hey have you heard of this brand new aa trend that totally just came out

this is honestly just an excuse to draw baby papyrus!! i personally like the headcanon that papyrus and sans are very close in age, as i think (?) that they were supposed to be twins or left ambiguous (but had to be changed for japanese localization). howeverr, i made some creative liberties in this animation so. here, have parental sibling sans.

i’d like to imagine that if baby papyrus had a gaster blaster, it would have round jaws (like bby papy’s widely spread fanon design) and be crying (due to a desperate want to not kill). him not having arms like monster kid is such a silly idea to me and i honestly love the concept of child monsters slowly growing arms over time!! (also i don’t wanna draw his hands and arms 😓) this video is kinda up for interpretation to what it means. could it have a connection to gaster? does papyrus know something? does sans know something? are we in deltarune or undertale? is there no deeper meaning at all? i have no idea either!!! use your imagination!!!!!

I’ve watched it three times and cried really bad on my first watch, so safe to say, this video has affected me. So I wanted to draw something that paid tribute to it!!! It was definitely a challenge trying to get all the descriptive metaphorical writing into a visual medium, but I hope I did it a justice!!

gentle giants are genuinely my lifeline !! how would this change the story line?? literally absolutely nothing. ok well maybe the castle would be huge and it’d be a little harder to kill him but. i don’t know, i just randomly remembered the original concept for sans where he was a gentle giant and ran with the idea.

the parallels between sans, papyrus, and flowey/asriel are INSANE by the way

by the way, this animation/animatic was made under the assumption that sans does NOT remember resets, and only has knowledge of/is studying them.

both asriel and papyrus are often perceived as a child and look on the positive side of things with a sibling that hides many secrets. both sans and flowey are secretive, have some association with the resets, and are nihilistic in their own ways. someone else could probably do a way better analysis, but i don’t have the brain power right now 😭

some of these scenes are definitely more on the headcanon side. for example, sans meeting flowey in one of the timelines, and then getting stabbed with a vine is just a little bit of my imagination working. it explains a bit of why sans doesn’t exactly like flowey nor trust him, possibly due to having some kinda negative deja vu or getting a bad feeling about him. as a character, i wouldn’t say sans is the trusting type either, so he’d probably follow his instincts. papyrus, on the other hand, would most likely brush it off in hopes of making a new friend. (his loneliness needs to be studied by the way PLEASE 🙏) many parts of the video are supposed to imply that papyrus is stronger/knows more than he lets on, which is more of a theory than headcanon, but it’s there!!

entire idea based on this one post i saw of someone wanting flowey and papyrus to be put under this song because they thought it fit well, and i had an epiphany!!
