SO, I mention it in my about, but I will go into in some headcanons about how Ranma had a rough upbringing. His father, though he loves him, caused Ranma trauma due to his torturous methods in training and just his mental worth. I feel this can be assumed when you read up on how Genma trained Ranma but in the show it's all played for laughs. In any case, this is how I see it and it will be a part of my portrayal. I was thinking of tagging tw: mental abuse ? but I'm not sure. If anyone needs it tagged specifically, let me know! ♥

I. GENERAL

NAME: Ranma Saotome / RACE: Human / OCUPATION: Martial Artist / GENDER: Male. (turns into a female when splashed with cold water due to the Gensokyo curse) / AGE: 16-18 / BIRTHPLACE: Japan / CURRENT RESIDENCE: Tendo Dojo / PARENTS: Genma, Nodoka / BUILD: Muscular and fit / PHOBIAS: Cats, losing his strength, losing in battle

II. BACKGROUND 

Ranma also undergoes nother curse by unknowingly eating something that contained a Dragon Whisker, cursing him with uncontrollable hair growth when in his true form. This is why he ends up braiding his hair, for it is the only way to contain the curse.

Once their trip is over, they end up making their way to Japan where they would be visiting the Tendo Dojo. Ranma was unaware his father had made a deal with his best friend Soun Tendo, that Ranma would marry his daughter Akane. Their first meeting doesn’t go as planned for Akane meets Ranma in his female first, and then shocked when it is revealed he is actually a man. Without his say, Ranma and his father now stay at the Tendo residence as guests.

Ranma attempts to get used to his new life with the Tendos and has trouble getting along with Akane. It would take time for them to eventually  warm up together. While back in Japan, Ranma remains committed to be a Martial Artist, but gets into all types of trouble in both his true and female form. He comes across many people who wished to marry him as well as become his rivals. He has to adjust to a new high school as well.

It also takes time for Ranma to adjust to his female form. He makes it clear that he is confident as a man and wants to be addressed as one, but overtime things change. Ranma starts to not only enjoy being a female, but accepts that part of him. His female form became a part of him. She was just as much Ranma as he was. He goes through lots of trials but finds a new type of acceptance with his identity.

III. STATS & SKILLS

Martial Artist,, abilities Ranma has gained through his training over the years:

1. SKILLS: His impressive physical abilities include incredible strength, and outstanding speed. He also has superhuman endurance, enabling him to continue fighting even after he has taken many powerful blows or fallen from a great height. He is even able to land over 100 punches at once. He has great durability which allows him to survive even the most powerful attacks. His confidence allows him to take on the greatest challenges, those sometimes this can be his downfall.

His abilities over the years come from rigorous training with his father, allowing Ranma to master several styles of martial arts, utilizing a blend of Chinese and Japanese techniques. he has also master specific abilities due to challenges such as, Martial Arts Figure Skating, Martial Arts Tea Ceremony, Martial Arts Dining, and Martial Arts Cheerleading.

Ranma has TONS of abilities he's learned from his training, to other martial artists and school. you can read them in great detail over at this wiki page.

2.. INTELLIGENCE: Ranma is very intelligent, more than people give him credit for. Ranma is dedicated to honing his skills, but often is distracted or likes to live his life in the moment. This has led to him being absent from school a lot or being forgetful or obligations. 

Ranma also is unaware of his lack of social skills/convections. Often causing him to be in fights or simple misunderstandings on his part. He is also very forgetful, which causes others to think he isn’t smart, but Ranma is a very easy going guy. Another point to make is because of his dedication to training, he hasn’t paid much attention or have any interest in popular culture. This often causes him to be out of the loop in current events.

Ranma is very smart and mostly spends him time dedicating to things he sees a proper use for or he has an extreme interest in. 

IV. EXTRA FACTS.

Much to his liking, Ranma is surrounded by girls who claim to love him and wish to marry him. This causes tension in his real life of course and some of their tactics are obsessive. He honestly isn’t repulsive to them, but their methods of getting his attention causes him to withdraw.

Ranma is also targeted by men in his female form that wish to be engaged with her. While, ironically, they see Ranma in his true form as a rival. He isn’t bothered too much with having rivals. He sees it as his chance to hone his skills, but they do get in his way more often than he would like.

❝ Well yeah but.. ❞ He though over her comment as they continued walking. Ranma was the type to help other in needs, but only if he saw them in danger. Just like him, if they don't ask for help, he assumes they're alright. Of course this all changes if that someone is someone who he cares for. When it comes to himself, Ranma rather just deal with it. He doesn't want to seem weak or admit he needs others to pick him up.

They finally reached what Ranma assumed to be their destination. He waited and tapped his foot as she talked to the other and then proceeded to lead him upstairs. ❝ Seems like we've been walking forever. ❞ Or it could be because Ranma was so impatient. He just hoped it wouldn't be too long because he didn't want to be scolded back home.

❝ I know this is off topic, but I'm also getting hungry so... if you don't have food here I need to get going. ❞

SHE WAS GLAD that he was not being too stubborn or difficult about this. She had after all dealt with a number of boys in the past that would by now roughly snatch their hands away and snap at her to BUZZ OFF. And so, she didn't mind at all when he would eventually pull his hand away from her own, so long as he continued to follow her back to her place nearby.

"... Why not, bro?" She responded back, seeming genuinely surprised herself when he had asked that. Even looking back over her shoulder and at him with slightly wide eyes, "If ya see dat someone's hurt, don'cha wanna help em' out yerself?"

With that said, Itsuki would then look back ahead. She was beginning to pity him now, but only because the idea of having someone showing any sort of care or concern for him seemed almost alien to him. Sure, she was a stranger. But she was sure there were other strangers who would have done the same then.

"Naaaah, ah don't. But uhm startin' ta think ah should." Itsuki would finally smile and chuckle, nearly rolling her eyes then at the very thought of it. "'Fraid all's uhf got is some ice, wash cloths, an' some balm. But, we'll see if ya need dat last one." They would finally reach a little shophouse, one owned by her grandmother. "Uhm jus' gonna give 'im somethin' fer dat bruise on his face, obaachan~" She would tell her, as they headed towards the stairs nearby then, "C'mon, bro, we're almost there!"

Everything was all packed. It wasn't unusual for Ranma to go on a trip with his father to build up his strength, but this time Ranma wanted to go on his own. He needed to put all the pressure on himself and have no help at all. Ranma didn't think it be a big deal, he leaves all the time. He just left a note behind for his father to pass around. Simple. Or so he thought.

At first he told himself he was imagining Akane's voice, but there was no denying it. ❝ Akane? ❞ He turns around to face her, she caught up to him rather quickly.

❝ Hey. I was just leaving. If you didn't know I'm going on a trip. We're on break from school so it's perfect... no big deal, I'll be back soon. ❞ Ranma thought it would end right there, but Akane was quick to respond. 'you were going to leave without saying goodbye?' Now why did she have to go and say that? Ranma's heart suddenly felt heavy. He hated it.

❝ It's no a big deal! I'm not going away forever! I just think it's best if I go alone.❞ Truth? He wouldn't mind if she came. But he was sure Akane would be worried about him, and theres a good chance they might bicker the whole time. ❝ I'll be back soon okay? Sorry I... didn't say goodbye. ❞
