so basically: reader is living in a woods in their little wooden house, away from mondstads people, they're not often seen in public. reader is coming to the city of freedom only to borrow books with spells, because of that some people r saying that they're a witch.

which is pretty accurate, but reader prefer calling themselves magician. they cast a spell by writing a symbol on a small piece of paper and then throwing it at enemy causing dmg, or just use it to shield themselves or to heal. (ndjdbsfhjd if u watched owl house,, there's this human who draws spells on piece of paper so that's something like this)

of course they're using cryo vision to fight enemies too!!

⠀”Really,” is the first thing Kaeya’s said to you today, “Sometimes I wonder how you could spend so much time all the way out here on your own. Don’t you ever get lonely?”

⠀You chuckled and stepped to the side, giving him room to enter your cozy cottage. “It’s not as bad as you might think. The woods are relaxing, and sometimes a dashing knight from the nearby city comes for a visit.”

⠀”Oh? A dashing knight you say?” Kaeya’s grin was wide as he pressed a kiss to your temple, then proceeded to wipe his shoes on your mat. He stepped into your living room to deposited the rucksack he’s been carrying on your table, then settled himself on your sofa. “And pray tell, what is it about this ‘dashing knight’ that makes visits so memorable?”

⠀There’s a warmth that grew in your chest at the familiar sight of the Cavalry captain relaxing back into your comfy couch. You approached and nudged his long legs to give you some space to sit. “Well,” you drawled as you dug through the pack, pulling out the various books and examining them. You made a pleased noise. “Well, absolute grace and poise for one.”

⠀In the corner of your eye, you saw Kaeya smirk to himself, resting his hands behind his head as he got comfortable. The cheeky little shit. You nudged his calf with an elbow. 

⠀“Incredible mastery over their weapon, astounding skill with their Cryo vision,” You continued to list off, grinning to yourself as you watched Kaeya’s smirk grow with every word. It was adorable, really.

⠀”The romantic speech. Oh, and let me not forget the stunningly good looks that I’m ever so blessed to be around.”

⠀Kaeya waved a hand between you two, his eye closed as he basked in your praise. “Please,” he tried to say in a humble tone that was not very humble. “You embarrass me, dear. And I thought I was the flirt between us—“

⠀”Oh, I do miss the Reconnaissance captain,” you cut him off with a cheeky smile that turned his smile upside down in an instant. “I hope Eula will visit me again soon.”

⠀His eye narrowed at you, arms crossing on his chest as you tried to stifle your laughter. His expression was comparable to a cat who had just been dunked in water and who had not appreciated it. “How comedic of you,” Kaeya said flatly, though you knew he was not really upset. He frowned and gestured to the books on your table with a wide, sweeping gesture. “And after I braved the treacherous path to deliver these books to you, this is how I am repaid? How shameful of the witch of Wolvendom.”

⠀”Magician,” you corrected, poking his leg. “You’ve heard my spiel before. And really, you brought the trickery upon yourself.”

⠀”I take offense to that, I’ll have you know.” No, you’re sure he didn’t. ”You can’t say the citizens of Mondstadt are entirely wrong, though.”

⠀Noncommittally you shrug. You stood and piled some of the tomes in your hand, bringing them to your shelf on the opposite wall. The stack in your hands was rather large, and Kaeya wondered how you were able to comfortably carry the whole thing. “Perhaps not, but I do prefer to be called a magician either way.” You looked at him from over your shoulder, one book halfway shelved between two other books. “I trust Lisa had no complaint of the books I borrowed last week?”

⠀”Nothing but the highest praise,” Kaeya assured. Then, as if he had remembered something, he snapped his fingers. “She told me to tell you that she wants you over for tea tomorrow, and that she wouldn’t take no for an answer.”

⠀The thought of it made you groan, and you huffed. “I already went for supplies this week, though,” you complained, but behind your back Kaeya just shrugged.

⠀”I’m just the messenger. Wouldn’t want to upset her, now would you?”

⠀”…no,” You agreed, remembering the last time you had upset her.

⠀”Glad we could come to an accord.” The cavalry captain smiled mischievously at your obvious displeasure. The conversation stalled for a minute or two as you focused on placing the books where they had to go. When you had finished organizing, you turned around and were met with Kaeya’s thoughtful stare. 

⠀”She worries about you, you know. So do I. You can’t argue that it’s dangerous out here on your own.”

⠀”I thought we established that a dashing knight comes to check up on me every now and again?” You asked, raising a brow playfully. You crossed your arms. “Besides, I can hold my own. There’s no need to worry.”

⠀”I know you can hold your own,” Kaeya laughed, but there was a tinge of seriousness to it now. “Those written symbols of yours are no joke. I can still remember how tiring it was to get through your Cryo shield. “

⠀”See?”

⠀”And yet, can you blame me for wanting you to be safe?”

⠀You soften at that. Kaeya’s still got a smile on his face, but you’ve known him long enough to spot the fabrication in it. There’s worry there. With soft steps you approach him, taking his hands into yours. With as even of an expression as you can, you meet his gaze. “No, I cannot blame you for it. But I feel alive here in the woods, even though it’s dangerous. I have my vision and my skills for a reason, you know? You helped me master it, you know how formidable I am.”

⠀”I do,” he agrees. 

⠀”And I’ve been learning to draw symbols of healing, too, so I can do more than just fight and defend. I can’t dispel your worries, though I appreciate that you care for me as much. I can tell you that I will do my best to stay safe, though.”

⠀”Do you promise?” He asks, searching your eyes for any doubt, any indication you were saying all this just for him.

⠀His eye was a lovely shade of blue, you realized. Leaning more on the side of periwinkle in this light, and contrasting with those strange, diamond-shaped pupils. You wondered if it was the same under his eyepatch.

⠀”I promise.” Then the furrow of your brow relaxed and you grinned. “Though I wouldn’t mind a certain Cryo-wielding captain from the knights showing up on my doorstep every now and then. Y’know, just to check up on me.”

⠀Kaeya’s smile changed, just enough for you to notice. He didn’t let go of your hand just yet, but his shoulders had lost some of their tension. 

⠀”I’ll be sure to pass the message to Eula, then.”

⠀You laughed, smacking his shoulder with a strength you doubted he could feel. “You ass!”

I wrote a lil something with high Kaeya a little while ago: here!

Anyways! Kaeya doesn’t often show it but he is under a lot of stress…All the time

He has a lot of relationships with criminals where information is traded, he has to do all kinds of work for the knights and handle civilian problems aside from knight duties! Everyone tends to think he’s a slacker but he always has a lot to do

So the guy has very little free time! So when he’s high, he tends to just…Space out and relax! He deserves it

He’s content to slouch into his couch cushions and stare into the fireplace for hours with a tired smile on his face. He’s the definition of ‘no thoughts behind those eyes’ when he’s like this and you know what? Good for him

If you’re there with him, he’ll either fall asleep on your shoulder or zone out while listening to you talk. Or both

Because he’s a captain, he has to uphold his image though so this is a super rare thing 0-0

Diluc:

Coughs a LOT, complains about the smell and overall doesn’t approve of smoking in the house but if he does join in…

He’s a very loud, affectionate drunk and can be some what similar when he’s high

Very clingy but gets bored easily, he’ll get up to wander around and then come back to sit with you. Then he gets bored so he gets up again to walk around. Then he misses you so he comes back to sit again. This will go on as long as you allow it

If you get annoyed and finally tell him to sit his ass down he’ll sigh very dramatically over and over which is even more annoying

He gets cravings too but then after a cook makes whatever he wanted he takes two bites and decides he doesn’t want it anymore :/

I love him…But he isn’t cut out for this lmao

Zhongli:

Zhongli is even more talkative than he usually is but lacking his usual formal filter

He sounds more tired than usual but his stories have a lot more detail than they did last time you heard it

He’ll literally spill all of his secrets to you since it’s just you guys. Archon orgies, playing pranks on vison wielders, throwing boulders at Venti, he’ll tell you all about it all while laying half on the floor, half on the couch

He might remember telling you, he might not. Hell, who knows if you’ll remember? Either way, he turns into a comedian when he’s high

“-So that is what I said, I made sure that…That stupid airhead of an Anemo Archon stopped writing profanities in the clouds when I wasn’t looking. I threw that boulder from Qingce Village to…Do they call it Springvale now..? I think they do. Either way, apparently I created a crater of sorts over there. It’s a sizable pond nowadays, the townspeople love fishing there”

Baizhu:

As a herbal pharmacist, I’m sure he’s smoked plenty of herbs before so Baizhu is experienced!

He’d probably be the one guiding you along to make sure you are not only safe but having a good time too

He doesn’t smoke a lot at once, just enough to feel relaxed

One of his favorite things to do while he’s high is going to listen to the storytellers by the Northland Bank. He’ll take a seat in the back and listen! He isn’t totally there, he mostly zones out but it’s fun! He’ll probably want to take you there too

Otherwise you’ll be in the back of the pharmacy together with whatever herbs you want at your fingertips. Don’t worry, the Fatui can get more for him whenever he wants ;) shh

-He’s laying awake, tracing his finger along the wall, making damn sure the sex pistols don’t wake you. 

-In his distraction, you reach out, grasping his arm and hugging it.

-He takes note that you’re still asleep, and pulls you on top of him, securing his arms around you so that you don’t slip off. 

-Instead of tracing the wall, he will now be trailing his fingers up and down your arms and back, and through your hair. 

-His heart is melting you’re so god damn cute. He’ll tighten his grip, just gazing down at you with nothing but adoration in his eyes. 

-He will tease the everloving shit out of you when you wake up. Like he will not stfu about it. 

-He will also be a million times more physically affectionate with you during the day lol it’s sickening

Fugo: 

-Whaaaaat are you doing?

-Oh, you’re asleep.

-When you wake up, he’s much kinder and softer towards you. He’ll make any excuse to gently bump knees while you’re sitting or to brush his hand against yours while reaching for something.

Narancia:

-Nani in tarnation is goin on?

-He’s completely taken by surprise. You’re asleep? And you want him? To hold you? ???? ?????? *Windows start up sounds* 

-He literally doesn’t know what to do He’s so soft and so confused with his negative brain cells (I do hate him but I will admit he does have a big heart he is a sweetie) 

-He will, a little too eagerly, hug you back. His tenacity may or may not wake you up. (It does. Sorry.) 

-You wake up to a surprise hug though so win win?

-The more you subconsciously ask, the more he gives, until you two are literally glued together. (Social distancing whomst? We don’t know her.)

-He is a light sleeper. I know I’ve said this before, but he is a very, very, very light sleeper.

-He’ll startle awake and look over at you to check and see if you’re okay. 

-Oh, you are okay. Oh, you just want held? Alright. He’s up for that. Oh. You’re asleep? He’ll have to be especially careful to not wake you. 

-He will pull you close and rub circles into your back, pressing his cheek against the top of your head. He might even fall back asleep. If you stir, it’s not for long. His warmth and soothing movements lull you back to sleep in the safety of his arms. 

-When you’re awake, he’ll definitely be more affectionate, pressing tiny flowers into your hands, brushing your hair back, k i s s i n g y o u r k n u c k l e s (Im so fucking soft) 

-But seriously imagine Giorno getting down on one knee, taking your hand, and brushing his lips against your knuckles while looking up at you with literally nothing but love and affection in his eyes im going to cry

-Will absolutely do the disgusting feeding each other thing. “Babe, try this!” *Proceeds to hold forkful of food in front of your mouth. “Oh, that looks good, can I have some?” *Lets you do the same* 

-It’s revolting and I love it. 

Joseph (Fluff):

-He’s already awake. He’s got to get up early and train (Viva reverie reference: “With these tall hat guys for a looooong time!”)  But oops, you just so happened to burrow against him, and your arm seems to have found its way across his stomach. What a predicament, you’re still asleep! He can’t wake you!

-He decides that he just doesn’t have the heart to move you, and wraps his arms around you to pull you even closer. What if you get cold? He’s warm, you’ll be warm next to him!

-He will hold you against him until you wake up, no matter how late it makes him. Punishments be damned. You’re way too cute and this opportunity is way too good to pass up. 

-In all honesty though he’s elated that you want him to hold you. This carries over into you being awake. He’ll be hanging off of you. Hell, He’ll carry you around if you give the okay. He will absolutely kneel so he can carry you around on his shoulders.
