Floyd's gender is just that comic of Eggman asking Knuckles his pronouns (in Floyd's case tho he's 100% messing with people because at the end of the day Floyd identifies as A Menace™️)

(this is Ace's home life mixed with how it affects the main Story and Ace's life in general)

As I mentioned in my Flash HC's thingy his family always do things 'by the book' Ace was raised with the notion that- being successful meant being perfect. In a way it's very similar to the way Riddle was raised. The only thing different is that 1. Riddle's mom is fucking crazy and 2. Riddle was an only child. Ace's brother- Jack (Jack Heart. Get it?) Was very rebellious and most definitely not the favorite. Ace always looked up to Jack since he was the 'Cool older brother' who did everything everyone told him not to do and still managed to succeed even going to a prestigious Highschool and Graduating with honors. (pretty sure it was mentioned somewhere that Ace's brother was well liked by his teachers) Jack always made sure Ace knew there was a life outside of perfection something that Ace took to become who he is now. Jack told Ace "Stand up for what you believe. Even if it makes you look like an outcast or a bitch or even fucking crazy just make sure you stand up and make them know you're not taking shit from anyone." Which contributed to his personality TONS as you can see in chapter 1 of twst where he literally punches Riddle. Speaking of Riddle! Ace is diametrically opposed to Riddle (again chapter 1) but at the same time he's so similar because the only difference is that Ace had a positive/negative influence namely- Jack while Riddle was raised on his own only with his Mother who was... Herself. Riddle had his only 'negative' influence forcefully taken away from him. (Again again chapter 1) Riddle was told that the only way was perfection and didn't have anything to tell him otherwise (guess what? It's in chapter 1) which caused him to be 'perfect'.

Ace fucking hates this. He sees Riddle be exactly what he was before he 'opened his fucking eyes' and realized that perfection isn't perfect and now Riddle is telling him that HES wrong?! That doesnt sit right with Ace and- yeah Ace punches him.

Ace and Jack don't have a very good relationship with their parents. Their mother rarely comes home from her business trips and works(or she left. I forgot.) And their father was distant and disappointed in both of them for not being perfect.

Ace and Jack have a good relationship. Jack will never forget to message his brother about his life, his job, (his lack of bitches-) and Ace will always know he's loved by at least one person in his life.

Authors Note: I was listening to Words fail for the first time during this. Ace is very Golden Child burnout. Like me! Ace's backstory is very inspired by being Riddle's polar opposite while coming from the same roots.

SHILVER... but the banner features VIL somehow??? 😭 That would be Silver's name in an AU where he was sorted into Octavinelle 🤣 because "shill" means "an accomplice of a swindler who acts as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others; a person who publicly helps or gives credibility to a person or organization without disclosing that they have a close relationship with said person or organization".

asdybayofqef Sebek has expressed in his Union Jacket vignettes that if he were to pick another dorm, he would select Octavinelle... so he can Shilver can be there together as Azul's new muscular bouncers www (I don't think Silver would be that useful of a salesman though, if White Rabbit Fest was of any indication:)

I love how it's implied he has an ED for like, two scenes and then it's NOWHERE. Like, hello? Serious mental disorders don't disappear into thin air.

My thoughts on Azul:

I haven’t really talked about my feelings for TWST characters but I feel strongly about Azul in the way that I very much dislike him.

- Spoilers for Book 3 and maybe 4

- This is all my opinion really but I don’t think it’s super unfounded.

First off, I feel like his game design could have been better. Yes, he looks fine (in my opinion) but I feel like the game creators had so many options in what to do with him. With Jade and Floyd, even in human form they still somehow resemble eels, but there’s no part of Azul’s design that really shows off more of his octopus merman side. (Side comment: I think that the game designers did Octavinelle dirty with their dorm uniforms. It’s literally just a suit with some accessories. Like come on)

Second off, the part that I really dislike is how his character is portrayed. I know that he is based off of Ursula and therefore has to act like her, but I feel like his backstory that we see after his overblot doesn’t really provide a good enough reason for how he turned out like this and how he acts toward other people.

More on the second point - we see Azul to be bullied which pushes him to want to be better and get back at those who made fun of him. I think that’s a reasonable thing to do - as someone who has been bullied, I have definitely thought about what it would be like to get ahead of them and make them regret being mean to me - not in a violent way but in a ‘they realize I’m so much better and more talented’ kinda way.

But the thing is, Azul doesn’t stop at that

We see that people are having things taken and we see how Azul begins his contract making and such. But he goes beyond that, he starts to make contracts and screw over people who DIDN’T do anything with him. We know from Book 3 that he ran his anemone-study guide stunt last year as well. None of those kids bullied him for his weight, he simply did it to get ahead and be ‘owed’ something.

What I think happened is that Azul felt good after getting the better of those kids when he was young, and then just continued it. His actions in the TWST timeline can’t be justified by him being bullied in the past because he’s already gone above and beyond for that.

That also pulls out another point - but I (don’t hate me for this) think that Azul’s overblot was the most undeserving. Yes, it’s painful to lose something you worked hard and long for. Yes, initially the trauma of being bullied was what got you on this path. But the way that he freaked out, put people in danger, all for bullying as kid? It doesn’t seem justified enough.

One of the main things I’ve seen people complain that they don’t really like about the game is how it doesn’t really seem like the Overblot Boys get enough of a character arc, as their personalities stay the same. This is also true of Azul. In Book 4, he acts exactly the way that he acts in Book 3, and it annoys me that all these people are going through TRAUMATIZING EVENTS and don’t seem to change, while also the player never gets to see what consequences they get.

Also did we ever see the reason why Azul is very ‘I did this now you owe me’ ‘I can’t accept your help because I’ll be in your debt’??

Anyway yeah, that’s my take on Azul. Pls don’t come at me for it.

Riddle: whenever a bug lands on him he freezes. Just stops.

Ace: His parents always shut down his beliefs. Very much a 'Stay in line and You'll be fine' type of family. (If requested I will rant on my HC Ace backstory)

Deuce: He calls his mother every day and one day she just starts crying and is all like 'Im so proud of you. You've changed so much and I love you.' and Deuce started crying too.

Cater: Does not actually care that much about Magicam. He just needed something to base his personality off of.

Trey: Uses southern insults All. The. Time. People talk to him and he's just 'Well good for you!' and people think he's the nicest.

Leona: If you put a weighted blanket on him he will just fall over like that one scene in Lilo and stitch.

Ruggie: Knows everyone. And I mean EVERYONE. Try to introduce him to someone new and he'll just be like 'OMG my old friend!' yeah.

Jack: Named his cactus Paula. Also Talks to it and uses it like a doll. (Like that one scene in DRDT)

Azul: His first experience with a land dweller was when he saw a coin fall from the surface and he followed it. There was a language barrier so he couldn't talk to them. He wonders how they're doing some days.

Jade: Had a bonding moment with Jack over their love for plants (mushrooms and cacti) also eats mushroom-spinach pizza (like me!)

Floyd: He bites. Also he's banned from playing against other schools in Basketball because of the sheer amount of fouls he gets. Jamil is so done.

Kalim: Will summon a rainbow to cheer someone up. He's precious.

Jamil: Doesn't actually hate Kalim. He just needs to be mad at someone. Oh also he cooks for the Basketball club and brings food to practice. Ace is his biggest fan.

Vil: Godly eye makeup. He's the one who gave Rook his feather in his hat.

Epel: Bad Ass Mother Fucker. He prefers to fight with his tounge rather than his fists. The only one to realize Trey's passive aggressiveness.

Rook: Will bring back fresh meat from his hunts. Him and Jade bring the best ingredients to the Cafeteria and no one knows.

Idia: one time he hid from people in an empty classroom for several hours after school. Ortho almost sent a search party.

Ortho: Spends hours analyzing his friends. Like as a hobby. He brings them perfectly planned gifts and they all love it.

Malleus: Lilia cuts his hair. He also polishes his horns. He secretly really enjoys Sebek's loyalty just wished he was quieter.

Silver: Takes care of the horses so well. They love him and will only accept food from him.

Sebek: He can be surprisingly quiet if you ask nicely. He gets loud again if he gets worked up. Autistic.

Lilia: He loves his sons. He ends up taking care of the whole Campus. No one in NRC can take care of themselves properly so he does it. Mockingbird by Eminem coded

Crowley: He shows up randomly and helps students. Lilia is taking a student to the infirmary? He's there and takes them for him. Leona is asleep in the botanical garden? Crowley kicks him away from the path. The teachers are so done with the chaos and are ready to combust? He's there. He will make the chaos worse and somehow contain it at the same time.

Crewel: He stays stocked up on potions ready to help any students that are ill, tired, or in any sort of pain. He will let you sleep in his classroom and will pull you into his office if he thinks somethings up. Many students have cried in front of him.

Trein: Will go out of his way to include history not taught in textbooks. Stuff about gay rights, racism, trans right, war crimes, fun facts about political leaders, etc. He does it all in the most monotone voice ever.

Lucius: The best cat. Used to be a stray wandering campus. Will bring gifts to students it likes. Recognized Leona as one of its own.

Vargas: Always down to help students. Oh you have Asthma? Good thing I have SEVENTEEN EXTRA INHALERS. You seem to be struggling a little why don't you sit down? Exercise without rest is as good as no exercise at all.

Sam: Will give freebies to students who need it. Oh you skipped lunch to study for a test? Good thing I have a sandwich just for you! Your pen broke? Which one do you want? Also will tell you all the tea.

Grim: Whenever he eats those blot crystals he suddenly knows all of the victims trauma which he reports to Yuu.

Yuu: Has serious conversations with Overblot victims. The best non licensed therapist.
