Imagine if they were so excited because, they were sent back in time by clockwork, and allowed to change one thing to make the world better. He told them they would know what they were supposed to change when the time came (he already knew what would do and saw how much better the timeline would be) so as soon as they discovered what time period they had been sent back to, they immediately set to work on getting rid of the Jocker. So many people’s lives would be better without him they knew this for a fact. They only had one change they could make, and getting rid of the Joker was the best way to make it count.
After making sure the other important things still fall into place afterward (like Tim joining the team. They may or may not have helped Jason spot him), Clockwork took them back to the present. From Harly, Ivy (they def interacted with her if Jaz was interning with Harly), Bruce, Dick, Jason, and Tim’s POV, these sibling just appeared in Gotham one day, suspiciously around the time Joker “got sick” and then promptly disappeared out of existence once the batfam took in Tim.
Now, years later, (it’s only been like, a day for Jazz and Danny) they reappear, looking exactly the same as they did the last time they saw them. Chaos ensues as the batparanoia goes through the roof with Batman trying to figure this out. Harley and Ivy are confused, but are also quite happy to see their friend again, and Jazz is equally as excited to see them, talking about the old days as if they were yesterday.
I agree with some of the other reblogs that Harley still becomes a rouge, but I think she’s not nearly as violent, because she doesn’t have the tacked on trauma the Joker caused her. She fits into the anti-hero role a little better than just straight up villain.
Danny: Jazz! I just scored you a personal internship with Harleen Frances Quinzel! The same woman you write your college entrance essay on!
Jazz: *Squeal* How did you manage that?!
Danny: I pulled some strings on the other side. Pays to be Ghost King. Now pack your bags, we're going to Gotham for two years!
Jazz: We?
Danny: Of course. Like I would leave you alone for months on end. I got myself a paid internship in Wayne Tech.
Jazz: *Louder Squeal* This is going to be so much fun! Did you know Miss Quinzel just accepted a job as Arkham Asylum? She's going to personally work on Joker!
Danny: You have the perfect window to posion him!
Jazz: Dreams do come true!
I have the urge to add on, but don't know what to write-
Humans like to interpret the afterlife as some unreachable place, or some distant time. But they also like to describe the transition between living and dead as passing through gates, passages, doors, veils. And that rather implies the afterlife is simply the next room over, not some whole other house.
The thing about ghosts is, everyone eventually dies. Everyone. And most everyone stays dead. They leave one room - the room of the living - and never enter it again. But ghosts will knock on the walls, tap on windows, play their music far too loudly at two am, thump and bump and generally annoy the living into acknowledging their continued existence.
They wander the halls and yards of existence without going back into the living room, and never quite let you forget they were still there.
As a half ghost, that was especially true of Danny. And his Lair reflected it.
While the interiors of Lairs were generally contained to the Ghost Zone, they existed at the points where one reality intersected the other. Their walls were the walls between living and dead.
Danny, being both living and dead, had a Lair more liminal than most. It sauntered down side streets, and peeked into other people's houses; it made itself comfortable on the couches of neighbours, and invaded public parks. Most of FentonWorks was his Lair, but so were certain halls of his school, a booth at the Nastyburger, and the sky over Amity Park.
And when Danny moved out, left Amity and started university in Gotham, his Lair went with him.
Let me say it again - this metaphysical space of liminality, that claimed a city's whole sky, several building interiors, and nearly entire neighbourhoods - moved to Gotham.
This was a bit of problem for the local vigilantes.
There were new streets. New parks. New rooftops with accompanying buildings that could only be accessed from above. There was a mystery booth at the Batburger nearest Gotham U that only seemed to exist on certain days of the week, with a menu to a place that didn't exist and music that hadn't seen airtime since the 90's.
You could see the stars from Crime Alley, even on cloudy nights.
Granted, Danny couldn't exactly control where his Lair manifested physically.
It hovered around his apartment in Park Row, putting his childhood bedroom up the hall from his new, adult bedroom. It added halls to GU, then claimed new ones as Danny progressed through his degree. It collapsed dead end alleyways into small town green spaces, and made sure at least some of the exits lead back to Gotham.
The vigilantes particularly disliked that little feature. For all that Danny's Lair was adding features to Gotham, it wasn't removing them from Amity Park. So when you entered a "new" building from a rooftop in Gotham, the street level exit left you hundreds of miles away in a city in an entirely different State.
The average citizen adapted, of course. It was nice to take your lunch break in a peaceful (if a bit spooky) park that cancelled out all the city noise of downtown Gotham, and still be able to get back to work on time. And Gotham U was already such a maze, a few non-euclidean hallways that cut across campus was seen as a godsend. So what if they looked like they came from a movie about high school in the 80's?
It only really became a problem for Danny when his Lair opened itself a door between his kitchen, and a mansion he'd never even visited before.
Because now Batman was in his apartment, and Danny had no way to explain that he hadn't intentionally started haunting Wayne Manor.
"This is Raven." Danny pointed out, slurping his smoothie.
"Hi."
"Her dad is Trigon."
"Oh, that the guy who-" tucker spoke up.
"Yea, same guy who kept trying to invite himself into my annual ball each year in the infinite realm? Yea, that guy." Danny said as went straight for his burger.
"And that his daughter or si-
"Yea, his daughter, supposedly some secret weapon to try and invite into my home dimension to go to the party. I just put one of my spare anti trigon rings on her, disconnecting the line between him to her when she reverse summoned me for a bargain for something, and she kept following me ever since" Danny said, munching on his burger then sipping the remaining of his smoothie.
"Danny, I think you accidentally married trigon's daughter." Tucker flat out said as danny choked on his smoothie.
Ok, but now I absolutely need to read a fic where Diana adopts Danny and Billy. Like, just… it’s perfect. Both Danny and Billy know about the Greek mythos (Billy’s gods and for Danny I sight Pandora), and also, Diana’s just the right mix of chaotic but will still reign them in-
He's been denied entry into the Justice League yet again, but that's fine.
He's not angry.
Nope.
But like, he is feeling like getting a little bit of revenge. Not angry revenge, which would be totally different.
But...petty.
He wants petty revenge.
And he knows where the Watchtower is.
So he makes it his mission to sneak into the Watchtower, over and over and over again, and while completely invisible and intangible, eat the inside of all the heroes treats and meals, so that all they're left with is a hollowed out shell.
Cakes? Just a shell. Sandwiches? Difficult but he manages to hollow those out too. Ice Cream? Just the outside. Spaghetti? Almost impossible, but he manages to do a swap instead; it's spaghetti laying on top of old cardboard. Anything inside of a wrapper? He eats it and leaves the wrapper.
The way I cackled 🤣
Can I talk about Danny Fenton Kills the Joker ? I hope you said yes bc I'm going to.
Now, I like it for the bit. Anyone killing Joker for the bit is hilarious.
But for the serious ? Ouhgggg I love it.
Danny is surrounded by death, he IS dead. He's seen his family die ! He fights ghosts for a living(and a deading too) ! In some fics he's the KING of the dead !
Death is so normal to him, he forgets that most people see dying as the end all be all, the little thing that is total obliteration. To him, people die and then fall under his jurisdiction, or they reincarnate somewhere.
So when he kills this guy who is causing the living a whole lot of strife he thinks "cool. I'll just take him off your hands. You can have visitation rights once you come here too. Bye."
Meanwhile Batman has such conviction about sentencing anyone to the nothingness that death is supposed to be is like "what could this child have grown up around.... To take a life so easily... Was he raised like Damian... ? Oh no..."
rebloging in hopes of someone continuing this fine prompt. (I can’t write romance for shit-)
"You're very good at pretending to be a shadow."
Tim's voice shook Danny from his quiet note taking and he looked up at his study partner with furrowed brows and confusion on his face. "I'm sorry?" It was as much a question as it was an apology which meant it was neither really.
Electric blue eyes pinned him in place, and Tim looked at Danny as if he had just said the sky was green. "If I had not been partnered with you in our ecology class I wouldn't know you exist. No one at this school knows you exist besides the staff and even then you're a name to a face to a grade. Nothing else. You're very good at pretending to be a shadow, a bodiless thing gliding along the edges of society."
Danny bit his lip slightly, mulling these words over. Tim was right of course, he never allowed himself to make waves, he stuck to the background of any place he was in, and really he was surprised that he wasn't more noticeable with how often Tim Drake-Wayne was his study partner. "I guess...I've never really like attention anyway. Why, you stalking me, Drake?" He raised a brow at the other boy, attempting to hide his confusion behind snark. He hardly ever used Tim's last name, either of them, but this seemed like an appropriate time to do so.
"Hiding something, Nightingale?" Tim snarked back but there was a bit of genuine questioning under his tone that had Danny tensing up in his sit, gripping his pencil a little too tightly in his left hand. "I can only contact you through your student email, you don't have a phone number or a phone period as far as I can tell, you have a laptop that barely works and seemingly requires a blood sacrifice to do the most basic of tasks. You live on campus but you never let me see your dorm, you never agree to meet me anywhere but the library on campus and I just-" He lets out a heavy sigh and runs his hands through his hair and suddenly Danny is a lot less tense in his seat. When Tim's eyes settle on him again there's genuine concern there and it breaks his heart. "I am worried. Daniel Nightingale doesn't exist outside of this college and it makes me think you're running from something or someone. If that isn't the cause then by all means please tell me I'm overstepping but Danny..." Tim reaches across the table that separates them and grabs at his free hand. "If you need help I'm here, ok?"
And oh...oh Danny's core positively sings in his chest at the admission. Protection was a major obsession for Danny and the way Tim talked, the way he explained his thought process, it made Danny feel warm and fuzzy inside despite the permanent chill in his body. Tim wanted to protect him and wasn't that so sweet? "I-" Danny stuttered before a sad smile was spreading across his lips and he gave the boy's hand a gentle squeeze. "I appreciate that but unless you have a way to somehow get an entire government organization disbanded and legislature revoked then I'm afraid this is out of your ballpark."
And really, Danny should've known better than to open his fat mouth. He should've known that the Fenton luck would bite him in the ass with his first real friend since Sam and Tucker. Tim may have dropped the conversation after that but by no means had he dropped the topic entirely. No instead apparently he had somehow gotten into contact with the Justice League because less than two weeks later Batman, Red Robin, Superman, and John Constantine of all people were waiting for him inside his dorm when he got back from a late night of studying.
What.
The.
Fuck.
I absolutely need this. I need to see one of the heroes (probably Batman, let's be honest) put two and two together, realizing that A) these kids only ever interrupt one of Flash’s fights to stop him from time traveling, and B) they supposedly don’t exist and.. Oh, oh no, Flash erased them from this timeline but they still exist. No wonder they’re pissed-
Especially if the kids is uno reverse Bruce Wayne bait.
These two kids literally stopped him from running back through the time 13th times in a roll by doing something distracting that completely took his attention alongside this them saving the day before Flash went back to fix it.
Scary accurate, too, after the last time he was tackled and manhandled by a giant glowing green dog when the kids play hot potato and threw a purple dog toy at him saying fetch cujo.
This little brats has some type of vendetta over him that they keeps stopping him from time running.
The 'We will break your kneecaps' on the watchtower in glowing green marker is new to him.. in the middle of a meeting with the Justice league.
You know, for the fastest man in the world, he didn't expect to get stalked and unabled to catch the stalkers even at last speed 13 times in a roll.
Especially with a group of heroes and Batman staring down at Flash for him to explain what had happened.
That two little kids were stalking the fastest man in the world to stop him from running sounds ridiculous, but it was true that even his team investigating can't seem to find anything or nothing on the database about this two children.
As if they didn't exist in the first place...

All danny wanted to do was go home after a lesson about being the Infinite Prince and its duty from Clockwork, but yet he couldn't seem to find the home portal, not even Vlad’s was opened which was very odd.
He did catch Ellie zooming around the ghost realm, who was panicking as well about the missing portals, but thankfully, Johnny and Kitty helped them find a natural portal to their home dimension.. Danny is going to have a stern talking with them about that later, but right now, he wanted to go home now.
Only.. there was no home to go to because Amity Park had disappeared.
If it weren't for Clockwork's sticky notes all over a stump trunk that used to be Amity Park's welcome sign that saved Danny from having a total meltdown and psychic break in his core with how small he and ellie became slipping out of the natural portal.
Apparently, some Jackass Time Speeder changed the timeline too many times in which Amity Park, the world greatest ghost town, ceased to existence.
Thankfully, Clockwork left them a little gift that were time watches to help located the dirty bastard that basically ruined Danny's timeline in exchange of punishment for all the timelines clockwork had to fix due to this man.
Danny and Ellie would gladly accept beating up this wannabe timeline ruining bastard, and they'll be creative at it, too.
Oh gods, I hate it-

I love love all your writings!!
I like your depictions of John Constantine.
I'd like to see you write the sad trenchcoat persona as just that a persona in the same fashion as how Brucie Wayne is a persona.
Maybe he's been the de-aged Danny/Dannies father for years and is an actual functional adult. The sad trenchcoat is just used to keep people from calling on him to frequently because he's a dad and has dad-like things to do.
He could help tim with the time stream thing, like 'oh, yeah that does look like Bruce. Alright kid pack a bag we're going in the time stream I know a guy. No Nightwing I'm not joking this looks like solid proof'.
Maybe Bruce has a oh shit he's actually competent and could kill me, that's hot moment. (Kids I have found your other father, help me get him home)
"I would love to offer more of my time to waste on monitor duty, but I have a previous engagement. A particular fit lady needs help getting her dress on the floor. The cloth always gets stuck on her horns. " John leers, wagging his eyebrows at the grimaces his words cause.
He takes a puff of his cigarette, inhaling the smoke like a drowning man. He never smokes at home, not with Danny's sensitive lungs or Dani's general disgust at smoking, so he only had the chance when called away on missions.
Plus, Danny was trying out for ballet soon, and he wasn't going to ruin his son's chances of being a star because of his own poor habits.
It helped that the rest of the heroes believed he was consistently pumping nicotine into his system. Rather irresponsible for the hero to publicly commit frowned-upon activities - at least in the States. Back home, no one cared that much.
It didn't matter that the Justice League was a global team; the main hard hitters and founders were nearly all American, and they tended to uphold those social expectations, either subconsciously or not.
One more reason why they shouldn't bother John, he can't have him smoking at a big awards ceremony or seen going through an entire pack of cigarettes mid-fight. Oh no.
John Constantine was one of the best magic users of this universe, but he was a last resort. There were plenty of other magic users like Zatanna, Dr. Fate, Zatara, or even Etrigan that came to mind first.
John was likely too busy drowning his misery in bottles or the arms of any willing partner. That's what they all thought.
Or more importantly than what he wanted them to think.
"Well, this has been a time." He announces, snapping his fingers to open a portal to his house. "But I have to run. My lady needs a knowledgeable hand to help her-"
"Enough," Batman growls. Though he has complete control over his emotions, John can tell he's irritated by the meaningless detail. He smirks as the hero waves a hand, "Just go."
He offers the rest of the meeting room a cheeky two-finger salute as he struts out, letting the portal close behind him so his trench coat flares dramatically. It's a nice view, he's sure, but it's also unnecessarily showy, and he is sure at least three pairs of eyes are rolling at his exit.
A chuckle escapes his mouth, straightening from his slouch to properly stand straight and bend it far enough to pop. Goodness, his act always leaves him with a sore upper back; maybe he shouldn't hunch over so much, even if he was playing the part of a no-good punk.
John only had a few seconds to shiver at his own thoughts- he was a punk. A real one! He was in a band!- before he heard the tell-tell sign of a rapidly approaching double set of footsteps echo down the hall. He scrambles to fling his lit cigarette into a water portal, chucking the pack for double security, while summoning a random suitcase from thin air.
All that's left is his rather eye-catching coat, a little too worn down and old to work well with his well-put-together outfit underneath. Without it, John has a clean, pressed white shirt, a respectful tie, and a pair of slacks that make more than one head turn as he walks.
All in all, he looks like the office businessman his worthless father always wanted to be.
John throws off his coat over a chair at the same time the door is thrown open with a pair of excited yells. "Welcome home, Dad!"
A grin stretched across his face before he could think about it, feeling his heart swell at the sight of them, as he knelt down, arms open wide. Two tiny bodies slam into him without a second of hesitation, nearly knocking John backwards.
He lets out a soft grunt as Dani's arms attempt to wrap around his left arm and right shoulder. She clashes against Danny, who's trying to bury himself into John's right side, little face squished against one of John's pecs, like a bunny burrowing into the snow.
"Hello, my little lambs!" He gushes, squeezing the kids close. "How was your day with the House of Mystery? Did you two behave?"
"They were angels," Black Orchid confirms, gliding into the room at a much slower pace. They had their regular, impassive expression on their faces, but John could tell that Orchid was happy with the kids by the way they gently tapped the tops of the children's black hair.
"Dad! Dad! Now that you're home, can we please go get my new ballet shoes?" Danny begs, bouncing on his toes.
For a moment, John doesn't see his son, but rather his own blue eyes staring up at his father, when he was also five, begging to join Lily, the next-door neighbor, in beginners' ballet class.
His father had beaten him nearly to death for wanting such a girly interest. It was the last time they spoke about it. It was also the last time John ever bothered asking to start new hobbies.
"Dad! Dad! Can I do Karate?" Dani asks then, snapping John from his memories better left buried, as she presses her check against her brother's in an attempt to get John's attention. "I want to break a board with my fist!"
He gives the children another squeeze, laughing at the squeals he gets. "Of course you can do karate, little lamb. We're going to get your brother his shoes, and then I'll find a gym that offers the classes at the same time."
"I already provided that service." Orchid cuts in, holding a flyer for Flying Graysons' gym, founded and run by the eldest Wayne in Gotham. "I took the liberty of signing Danny up for a class with Casnadra Wayne, and Dani will join Duke Thomas's class. It starts in a week."
"Plenty of time to go get them everything they need and a new book series for our bedtime stories," John announces, loosening his arms so his children can cheer and bounce up and down in excitement. His knee is starting to cramp up, but he ignores it so he can hold his kids.
It's moments like these, so small and mundane, that John is grateful he thought of his persona. When he first learned how to use the magic he was gifted, he always made himself available for any crisis.
This was before the Justice League days, so anyone who sought him out was familiar with the occult world. He adored helping, and he built an incredible amount of skill and knowledge in magic, but soon John was facing disaster after disaster, dragging his exhausted body from one place to another.
Those who came searching for him never cared. They wanted John to jump at the drop of a hat. He tried for years to always be ready, always be willing, but years of isolation and desperate battles tried him to the core.
Then he took in Danny and Dani, finding the pair of babies in a basket at the feet of the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep. He had gone to investigate the legends of the famous King Pariah Dark, only to find what he assumed were originally sacrifices, well and truly alive.
Their names were attached to their feet with a letter written by a Jazz Fenton begging the two to grow and live well. She had died to save them. In her honor, John kept their names.
Daniel "Danny" Fenton and Danielle "Dani" Fenton. He often wondered what Jazz had been to the kids, with their identical last names. It is a question he will never get the answer to.
They could have been no older than five months, but when they opened their eyes and reached up for him, John realized he no longer wanted to be the go-to man of magic.
He wanted to be their father.
To discourage people from calling him away from his children, John created his persona of a man barely honorable enough to join a team. Over the five years of his raising his kids, his reputation plummeted until only Batman called to him unless absolutely necessary.
It was a breath of fresh air. John had fought for too long and too hard. He was retired now, just like his band days, the days when John would speed off to save the world were behind him. He only stepped in if a friend asked for a favor.
He had other priorities now.
The best part? The Justice League would never know that.
"Dad!" Dani screamed into his ear, making him grimace.
"Inside voice, darling."
"Sorry." She twirls her fingers, a nervous habit she picked up from John, before brightening up "I'm just super excited. Orichad said Mr. Bruce Wayne will be at the gym! Do you think he'll sign my Wayne Space shirt?"
Ah, yes, the man who was funding some space program or another. He only knew about this because his twins adored anything to do with space travel, as if though he couldn't just teleport them to a different planet.
"I'm sure he will, darling."
i desperately need this now-
Somebody has probably thought of this already, but dpxgf crossover where the casper high kids go to gravity falls for a field trip, and as soon as they get there they're setting off ford and dippers "That's not human" senses, but neither can figure out what's wrong with these kids until the class tries to leave and none of them can because of weirdness barrier- so now the entire class of liminals (+danny as a halfa) are freaking out, because they were only meant to be away for like a week and after the giw their parents will freak out if the class doesn't get home soon, shenanigans ensue with the amity parkers, but the pines family can not figure out what's wrong with these kids to save their life, because ghosts have just never appeared in gravity falls before, and it's driving dipper and ford mad trying to figure everything out while the amity parkers are actively messing with them because if their stranded here, might as well have fun, right?
yes please, to all of this. Can someone write this?
Lex Luthor after years of r&d stumbles upon ectoplasm. He then uses this experimental fuel source to power his machines for years.
The GIW gets wind of this, the GIW who currently have both Jazz and Danny in containment after Maddie and Jack handed them over.
Lex finds these two children and for a moment he’s back in his childhood, remembering his father. His horrible drunkard of a father, and he sees red. When he calms down the GIW base is nothing more than a smoking crater and he is carrying the two children.
