americans at a faster pace than any time since the mid-1950s as national vaccination rates decline and protection wanes. The bacterial infection also known as pertussis has sickened 8,077 people in the US through April 16, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Thatβs more than double the same period a year ago, when the agency confirmed 3,847 cases, and rivals the 2012 outbreak that was the biggest in half a century. At least four people have died from whooping cough this year, including two infants in Louisiana, an adult in Idaho and a child in South Dakota who was infected with both influenza and pertussis. So earlier in art class today, someone drew a characters hands in their pockets and mentioned that hands are really like the ultimate end boss of art, and most of us wholeheartedly agreed. So then, our teacher went ahead and free handed like a handful of hands on the board, earning a woah from a couple of students. So the one from earlier mentioned how it barely took the teacher ten seconds to do what I canβt do in three hours. And you know what he responded?
βIt didnβt take me ten seconds, it took me forty years.β
And you know, that stuck with me somehow. Because yeah. Drawing a hand didnβt take him fourth years. But learning and practicing to draw a hand in ten seconds did. And I think thereβs something to learn there but itβs so warm and my brain is fried so I canβt formulate the actual morale of the lesson.
there was a great study a few years that went into the whole "ppl online are bigger jerks than irl cuz theres a virtual wall and no repercussions" and the researchers were expecting to see that be the case but it turns out that people who were really angry or argumentative online were also found to just be assholes in person and people who were pretty patient and nice online were found to be patient and nice in real person as well
and it just debunked that whole cynical idea that people will naturally be mean if theres no punishment for it
One more joke hate: You may claim to be a woman but biologically you are a featherless biped and thus a man.
Finally a good argument for why I'm actually a man
Dear video essay creators. A video analysis is when you analyze a piece of media. No no look at me. A summary, no matter how thorough, is not an analysis. An analysis requires you to draw conclusions about the media such as authorial intent, real-world parallels, discussion about themes/worldbuilding/character motivation, and so much more. You have to stop summarizing something and saying thatβs analysis. The Gaylors are doing more critical analysis than you. Is that who you want to lose to? The gaylors?
Been thinking more about medieval Warriors recently and wanted to revisit my Crookedstar design. He's always a lot of fun to draw.
I think it'd be cool if the River Kingdom is the only of the 4 (previously 5) kingdoms to refer to their monarch as a highlord or steward, because they consider the river to be the true king, possessing the spirt of King River Rippell.
