In all honesty, when you texted Jungkook complaining about that were extremely exhausted from work today, you had not expected him to show up at your door with a little bag and the sweetest smile on his lips, telling you that he wanted to help you relax.

But here you are, standing in your bathroom because Jungkook has bought your favourite peel off face mask and ordered you to sit on the edge of the bathtub to put it on your face.

"Where's the pink thing that keeps your hair from your face?" Jungkook asks, examining the inside of the first drawer he opened.

"Second drawer."

After fishing the pink headband with a bowknot from the drawer he carefully puts it on your head.

You hand him your face mask brush and Jungkook dips it into the soft mass to apply it to your skin.

"Be careful of my eyebrows," you tell him, watching his concentrated face that is just mere inches away from yours.

"Mhm," he hums, softly tilting your face with his index finger under your chin.

When Jungkook's tongue peeks out, touching his lips piercing because he is so caught up in covering your skin with the paste, you start to giggle.

"What?" he asks, a weak frown on his face.

"I just think you're putting too much effort in this."

"Be grateful. This is JK's spa salon's special treatment. The salon is not often open. Many wish to get an appointment like this."

You giggle. "Then, am I going to get treated like a princess today?"

"That's the whole point," Jungkook rolls his eyes. "Done," he says, after brushing over your cheek for a last time. "Now let's go to the living room for a massage."

Just hearing the word massage is almost making you moan out loud.

"But wait." You stand up, grabbing his wrist. "Lemme put some on you too."

"Fine," he answers.

You open the second drawer again, pulling out the same headband you're wearing, only it's a soft blue one.

"Oh, I don't need one." Jungkook pushes away your hand.

"Your hair's in the way tho."

"I can just use my hand."

You ignore him and drape the headband over his head.

He heaves a long sigh but nevertheless, he lets you do whatever you want.

Grabbing the brush from his hand you place your hand on his shoulder, standing on your tip toes to reach his face. Jungkook leans down to make it easier for you.

"I hate you for having clear skin without even taking care of it."

"I do put on some sheets masks, tho."

"That's like the bare minimum," you huff. "I have a whole five step skincare routine and still don't have as clear skin as you have."

Jungkook has to bite back a smile.

And for the next few minutes you just enjoy applying the peel off mask on his handsome face.

"Gimme your hair tie."

You pull it off your wrist, handing it back to Jungkook.

You're sitting on the carpet, between Jungkook's legs who sits on the couch behind you.

Jungkook gathers your hair. You don't know why and how, but the feeling of his fingers in your hair relaxes you more than anything else.

You feel him pull and twist your hair before he ties a weirdly shaped bun on top of your head. You don't want to know how ridiculous his messy bun looks on you right now. At least he tried.

"Could've just asked me," you tell him.

"Shhh," he says. "Now it's time for you to relax."

"Can you play with my hair after this, though? I like when you do that."

"Of course, baby."

As soon as you feel his big hands on your shoulders, your eyes close and a relieved sigh escapes your lips. This is all you needed.

"Feels good," you mumble, head hanging low. He hums softly behind you as if he already knows.

"Had a lot going on today?" he asks.

"I don't think I've ever seen so many people at the coffee shop."

"Poor baby," he coos, kneading your tense flesh between his hands. "I don't know what they're called but I bought some fancy looking face rollers at the store."

You gasp. "You mean jade rollers?"

"I guess. Thought we could use it after the masks."

"I'd love to."

"And I also bought cookies at the store."

"Oh my God," you whisper, partly because you're obsessed with the cookies from the store and partly because Jungkook just found a sore place on your back. "I love you."

You wait a few second, but Jungkook doesn't say anything.

"Hey." You turn to him. "You're supposed to say it back." You try to scowl, despite the dry mask on your face.

Jungkook smiles, leaning down to peck your temple. "I love you."

Satisfied, you turn around again.

They’re more than a little rough around the edges, and the situation is less than ideal but… maybe the best things don’t always come in perfect, shiny packages. Maybe they just need a little time to bloom.

It seems that for all your many efforts over the weeks in reassuring the two hybrids that they’re wanted by you and that they can settle down and make this their home, it doesn’t really sink in until after the night you let them scent you.

Which, of course, makes sense considering that was what was making them unsettled in the first place. You knew that letting them do that would return their behaviour to normal, but you weren’t expecting that in the process it would also do a complete one-eighty.

It’s like a switch has been flipped.

The first thing you notice, is that when you all head to bed and you enter your room, closing the door behind you, they seem to hover outside of it for a moment before continuing to their own room. Now, the old you would be thinking why? But! This is the new you, the new-and-improved y/n who knows how to use google when she should! And since you’ve been referring to google and the more trustworthy sites you’ve found, you know that they’re probably battling the urge to be closer to you.

What you mean by that, is that you read that more often than not hybrids prefer to be as close to their owners as possible at all times—and this can also mean that they want to sleep in the same room. It soothes an instinctual part of them, apparently. You can understand it, plus, if you’re being honest…. You’re not as opposed as you should be.

The idea of getting to cuddle with them while you sleep makes you feel warm and gooey inside, but the thing is that after the way things were hinted to be going the other night… you kind of have to chase off more than inappropriate thoughts every time you think about it. You can’t help it! They’re both handsome, sweet boys, and—

You’re gonna stop yourself there.

“I’m home!”

You call out as soon as you enter through the door, an unnecessary act considering they could probably hear you all the way down the street if they really tried. Still, it’s habit. You used to yell it even when no one was here, because it made you feel less lonely. Kind of sad, now you think about it. You hum, reaching the bench and placing your things down on top of the counter.

You’re startled into yelping when thick arms slip around your waist, heat pressing against your back and a face mushing into your neck. The lack of whining tells you it’s Taehyung that has reached you first today, eager to cuddle close until every trace of any other hybrid’s scent is gone. They’ve taken to doing this every time you get home—at first you wanted to protest, since they barely let you get five steps through the door before accosting you, but after seeing how pleased and content they look after, you couldn’t be mad at them for it even if you wanted to.

“Tae,” you hum, reaching up to run your fingers through his hair; your nails run against the back of his ear by accident and something akin to a purr thrums through his chest. He presses his lips to the junction of your neck before nipping it lightly in greeting, arms tightening around your waist fractionally. “I missed you too.”

Jungkook slides himself out from underneath your car, checking on a few things before finishing his work on the front portion. He wipes his forehead down, before wiping his tools on the towel hanging from the pocket of his work pants.

“You’re really focusing on that car.” His uncle comes by, chuckling as he checks out the progress. “It’s almost done.”

“Yeah, practically.”

“You sure this girl is worth it? You’re taking chunks out of your paycheck to help cover this.”

“It’s fine, she needs it more than I do.”

“So, definitely worth it.” Jungkook gives him a tight-lipped smile. It was worth it to him, he just hopes it wasn’t the wrong thing to do.

Just as he’s about to finish up his shift today, he gets a call on his phone. He wipes off his hands and takes a look at the caller ID.

It’s you. You’re actually calling him.

Your request is nothing new given the amount of times he fails to say no to you. Jungkook looks at you completely unfazed. Putting his Apple pen down, he crosses his arms the moment you push your textbook away to reach out to him.

“Please?” you beg, wide-eyed and hopeful. He shakes his head at you and you immediately pout at his sternness.

You sulk.

“Okay, how about this? I promise I won’t ask for a study break for at least another hour if you let me.. I’ll even proofread your paper even though you know I have an attention span of goldfish.”

His heart clenches at the sound of your determination. Your proposal may be dismissed by others; but not to him. See, he believes you’re inherently blessed with editing skills. Every once in a while, you’d edit his papers and he’d receive full marks—he’d be a dummy to pass this limited service up.

Yet, it’s not about what he gains from you; it’s about how he can make you happy.

You take Jungkook’s eye roll and defeated sigh as a win, instantly opening the marker cap and waving it in front of him. As Jungkook rolls up his sleeves, you squeal in excitement. He lays his arm on the table for you and you groan at the position.

“Wait,” you pause, getting up from your seat and standing by his side. Jungkook leans his head back, looking up at you confused.

“Can I sit on your lap?” your request makes his heart race.

He is utterly dumbfounded.
