I think this is why so many kids want to grow up faster than they need to, it's because being a kid feels like a cage.
It is so fucking sinister that the only form of child abuse that society really cares about is sexual in nature. parents are free to control everything about their child's movement, presentation, eating, faith traditions, information exposure, socialization, and can restrict all of these things to an extreme degree as a form of punishment or in order to shape the child into whatever they want that child to be. and that's all considered completely normal, the parent's right! people don't even see the fact that a parent has the power to control so much about a child's life for damn near 20 years to be a problem. The only time they become concerned about child abuse is when the prospect of an outside stranger behaving in a sexual way toward a child is raised. and yeah a lot of really horrific sexual abuses are enacted unto children, but that's because they have zero control over their own lives and bodies in any other way as well. It is all about power and control. and typically the ones who are abusing children the most frequently are the ones who have the most control over them, the parents.
What's even scarier is it working.
influencers actively trying to convince young women to aspire to unemployment and servitude is literally so sinister
Eddie who goes on Worst Cooks in America because he is Genuinely Hopeless, but Wayne is getting older and Eddie wants to be able to take care of him and knowing how to cook is necessary, vs. Celebrity chef Steve Harrington who is appalled by just how bad Eddie is, but also absolutely enamored by his story and his determination to be better.
Steve has to restrain himself as he sees Eddie getting more competent and confident in the kitchen, while Eddie has to focus on not dropping to his knees anytime Steve gives him any kind of praise.
In the end, Eddie may not win the show, but he gets a very special consolation prize once filming is finally over.
Sometimes I wonder if my massive, unnamed project will go famous one day. (This is also why I don't name it here on my personal blog)
Cause like... people are gonna want to see my giant 400 page journal that I've filled just about every inch of with notes on its development. I know that cause I wanna see other artists 400 page notebooks.
I'm just worried about that one cause there's "why do I keep going anymore" mixed with notes about the Clinton Administration.
Either I have incredible foresight, or I'm severely, timidly, overestimating my capabilities.
Generational Trauma is such a horrible yet fascinating pattern. Just like our genes, it never really goes away, just slowly filters out and changes.
History repeats our whole damn lives.

I suppose Cain didn't realize 'all' included her too.
