Bots Bots Bots! Hate 'em or find them amusing, they're in the way, so what can we do about them?

Bots on Tumblr are a nuisance to the roughly 135 million users that call this hellsite home, typically posting sexually explicit content in hopes of luring a poor soul into their tricky clutches.

We aim to minimize the amount of time these bots posts are up in our community, so here's what you can do to help us mods out:

Reporting, Protecting, & Taking Down:

Report It! Locate the three dots in the top right corner of the post, open it, and select 'report to moderators'. This overrides all of our other notifications from the community, highlighting the reported post so we can find it quicker. Note: You can also report their profile/post to Tumblr.

Make a border post! We want to minimize how many people are exposed to this bot post, as they are typically sexual. This kind of content can be especially triggering to some, or harmful to under aged members. Guide: "Bot Below!" {10 or so spaces} "Take Care!"

Block! These bots tend to mass post across several communities, so block their user! This means that now that you've seen them once, it won't happen again while browsing your other communities. Note: They typically get banned very quickly, and new bots appear. It's a game of whack-a-mole, and it never ends, so more of them will pop up.

i keep finding good music with ai generated album covers and it actually like hurts me. you're a musician. you're an artist. you spend i assume hours and hours poring over a single track, come out with something you're proud of and then dont have the braincells to stop yourself from making an ai album cover. you won't hire someone or make some photobashed shit in canva out of copyright free images or something. have you no sense of dignity. no sense of comradery as a creative type. you could make a crayon drawing and take a picture in shit lighting with your phone and it would be infinitely more charming than the ai art. youre ugly youre disgusting im gonna kill you give me 500 dollars
