'pretty privilege' is the idea that people who are perceived as more attractive often receive more opportunities, attention, and rewards compared to those who are considered less attractive. this concept is not limited to social settings but also especially extends to (in) academic environments.
in academia, research has shown that physically attractive students tend to receive higher grades because they are perceived as more intelligent, even when their actual performance does not differ significantly from their less attractive peers. this bias can affect everything from classroom interactions to evaluations and recommendations, potentially influencing a student's academic trajectory.
the underlying reason for this phenomenon is the "physical attractiveness stereotype," which assumes that attractive individuals possess positive qualities such as intelligence, sociability, and competence. it leads to preferential treatment and better opportunities for those who are deemed attractive.
it's important to be aware of this bias and strive to treat everyone fairly, regardless of their appearance. while we can't always control how others perceive us, we can make a conscious effort to judge people based on their abilities and contributions rather than their looks.
now, there is no benefit in ignoring it - because it simply will always exist. instead, you can choose to take advantage of it.
why people take advantage of pretty privilege:
increased opportunities: leveraging your attractiveness can open doors to more opportunities that might not be as easily accessible otherwise.
positive perceptions: attractive individuals are often perceived more favorably, which can lead to better treatment and more support from your peers and instructors.
enhanced confidence: knowing that you are perceived positively can boost your confidence, making you more likely to engage and participate actively in academic settings.
competitive edge: in highly competitive environments, any advantage can make a significant difference. taking advantage of pretty privilege can provide an edge over others.
but you should never only rely on your appearance to get you further in life - it is only to play the same game.
if you're interested in enhancing your appearance, here are some tips to help you feel more confident and attractive. it's important to remember that beauty is subjective and varies from person to person, and self-confidence plays a significant role in how others perceive you.
skincare: have a daily routine (cleanse, tone, and moisturize your skin. remember to use products suited to your skin type.) and apply sunscreen daily.
hair care: regularly maintain your hair, keeping it clean, well-trimmed, and styled in a way that suits your face shape and personal style. use conditioner and hair masks to keep your hair healthy and shiny.
oral hygiene: brush and floss your teeth daily to maintain a bright smile and fresh breath. visit the dentist regularly.
dress well: wear clothes that fit well and flatter your body shape. choose outfits that reflect your personal style and make you feel confident. dress appropriately for different occasions.
accessories: use accessories like jewelry, watches, and scarves to add a touch of elegance and build your outfits. ensure accessories complement your overall look without overpowering it.
physical health: engage in regular physical activity to stay fit and healthy. exercise can improve your posture and boost your confidence. eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains to support your health and appearance. drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and glowing.
attitude: a genuine smile can make you appear more approachable and attractive. maintain good posture, make eye contact, and use confident body language.
social skills: improve your communication skills to connect better with others. show genuine interest in others and practice empathy in your interactions. charisma and behavior can make or break appearing attractive.
remember! enhancing your appearance should be about making yourself feel good and confident, rather than solely seeking external validation. what you find attractive and enjoy should come before what other people like.

💗🍰MANIFEST YOUR DREAM BODY💗🍰
💗If you want to lose weight or gain weight , do not focus on losing weight or gaining weight , focus on the weight which makes you feel good. Imagine , pretend , act as if you are already at your desired weight .
🍰FOOD IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR WEIGHT GAIN , have you seen people who are extremely skinny but they eat like a horse? How do they maintain their weight despite the fact they eat so much ? These people have the belief that no matter what or how much they eat , they will not gain weight . Remember the story I mentioned in my post on appearance change ? Abdullah ate whatever he wanted and it did not affect him at all .
💗To manifest your dream body , live in the end . Will you complain about your dream body or praise it everytime you see it ? Complaining is never useful ( unless you are complaining about your desires ) . You will never change if you are always complaining about how you do not have your desired body because you are focusing on the old story . Whatever we focus on , expands. Whatever story you will focus on and repeat the most , it will become dominant and manifest . Focus on the new story where you have your dream body . Do not give importance to the 3D , your imagination is more powerful than the 3D.
🍰You can choose to workout and follow diets but change the way you think about your body first. Whatever assumptions you persist in manifests. Here is an example from Solar 's Guide !
" Example : I lose weight by constantly thinking " I am so skinny " and assume every time I see my body , it is skinny . This assumption will harden into a fact and my subconscious only knows that I am skinny. '

The Art of Showing Up for Yourself Every Day
In a world where we’re constantly pulled in all directions, showing up for ourselves is a skill worth mastering. It’s the subtle yet powerful act of prioritizing your well-being, setting boundaries, and building daily rituals that honor who you are. Here’s how to make it happen, one intentional step at a time.
Begin with a simple, calming routine that focuses on grounding yourself. Think of five minutes of mindfulness, stretching, or even sipping your morning coffee without scrolling on your phone. This moment is about aligning your mind with your day—your time to check in with yourself.
Rather than piling on lofty goals, start each day by setting intentions—small, achievable steps that honor your energy and goals for the day. Intentions like “I will protect my energy,” or “I will be kind to myself” keep you connected to what truly matters.
Some days, showing up means tackling a to-do list; other days, it means giving yourself a break. Listen closely to what you need—whether it’s extra rest, time alone, or time to socialize—and honor it without judgment.
Showing up doesn’t require grand gestures. Simple acts like drinking enough water, making time for skincare, or organizing your space send the message that you value yourself. The key is consistency—building small moments that reinforce self-worth daily.
Each night, end your day with a few moments of gratitude and reflection. Acknowledge your efforts and appreciate the small victories, however minor they may seem. This habit builds resilience and makes it easier to show up for yourself again tomorrow.
Showing up for yourself daily is about building a life that feels both empowering and graceful. It’s an art form, crafted by listening to yourself, honoring your needs, and taking small steps toward the best version of you. So here’s to you, showing up with intention and elegance, every day.
How to brain dump like a pro
what you need
a messy notebook (I like the Leuchturm bullet ones)
a pen
a beverage for emotional support (or several <3)
how to get started
grab your notebook, and sit down in a quiet moment with enough time so you won't stress even more. The point of a brain dump is to unload all your thoughts, everything that is stressing you is put to paper. not aesthetically, no cutesy Pinterest vibes; we need it plain, unromanticised, and personal.
some prompts to get you going
do I have any deadlines coming up?
have I been making time for myself and my hobbies?
what projects, tasks, appointments, and/ or plans are currently stressing me out?
am I procrastinating anything?
am I properly looking after myself? (mental/physical health, skincare, hobbies, school/work, etc etc)
am I currently working through any challenges, and if yes how is that going so far?
how are my friends/relationships doing?
is there an area in my life that I should prioritise right now?
do I feel confident and comfortable at the moment?
Review and reflect
take some time and go over your writing; you can underline or highlight the points that you find most important. make this whole "brain dump" thing a routine; sometimes it takes a bit of writing until you actually get comfortable with putting your emotions onto paper (it sounds easier than it is..), but the more often you do this, the more comfortable you will get!! <3
As always, please feel free to share your own suggestions and tips in the comments! <3
